Planet Cracker achievement - Hardware Crack puzzle solutions
Please read first:
When I did my first playthrough, I chose to do route A. This means I started with a RIG level 1. As you perhaps already know from reading the achievement guide, your RIG will become level 4 (unlocking the achievement for it) by the end of the first playthrough. Once having a RIG level 4, you will have more tools at your disposal to make the mini-games easier. This being said, I made youtube videos for all possible laser mini-games, but the ones on route A are with the RIG not fully upgraded. This means that routes B, C and D are based upon having a fully upgraded RIG. There are several paths (routes) you can take. Here's an overview: - Route A: Act 1 (Start) -> Act 2A (Lighting Failure) -> Act 3A (Direct Route) -> Act 4 - Route B: Act 1 (Start) -> Act 2A (Lighting Failure) -> Act 3B (Cross the Rim) -> Act 4 - Route C: Act 1 (Start) -> Act 2B (Hostage Situation) -> Act 3C (Spacewalk) -> Act 4 - Route D: Act 1 (Start) -> Act 2B (Hostage Situation) -> Act 3D (Interior Route) -> Act 4 Different routes will result in different puzzles. Depending on the route you'll take, pick the according videos: - Route A: Act 1.1 / Act 1.2 -> Act 2A.1 / Act 2A.2 -> Act 3A.1 / Act 3A.2 -> Act 4 - Route B: Act 1.1 / Act 1.2 -> Act 2A.1 / Act 2A.2 -> Act 3B -> Act 4 - Route C: Act 1.1 / Act 1.2 -> Act 2B -> Act 3C -> Act 4 - Route D: Act 1.1 / Act 1.2 -> Act 2B -> Act 3D -> Act 4 No, I didn't forget some videos. It turns out that routes C and D have less laser mini-games... I hope it is all clear and understandable, and these videos will help you solving the puzzles. Good luck! |

Here's a pic I took of the last hardware crack puzzle in the game in Act 4. I am going to try to post more of these but if not, hopefully others contribute. Just note that you have to rotate the yellow laser once or twice to get it to shine in the diagnoal path (I didn't do it in picture because level would have ended before I snapped the pic!)

I've made a picture myself, and put it on facebook. From there, I'm copy pasting one (puzzle 7). I also made a video with the digital cam, which I uploaded to youtube. They're "converting" it right now, so will try to post these as well. |

been rattling my brain on this one for a while, I guess it'd make sense why I can't solve it if I don't have a part I need. |

Since my profile has a fully upgraded RIG, I'll have to re-do the whole story mode again using another profile so that I'll have the same amount of splitters and reflectors. Then, I'll try to make the youtube video and post it here as well. |
http://www.youtube.com/user/HyperBio.../2/95o65isZwuU This guy on Youtube posted a 1 - 6 part walkthrough.
He picked Hostage Situation - Spacewalk route. |

As for your puzzle problem, all I can remember is that I had to put a splitter in top right corner. It took me several attempts before I finally figured it out, but trust me, it is doable with the limited amount of splitters. If you're not in a hurry, come back somewhere in the weekend. I will probably have put the solution online somewhere late Saturday or Sunday. Good luck |
A GREAT guide dude!
