I used this solution from TrueAchievements.

After playing the drums for atleast one video session; start waving your "sticks" above your head and down to give more wildness. After the lights go crazy it should pop.

But apparently this will work as well.

I started up a game stood close to the kinect, brought up the drums and just started banging hard and fast. It took about 5 seconds.

Do you still need Arena and willing to trade wins on castle crashers? If so just send a friend request to my gamertag W Clone so we can help each other out.
