Once I got my Free Flow combo up thats all I did - nothing but X and the occasional Y and walk off done. I used Y+B for armored and X+Y for those carrying doors + swords. Them out of the way led to a lot of combos without any hassle.

Can't wait to try out these challenges, the ones on the first game were pretty fun
|
How many challanges are there? According to 108 medals are there 36?
|
Quote:
-Ranked Challenges- a) Combat Challenges = 12 Challenges = 36 Medals b) Predator Challenges = 12 Challenges = 36 Medals -Campaign Challenges- This is simply a mix of the actual, above mentioned challenges. There are always 3 different challenges in a row and you have to get 3 medals in each section = 9 medals per challenge. Moreover, you are not allowed to fail more than 3 times. There are 12 Campaign Challenges = 108 Medals |
Thx for the vids :)
|
Thanks Powerpyx, It will be one hell of a tough journey.

Nope, you don't need to be connected to XBL. The Challenges can be done offline and you will still get your Achievements.

does the multiplier only reset if you get hit or does it time out as well
|
It will reset when you:
a) get hit by an enemy b) stop performing moves c) have a bad timing (e.g. you press the counter button a second too early) d) hit an enemy that blocks your attack |
thank you very much powerpyx
god i hope i can do these considering most of the dlc achievements are for these challenges. |
Aw no, not again... these are the only achivements keeping me from 1000G's on Asylum.
|
Anyone have a rough formula for how a Beatdown is scored? Is it just 10 * i * (mult + i - 1) summed over i strikes and mult is your multiplier going in? Also, is i a fixed value or dependent on the target?
|
Oh man these look hard, thanks for the videos.

You make it look so easy...

These took me FOREVER in AA. Once I got the hang of them they weren't bad though. I played a few on this one, and most didn't seem bad, but there are a few that make me want to put the controller into the tv. I hope the skillful button mashing comes back to me.

Are these challenges easier or harder than AA? Any of them timed like Shock and Awe?
|
I've unlocked 10 of the combat challenges and as of now none have a time to them. They seem a lot easier so far too. I've 3 ?'d all of them so far. I did notice in the campaign challenges that the third level was timed. I think the campaign challenges are going to be the hardest this time around.
|
Good guide; I'm having trouble with some of the campaign challeneges. Such as the glide ones, I got so close to gliding the 150, but I can't find a spot or route that allows me to do it. Any suggestions on the navigational challenges on where to go?
|
Gliding for 150 ft continuously requires the grapnel boost IMO. I'm sure it's not officially required but I found that it was much easier to achieve once I did the first 4 AR Training missions and got the grapnel boost. Also, I think a decent understanding of dive bombing and pulling back during gliding is essential. It allows you to essentially stay afloat forever as long as you don't have to navigate through too many buildings and such.
If you're talking about flying through those green loops, like in the AR challenges, then I'm afraid I don't have much advice to give other than keep at it and you will get it through perseverance and focus. ;) Above all... BE the Batman. |
Well the challenge says for the 150 you can't use the boost upgrade, but for the 250 you can. I did the first 4 AR challenges, but I didn't pick up my boost yet because I don't want to miss getting that one nav challenge completed.. but I can't get a good spot to glide for that long :/

That's just a cheap way to make the game look longer while pissing most of the players in the process. Well, I'll enjoy the game, riddles, predator challenges and such like in the first one... And won't bother with the fight challenges I guess. |
Combat Challenges are pretty easy if you know the trick.
Basically get a 5x Combo, then use the Bat Swarm Special Combo and repeat. Just keep doing 1 hit and then jumping as much as possible. You'll get your Combo up to insanely high numbers and you'll do most of the Challenges on the first try. |
