Well, with the amount of threating that NK are doing, I'm sure people are glad it's there.

I know a couple of people that have been stationed near the DMZ and they claim that there is actually a fair amount of shooting across the lines (at least there was in the 80s). So we do kind of need a quick response vessel like a carrier in the area.

No it's actually the carrier that is in the waters near Korea.
