If I remember correctly it was only battle sounds that would cut out randomly. It can be annoying at first but I got use to it after a while. Other than that, only noticeable thing was when you travel to a different area you could zoom ahead by moving the right stick while the area was loading.
Go for it. That game is really fun. I was starting my Dark Side playthrough when my internet was down but didn't get to finish it since I got it back. Also, are you playing it on the 360 or original Xbox? The 360 has a lot of buggy-ness to it, like sound cutting out.
You played Knights of the Republic? I've not.. I have it beside me right now and I'm wondering if I should play it.. or maybe make a video of it or something.
