I think you have the wrong idea. I'm not talking about who the Republicans are or waht side ofthe country most are at. The Republicans were perfectly reasonable. The tax is already a law, but if businesses can be excluded because of how bad it will hit them, then why can't individuals? I mean, we will be the hit the same way and just as hard. I understand the debt ceiling needed to be raised, and we obviously had to raise it. We just want a damn budget, he has already spent WAY more than all the previous presidents combined and he just doesn't give 2 shits. Our country NEEDS at budget!
If the debt ceiling isn't raised we default. And Colbert's show is entirely satirical. It's supposed to be an outrageous Fox News doppelgänger. The GOP wanted to either break the government or repeal Obamacare. That's not negotiating on their part and if Obama says no to their outrageous BS the bible belt goes all up in arms over the "black communist muslim marxist" president trying to take our liberties. When the GOP decides to move past the baby boomer 1950's mentality we will actually see change. Because over and over again over the last 40 years they have been on the wrong side of history. And before that it was the Democrats, who had the same views as the current Republicans. Lincoln was Republican. He abolished slavery. Granted it was a secondary motive, primary being to keep the union together, but he did it. But now the Republican Party is stuck in the 1950s with a bunch of racists bigots from the Baby Boomer generation. And stupid breeds stupid.
I got about halfway through the video. You know I don't like those idiotic democrat shows on CC. However, the compromise the Republicans were actually making (Colbert won't show anything reasonable) was that individuals should get the same treatment as businesses and opt in or out of the golden tax addition until we see how it goes. I mean if it is so golden why is Obama not in it, and why are there so many exclusions being made because of how horrible it will affect certain businesses? Colbert won't show that compromise though because it is reasonable. Also, on the debt limit, why can't Obama just make a budget like the rest of everybody in the world? I can't believe people are letting him STILL not having a budget he should have made 4 years ago. If we keep on raising the debt ceiling every single time we hit it then why don't we just drop it all together and let Obama go nuts with every bodies money? I mean for God's sake, we just raised it earlier this year if I am not mistaken.
The MSNBC lady is an idiot. That being said... The GOP is the issue with the government shutdown. They want to block a bill that allows for affordable healthcare to millions of Americans saying it is one of the worst laws ever passed. When it's just not true and it's pathetic to try to block a bill 41 times, bring it to the supreme court and have them deem it constitutional, and shutting down the US Government over a single bill. Regardless of bill legitimacy, it's fucking stupid to waste time and money arguing over that when all it does is cripple the quasi-democracy of the United States and make the GOP look like a bunch of idiots. That being said, I feel both parties are at fault. But the Democratic party is the lesser of two evils.
Ah, the famous moron from the Daily Show. I for one believe in shooting in self defense, and agree with the verdict for Zimmerman. Now that black lady at the end, I do not agree with. That is however, if The Daily Show is indeed actually getting facts straight before airing bullshit, just to be funny.
Onto Obamacare, I never liked it, not one bit. But now my hatred has increased even more, and I think even the Obama people will start to pull away from it, which actually they already have with all the unions asking for exemptions.
Anyways though, at my part time job I can now only work 28 hours a week, despite wanting to work more, because of Obamacare.
