There is definitely a ticking noise. And I only hear the hum when the power brick has a white light and the console is off due to instant-on. It might buzz when the console is on, too, but I didn't notice. Guess I'll talk to Xbox support again (they were thoroughly useless with the controller).
No fan ticking sound, I can't even hear the fan. I can't even hear the console until I have it in power saving mode and then I can hear a slight hum either from the brick or the console I couldn't tell.
I got a couple questions for you since I figured you played for a bit yesterday night. First, do your power brick buzz/hum (especially noticeable when the Xbox One is turned off, but in instant-on mode)? Second, does your fan or HDD (I can't figure out which it is) make a bit of noise with a ticking/clicking noise (I noticed this while playing a game and after I turned the console off for a minute or two before it stopped)?
After using the Kinect for a bit, I am absolutely convinced the live streamers are idiots. This thing has missed one command out of dozens I've given it and I am speaking quieter than normal conversation volume.
I would give them a call, couldn't hurt...they very well might replace it for you. I got my KI working, not sure what happened, just another minor error on launch day, I've had a handful of games just close out completely in the middle of playing...oddly enough it's not pissing me off, I guess it's because I am expecting these issues so early in the launch.
I love the UI, been playing around with the menus and kinect voice commands all day.
No, sounds like you just got a shitty controller lol. I am loving the Xbox One...although It did just redeem my KI code, gave me an error and now the code says used and I don't seem to have a way to find KI and try downloading again...
Seriously though the system is far better than I expected, especially Kinect. The games look amazing, I can't wait for future games in 2014.
