Forum Rules - PLEASE READ!

General Rules

Search before you post! We have loads of FAQs, Guides and Announcements around the forums and for each game. Taking the two minutes to read these will generally find your answer, and save you having to post another question.

Post in the right place. If you post a thread in the wrong place, it will either be moved, locked or deleted.

Play nicely on the forum. The community is a friendly place. If you plan on just flaming someone – DON’T. If you have a problem with a member, then you have two options. One- use the Report button (it’s the nuclear waste looking button under someone’s gamertag on the forum). Two – post a complaint in the Complaints board. If you don’t take these two options and choose to flame on the forums, you are just as responsible as the person you are responding to, and will likely face the same consequences.

Language. We don’t mind people using the occasional swear word. We understand everyone uses them, and if you drop an F Bomb we get it. If however, you decide that every other word you use will be a swear word, we will take exception at that. Use your common sense, and remember that a lot of young people use the forum. Please also use English as the language, avoid l337 speak or txt talk. Make sure it is easy for everyone to read your post, i.e. use grammar and a spellcheck.

Respect the staff. You may not like the person, but they have been chosen by the Admins for a reason. The staff don’t hold grudges, and treat every member the same. If you have a complaint, follow the normal procedure. Again, if you decide to air your grievances in the forum, you will face consequences for flaming.

Nothing Illegal. If you want to discuss anything illegal, from drugs to downloading torrents, do it off the site. If we spot this going on, we will remove the conversation and the members from the site.

Modifying X-Boxes. We understand that people do this, and what you do to your X-Box is your choice. Modifying the Hardware by adding LEDs breaks the T&Cs of Microsoft, and is therefore not encouraged. Modifying your X-Box to play downloaded games is illegal and discussion of this will not be tolerated.

Subjects to avoid. Anything that is discussing religion, politics, racist subjects or similar will not be tolerated on the site. Please also avoid spam threads, such as word games, post your pictures here or ‘which of these games to buy/sell’ threads, "what should I change my gamertag to" threads. They have all been done before. All of them. Yes, even your idea. Also, we don't allow advertising on the forum, this includes referral links.

Don’t Spam. If you have nothing new and constructive to add to a thread...don’t post. If someone has posted an answer or a link, there is no need for a ‘What he said’ post. Don’t spam the New Members board. If you are just going to post a short generic message, don’t bother. Don't make posts like "I agree" or "Thanks for 'X'" as it just clutters up threads.

If Staff feel that your thread isn't adding anything constructive to the site, they will remove it without warning.

Edit your posts. If you see a mistake in your post, or want to add something, then edit your post. Don’t double post, there is no need.

Old threads. If you’ve used the search function and found an old thread, kudos first of all. Now, if you have some groundbreaking new info then feel free to post it. If however, youre just going to say ‘works for me’ or ‘what he said’ etc, don’t bother. Think- am I adding value to the thread? Basically, if a thread is over a month old, stay away from it.

Signatures
Advertising links will not be tolerated. Links to Twitter/Facebook or your own gaming blog is fine as long as it doesn't contain forums. Links to other gaming websites, Raptr cards, random sites, those stupid egg sites, ebay auctions etc will not be permitted. Anything to do with ‘Free games when you fill out 128317 forms’ are also not allowed. Also, referral links of any kind are not allowed. Note that signatures containing image links to Microsoft Owned/Sponsored/Endorsed sites that are Xbox related are allowed. This includes but is not limited to gamercard images from Xbox.com, 360voice, mygamercard.net, etc, etc.

Image size – Images in signatures should not exceed 500x300 pixels tops. These images should be family friendly. This means no hentai images, or anything related. If you want to show/look at hentai, then please use a hentai site. Anything containing male/female nudity is not permitted. If you want multiple images, ensure they fit in the 500x300 size limit. (This means that all of your images combined can not exceed a total image area of 500x300.)

Text. We don’t all need to know every game you have completed, and it doesn’t need a line of text for each game in your signature. Please ensure that there is no more than 6 lines of text in your signature. It’s a signature, not a novel.

Your signature, with all images combined, should not exceed 500x300 pixels. Subscribers only, may have up to 600x400 signature size.

Text & images in Spoilers counts towards your totals as well.

Furthermore, if you would like to use your allotted signature space to post snide remarks about the infractions you've been given or to insult the staff, action will be taken.

Visitor Walls, Private Messaging and Social Groups
Remember, these are an extension of the forum. If you flame people on the wall messages, we will act as if it was in the main forum. Same goes for the social groups. If in your picture album you post anything offensive, pornographic, racist etc than appropriate action will be taken. If you are harassing someone by PM, the person is more than entitled to report it and we will take action. Just because they are private, doesn’t mean you can break the rules in them.

Writing Guides
Do not try to ‘reserve’ a game to write a guide for. When a game comes out, is when the guide should be started. Don’t start when the Achievement list is revealed. The aim is to have the best guide for the site, so if that means combining 10 guides, then we will. Please see this thread for more information.

News Comments. Please refrain from spamming the news comments. Nobody cares if you’re first, honestly. Posting to let people know is the easiest way to get your post deleted and to get your account banned. Likewise, please try to keep the language clean. Any links or advertising will be removed and accounts banned as well.

Codes (Trial/Game/Etc.)
We do not allow the selling/trading/asking/buying/giving away/etc. of codes on this site. This could include 48 hour trial codes, DLC content codes, arcade game codes, etc. Any posts regarding codes will be infracted and deleted.

Clan Discussion
Please note, we don't allow clan discussion/recruitment/advertising etc on this site. If you are looking for a clan, please look elsewhere. Whilst on the subject, the x360a Clans have been tried, and didn't work. We will not be bringing them back. Any clan claiming to be a representation of x360a is doing so without our knowledge. Please let us know so we can investigate.

Accounts
The use of multiple accounts is not allowed on this site. If you have more than one account, all of your accounts will be permanently banned. Posting under someone's account can get both your account and the other person's account banned. Also, multiple people on one account will not be tolerated. Everyone using this site should have their own account so that they are solely responsible for whatever happens with their account.

If the staff have locked/moved/deleted your thread, do not create another one. It has been moderated for a reason, and with the number of posts staff don’t have time to send a message for every thread they close. If you create another thread, this will be treated as spam. If you feel it was done unjustly, please use the complaint board.

Please do not PM the staff for simple questions that can be answered on the forums or by reading the FAQs. Staff get a LOT of PMs, and it is simply not possible to respond to everyone.

When the Admins feel the site needs new moderators, we will add new moderators. We will also choose the new mods, so please do not ask. This is a pretty much guaranteed way to never become a mod. As is having an infraction or not following the rules.

Admins reserve the right to add or alter rules as they see fit.
