Keep it to IM aPerfektFIaw :p

I actually like the idea of harder achievements, means you really have to work hard to earn them and not get them for simply playing a game through.

they should make achievements unlock if you can't get them after a certain amount of time

i mean, say i was going for the game master achieve in smash tV... ive tried and tried and tried hundreds of times... a pop up should come up and say, thanks for trying, heres some points anyways lol

Well everyone was complaining about how the sports title achievements were way too easy and I'm sure developers listened and changed them accordingly. I don't mind personally. Even more reason to not play games I wouldn't normally play for fun.

I like that sports games are harder now. I always liked playing those games and kinda made me mad that achievements were so easy and that non sports gamers where getting them.

Hmm.. The thing is, you could probably get 1000 in all of these games in the same amount of time it'd take to get 1000 in Madden, so these achievements really arent that hard..

I personally like the idea of harder achievements.

Take for example my beloved PES thats coming out. Not many people will have a thousand in that game. But I will and it makes the achievements mean more than it would if they were easy ;)

Also, makes people play games longer, which I thought would be an important thing for games developers!

I don't really think any of the new sports games achevements are harder to get, they just look like it.

At fist glance Madden 07 seemed like it would be tough, but it was just a matter of figuring out the best way to sim.

I just picked up both new hockey games and they were fairly easy to get most of the achevements. The penalty shot one in NHL 2K7 is going to be pretty hard, since you have to do it in single player now, but overall I think this is a good thing.

Anyone look at some of the achevements for NBA Live 07 yet? They are kinda weird/stupid. Like playing a game with 3 other players on your system. Or being online when there are 1000 other players are online.

Hopefully Tiger Woods 07 will have a few easy ones for the non-hardcore players. Even though I enjoy those really time-consuming endurance achevements. Maybe one day I'll even get around to trying to a get a few on FFXI. ;)

We are just going to have to work a bit harder to get the points on some games. With so many new titles coming out, you can be a little more selective on what you play and still maintain a good score.

I must agree that these are all pretty easy. I picked up NHL 07 on Friday after work. I popped it in at about 9p or so that night and by 2a Saturday morning I was done with the whole 1,000 points.

As for NHL 2K7 I've maybe played the game for about 5 hours and have almost 600 points on that one.

Madden took a little more time and effort to make sure your players had the required stats in SS Mode. However once you got your players half way to the required numbers you just sim.
For example if you needed 10,000 rushing yards, play 4 games yourself and you can easily get 5,000 rushing yards. Then sim 3 seasons and your done.

What I'd really like to see is no simming in sports games for achievements. For example, being a diehard baseball fan I'd love to see an achievement for "complete a franchise season" with no simming or it disables the achievement. Then an achievement for having a batter hit .400 during a franchise, have a pitcher win 30 games, etc, etc... but the key would be no simming, default settings only, no adjusting sliders, and created players should have limits.

But don't get me wrong I love the easy points and boost to the gamerscore, because without the points I would have never bothered with any of these Hockey, Football, or next weeks Basketball games... speaking of easy points where did I put my Open Season...

This is a good thing.... some games are making achievements an actual ACHIEVEMENT to get... but we also get games like Open Season which can be done in 3 hours or so... so its balance

The second generation of games are a lot smarter with the achievements. They seem to be a lot more spaced out point wise.

I'm with U2MOFO. I'm impressed less by a gamer's overall Gamerscore than by looking at the individual achievements that they accomplished. The more of these "easy and cheap" achievements that slip into games, the more it seems to defeat the purpose of having them in the first place. I wish there were better guidelines surrounding achievements. I mean, some games have 50 of them for 1,000 points, while others have just 6. No consistency.
