Both Ronaldo and Messi are amazing players but at the moment Ronlado has the eedge over Messi..
Messi doesnt score as many goals, and he wasnt even in the champions league final.
True Messi maybe abit better at taking playes on.. but ronaldo takes players on, and scores goals.. and can head the ball.
But to be honest we cant really complaire them seen as we dont see Messi week in and week out like we see Ronaldo

Any1 think Ronaldo will leave?
He came out 2day saying he'll make his future known to public in few days
I hope he dont leave United yet he is at the best club in Europe and I think the world at the moment, I think Real Madrid would be a bad move
What you think?

Errrrr, he just came back from injury and every time he got the ball he made your defence look ordinary. If you can't admit that, then you're an obvious fanboy who I obviously have no time for.
LOL - At OLD TRAFFORD Messi was not good - simple, that is what I think regardless of injury or not.
When we Drew 0 - 0 in Barcelona, he was AWESOME and ran the match
for start to finish.
And NO know I am not a FANBOY - "If you don't know me, DON't judge ME".
In regards to Messi or Ronaldo - I could not say, as I find both a joy to watch - each of them have their strenghs and weakness.
Also will he or won't - Pass, but from what I hear a bid of 60 Million is due quite soon.

What would Ronaldo's weaknesses be then?
I think he'll stay this season and then we'll ship him off the season after, after he's regained the Premiership and Champions League for us. By that time, Nani will be as good as him so we won't need him :)

I would get rid if I am honest he is an ungrateful toerag and he deserves to go to Real and get no support from the fans
Get Benezema and Ashley Young and we would be unstopable

Now, this only from my point of view
After many, many years watching UN17ED and the way Sir Alex has them play, I would say the weakness for Ronaldo is his inability to track back.
Before you jump on me from a great height, yes I agree he does track a lot, but for me it is just not enough.
Take for example Andrew Cole.
When he played for Newcastle he was a straight forward striker. All you needed to do was lob the ball over the top and Cole would chase it (A bit like a Dog with a stick), but when Sir Alex got his claws into Cole he turned him into all round striker who dropped of, who came looking for the ball, who would hold the ball up and he even tracked back.
For me if Ronaldo could just add the Giggs element of tracking back, then he would almost be perfect.
Other weakness, Pens – He is so predictable, perhaps he should take a leave out the book of Dennis Irwin or Eric “Le God” Cantona.

Ummm. Ronaldo should just leave now. I think he's growing out of his ego. This is what great managers like Wenger and Ferguson are known for, when players grow out of their ego, they just sell em, but for some reason Ferguson seems stubborn on this. I think Ronaldo has indeed reached his prime and this form will continue for only 3 seasons at most.

If I am honest he can only go down, there is no way he could keep getting better
And if he goes to Real he will just get worse and worse because he needs to be loved by the fans but at Real they generally don't look at what they did to the other Ronaldo

What the hell does the "he wasn't even in the champions league final" have to do with that? Kaka wasn't, so does that make him any worse of a player?
And Messi doesn't score goals? Can I just "lol" at that for a minute. You do realise that Messi was the second top goalscorer in the Champions League this year don't you and played fewer games than Ronaldo and considerably less minutes.
You couldn't be more correct Deadly. What's your reply to that one then Webb? ;)

The BBC gave him a 7.98  ; if it was an 8+ I would have been worried. :woop:
A 7 rating is nothing special :drunk, I mean they gave Lampard a 7.75 in the Champion League Final when I personally feel he had an 8.15 game :p, but hey.
In my opinion and as far as I am concerned I feel it wasn’t that great, perhaps I am being harsh, but that is my choice…….:uzi:
To have so much possession and to INSPIRE the game I feel he really didn’t do too much. I will agree they had 3 – 4 chances and I do not count the chances where Andy Gray or David Pleat seem to think that the forward should grow and extra 4 feet in height to convert a chance.
To be honest it is the same with Ronaldo, when he has so much possession creates a few chances and maybe score a goal and he’ll walk away with the Man of the match award.
The problem for me is I have watched a lot Messi this season and I have come to except so much from a player who is so gifted, perhaps that is my down fall.

Ripped us apart but didn't score or set up a goal? That is my point right there... I don't care if he raped our defense all evening, he didn't have the ability to put it in the back of the net! And that's what matters at the end of the day. The dribbling and skills are all fancy, but who cares if they lose the game and crash out of the Champions League ;)

Lionel Messi however has shown that he can carry over that type of form over seasons (which he has done), while Ronaldo really has had only one season playing in the excellent ranks.
I think Ronaldos gonna waste his potential if he goes to Real, they dont have the team united have. Although they win La Liga they're useless in the Champions league.

Messi has been around 3 years at the most, and yes, he has been brilliant over those 3 years, but since Ronaldo has joined United (3 Years aswell) he has been awesome. Ronaldo has many more years of greatness ahead of him, and hopefully for me (Liverpool Fan), those will be in La Liga. :)

If not this season, then he is gonna go next season, however I think it will depend on the developement of Anderson and Nani, if they transform to 2 great players, then they might let Ronaldo go next season, if not next season then the season after that. lol.

Keane is a quality player and proven goalscorer in the league so you can't blame Benitez for trying to sign him. Just shows Liverpool haven't got as much money as everyone thinks if they can't even sign Barry and Keane :D

I never understood that, theres wanting to advance your football skills and wanting to win trophys. But if you're already getting £100,000 a month (see Ronaldo) why would you want to leave the best club in the world (Or at least one of the best) to join a lesser team for more money :S.

There is no loyalty Bax, only money. Only seems to be loyalty at Utd these days with Giggs, Scholes and Neville. Everybody else just wants the money. Disgusting in my opinion. I would play for Utd for free if I was offered.
I know, its weird.
Keane has officially moved to ANALfield now...i'm not gonna lie, i'm pissed. I really didn't want Keane to go and even though i've known that he was supposed to be going i'm still shocked. For some reason i just can't imagine Spurs without Keane. :(
The 20M will be nice though. :p Haha ANALfield, nice. You definitely need to buy another striker now or you will struggle big time. 2 strikers needed if Berby comes to Old Trafford aswell. You've also lost Chimbonda and Kaboul, so you'll need a few defenders.

Now spurs have lost keane i hope there will be no talk of "yeah we will get 4th this year" because its crap, they may have been close a few years ago when arsenal pipped them to it on final day ( :D ) but each year we hear the same stuff and where did they finish last year? 11th? sorry but they cant win games in uefa cup so in champions league they would have no chance. Spurs will defo struggle without keane, although Moderic is good.

I respect your opinion.
Last season we finished 11th because, i don't know if you remember, we had Martin Jol who had no clue what he was doing for some reason, causing us to lose games...then we got Juande Ramos who won us the Carling cup and got us nearly into the top 10, which i would say in the short amount of time he had, was a great accomplishment.
Imagine what could happen now that he is used to the club.

Glad to see Keano wearing the red, i've been a long time admirer & was shocked when we were actually linked to him. i was fast loosing faith in benitez (rotation + ..... barry?!) however the signing of keano pleases me(though i predict we will steal spurs chants for him) keano being signed leaves me with some optimism for this year. i cant see either trophy leaving old trafford (sigh) however i look forward to some form of challenge. looking down the table to see who could challenge for 4th only everton have near the quality needed (jaoa moutinho is a great signing if they pull it off). looking to relegation the only thing i see happening is all 3 new boys going straight back where they came from as they only scraped out of that division. my predictions for the league are as follows(i put "/" as it will be close, tho the name i put first is the one i expect most....
1. Manchester Utd
2. Chelsea/Liverpool/Arsenal
3. Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal
4. Arsenal/Liverpool(Everton maybe)
5. Everton
6. Tottenham/Manchester City

Was the first time Keane had seen anyone in the team since he signed and, was Torres' first game since Euro 08 final. So below par performances to be expected, however these games are only fitness excercises and chances for youth to prove themselves.
Stephen Darby, Damien Plessis and Danni Pacheco have impressed greatly over pre season and will probably play in the Carling Cup or against the likes of Hull, Stoke or WBA. Too soon for first team for them. Pacheco looks to be a star of the future, however is immature on the ball at the mo' . . . all in all the Liverpool youth team looks good for once :woop:

Nice discussion here, I'm a Red Devil.. and I think we should definitely sign Huntelaar or Berbatov. I don't want too many changes since we pulled the double last season and don't need much changes, but it would be nice if we got some good strikers.

Bentley is a great signing for Spurs. They seem to be putting together a quality team now. If Berbatov stays (hopefully not), they get Arshavin and another striker, then I can see them breaking into the top 4 this coming season.

Can't see Man U ever signing Berbatov, he's a Diva and Ferguson won't stand for it, he never has (Sharpe, Ince, Beckham etc),. IMO Berbatov is slightly overrated and spurs should cash in now, 25-30M for a 27 year old is good business considering Arsenal sold Henry for just 16M and he was 29 (And IMO Henry WAS (not is) a better player than Berbatov). Spurs signed Bentley this week for about 5M more than he's worth, he's a good player but not a great one. He's still young but if he was going to shine, he would have by now. He's a good signing for the Spurs midlfield but IN NO WAY a rep for Keane. Keane was awesome (Wolves fan here) and reads the game in the 6 yard area better than most forwards, and unlike Owen no-one has really noticed that Keane has lost some of his pace as he has developed his game past the hit-n-run days of his youth. If Keane was English (or any other Nationality for matter), he would be in the first 11 everytime. As for "Dos Santos", he's young and completely unproven in the EPL, I can't see him doing a "Torres" and blowing everybody away in his 1st season.
As for Ronaldo, I'd have sold him right after the CL final, if Real wanna pay stupid money for him then Manu should have cashed in, after the things he said during Euro 2008 I can't see how the OT crowd can ever get behind him again. He basically said that if he could leave ManU right now, he would. All Ron will do this season is play average football and basically force ManU to off-load him in Jan or the TEONS for what Real wanna pay. MAnU should have called Real's bluff and said they can have Ron for £50m, no-less, that way if they don't stump up, then everyone would see that they don't really want buy him, they just want to unsettle him and the ManU dressing room and play at being "Big-time-Charlie's". In the unlikely event they actually did stump up the cash, I'd have gone straight for Messi, in the CL:SF (Both legs) he stood head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch (especially Ron, who once again went missing big time). Messi would probably cost Manu 30-40M easy, but with the state of Barcelona at the minute, they would get him, who wouldn't want to play for the current CL Champions? (Other than Ronaldo of course!) The real star at Manu is Tevez, he works ten times harder than most players in his position and he has ten times the technical ability aswell, if he linked up with Messi week-in-week-out, it would be awesome.
(Think thats enough for now...)

Why do some people want Benzema to come to United, he's absolute shite, both in the euro's and in Ligue 1. We do need a striker, but not him. Huntelaar would be good, as would Berbatov, I also think that David Villa would be a good signing, Liverpool seem to be losing interest now that they've got Keane, and Valencia aren't that great. Messi though, it would be fantastic if we got him, he can play either side of midfield and even up front. I also think we should try and get Daniel Alves to replace Neville, Browns good but I feel Alves would be better.

Ronaldo was gash in the Euros aswell and he's the best player in the world. Neville and Brown are more than adequate at right back, and we've got O'shea to cover if needed aswell so Alves would be pointless; for the money they'd want for him anyway. THB It was always gonna go to Utd, they have a knack of always getting what they need, but I'll say one thing right now, Utd need a goalscoring CF, badly.
They can't keep relying on the old guard to keep coming up with goods. If Giggs, Scholes, etc don't chip in when other players are missing, things could get difficult, and considering the position Utd are in at mo (European Champs, EPL Champs, So they MUST have money to spend on transfers), someone could be left with egg on his face (SAF!).

I know, I blame rafa for a lack of bringing in a "Desequilibrante" he may have brought in Keane (which i'm very pleased with) but if we stop spending now/buy Gareth Barry, I see a repeat of last season, with Spurs/Villa catching up, links to Joe Cole in the papers worry me further, however that would be a step in the right direction. Sources close to Rafa say he has close to £25m left to spend this summer(his last summer here?) so lets hope he brings in a "Desequilibrante" with that...I'd even take Quaresma!

Everything I've read about Villa basically says that if he does move club, it will be for another Spanish side. Also, ain't no-way Spurs are gonna sign Villa.
Huntelaar, I think he could do well at Utd but beware, he has an ipressive record in the Eredivisie, but so did Kuyt, and look how he turned out goal-wise. Also, I agree with Stephenmilne27, Benzema is hugely overrated IMO and the quality of Ligue 1 is still pretty low when compared to EPL, La Liga & Serie A.
TBH, I think Utd have left it to too late to bring in any major signings, and what would concern me more is the Vacant coaches position, people underestimate just how good Quieroz was. Utd will miss him, no doubt about that.
BTW - I've said before, and I'll say again, Utd aint gonna sign Berbatov, he's far too highly strung for Fergie to put up with.

As a Wolves fan, I always thought we made a huge mistake letting Ince leave. He wanted to manage the club and said he could but we didn't have faith, in hind sight seeing what good a job he's done elsewhere, it was a mistake. Now he's in the Prem, he aint never coming back (even though he said he would!), eitherway I wish him all the best and will defo be supporting Blackburn this season. The guy is complete quality and has the ability to lead and motive players (always a sign of a great manager). Blackburn WILL do well under Ince.

As much as I hate Liverpool (Even though my Best Mate is a Liverpool Fan) I feel with the addition of Robbie Keane you guys will make a good challenge this year and a Top 3 finish could be on the cards.
He is well worth the 19 Million you paid, shame United didn't have a look at him as Robbie Keane's pace would have made our attack even more of a handful, but it was never going to be on cards as Fergie said he would never sign him for more than 2 Million way back when Keane was at Coventry - lol.

Tbh, I think we have the players to do it(except the wide right and left positions) we just dont have a manager who can do it. From what i've watched of keane, he isn't so fast but has a very good positional sense however he doesn't look like having the extra 15ish goals we need to push on in him.
If you look at Man utd for example, everyone gets in on the act from Wes Brown, to C.Ronaldo. correct me if i'm wrong but every Man utd defender scored at least 1 last season, compared to Liverpool, I think hyypia got 1 all season, no other defender scored(at the right end). The last thing we need is barry, we have 3 top class CM/DM atm with 2 promising youngsters. I think we will challenge...to about december & then we will fall again due to a thick and stubborn manager.

Chelsea confirmed for title. 4-0, although most of those goals were James' fault :S
James was at fault for Deco's goal but the rest were just Portsmouth being VERY sloppy. Chelsea looked good, very good, but it's only one game so there's no point in getting carried away. Today, it was their first competitive game under a new coach, plus they were at home and playing on quality pitch against a poor side. It'll be interesting to see how well Chelsea play on a rubbish pitch in the winter rain, but I'm still tipping them for title, above all Chelsea looked refreshing fluid in their passing game and very dangerous in midfield, when Drogba comes back into the team (I think he'll stay), I genuinely think they will be force to recon with.
As for Utd, it's rare I say this, but that team had ZERO creativity, Newcastle (who I reckon would crumble this season) looked surprising good and defensivly they were pretty organised (very odd for a Keegan team!), Utd just didn't seem that threatening and I don't think they can rely on Rooney to deliver on his own, he's not a CF, to me he's always been a support striker, if Rooney played well it's more likely those around him will score rather him. I know a lot people are waiting for Ronaldo to come back, but I just don't think he'll be same, and I'd be worried for any team relying on a guy who said if could leave, then he would. I think Utd need just 1 WC out-and-out CF who will score 25+ a season, because at the minute, they just don't have one.
I know Keane was biggest transfer of the summer, but to me Liverpool looked pretty much the same as last season and I still can't see the logic of having a £45M+ strike-force and then having no-one on the wings who can give them a decent delivery. Sunderland basically sat there let Liverpool come them straight down the middle, and eventually they got the winner, but in the CL or against Utd or Chelsea, that ain't never gonna work, good teams with a decent organised defence will let you play in front of them all day long. Unless Liverpool get a decent wide man, then I can't see them pushing either Utd or Chelsea for the title. BTW - What the hell is with that Liverpool away kit? It's like a grey carpet tile from the 1980's, it's not just ugly, it's Man City away kit ugly.

If a defender concedes no goals, it's 4 points, and if they play the whole game, that's another 2 points. So you have 6 points from a defender + more if they assist or get bonus. To me, defenders on your fantasy must be good and concede no goals because you can pick up an easy 6 points just by that.

OH LOOK! Another couple of days have passed and STILL no Berbatov at Utd [Insert complete lack of surprise here].
From what I can gather he has a 28m buyout clause in his contract and has handed in a transfer request and has got on his knees and begged Utd to sign him. So what have Utd done? They put in a 20m bid.....20m? Considering Spurs don't want to sell him they might as well have bid 20p because until they hit that magic number (28m by my reckoning), he ain't going nowhere unless he basically trashes the Spurs locker room, calls the Spurs board a bunch of w*****s and tells Ramos where he can stick his team sheet (Players like Berbatov are too ruthless to be this stupid, especially with the hand that feeds you 60 grand a week.)
Now to me, this thing stinks, big time. Considering how SAF cried his eyes out to anyone who'd listen and then went running all the way to FIFA with a complaint more trumped up than a rape allegation against a eunuch, then called Real Madrid a bunch of cradle snatchers over the whole affair. It's smacks of hypocrisy big time that Utd are doing the EXACT same thing to Spurs. They've shown just enough interest to unsettle the player but not enough to actually pay the money that is required. Utd are trying to get Berbatov on the cheap, but considering Spurs don't need the money, It aint gonna happen unless Utd stop dickin' around with Mickey Mouse bids.
I've always said that I can't see the whole Berbatov thing happening. Utd always knew they weren't gonna sell Ronaldo this summer, but if he dissapoints this season, then they can wheel him off to Real at the end of the season and move right in for Berbatov who they already courted and tested the water with. If you REALLY want to sign a player, you do it as soon as possible so that (a) No one else beats you to it (b) You can get on with planning the team asap (c) the longer it goes on, the more the price goes up (usually).
Clubs like Utd don't make their major summer buys two weeks into the football season. I might end up eating my words on this, but I don't think Utd will stump up for Berbatov this window.

Yeah, I don't think Barry will be leaving this window, but considering how good he was in Villa's game on Sunday, I think he might be accepting that Liverpool don't want him as badly Villa need him and he's there until Liverpool can stump up the money, so rather than sulk, he is still giving Villa his best (Some players could learn a LOT from him!). I can't blame Villa for holding out for the money from Liverpool, I think if it was anyone else they would have sold him, but considering how much Liverpool took the P*** with thier valuation on Carson (13M!?!?! Then sold him to WBA for F*** ALL, 3.25m!), Villa just wanna give as good as they got. TBH I've always questioned why Liverpool need him so badly considering that Alonso is pretty similar ability-wise. IMO Liverpool need pacey wingers to feed that stike force rather than ANOTHER CM player to play down the middle.

Our starting offer for Barry was 500k plus Charles itandje, I can see why they are so annoyed with us lol. But their valuation of Barry is based on them thinking he should be the same price as Mascherano as he "is as good" as him.
Liverpool fans have been trying to convince themselves Barry would be a good signing, however it is clear we all want Alonso over him. Barry is more consistent, but Alonso on his day is twice the player Barry is. We are crying out for wingers at the moment, If anyone saw the LFC v Sunderland game you'll see just how badly Benayoun and Kuyt play out wide, Babel(who is a waste of 11.5m for me) should give us better width along with the attacking full-backs, but he is average at best. Pennant should be given a chance as he is the only attacking midfielder we have who can beat the man, but this shows further how poor we are in this position. I'd love to see a Silva type player at Anfield, but the stubborn idiot of a manager is busy throwing his dummy out the pram at not getting another player we dont need. Rafa needs to go for me

I saw the Sunderland game and the one thing that was clear to the everyone (cept Rafa) was that Liverpool were all down the middle, It was only for the fact that Sunderland got a bit sloppy on Torres (who is the prems best player in my book) and one bit of quality got them 3 points. Liverpool had nothing on the wings, I don't rate Pennant as his delivery is rubbish and Babel is only half as good as he seems to think he is, as for Kuyt I can't knock the guy cause he always gives his all, but he can't play out on the wing as it's not his position and Benayoun is and always will be a fringe player at a top club because he's not good enough.
Like I've said before, Liverpool are all down the middle and that WON'T work against quality teams, you can try that all day against an organised defence because you'll get no-where (To prove my point, look at how Liverpool have faired against the other top 4 under Rafa, don't know the exact stat, but it's somthing terrible).
Rafa has a thing for playing players out of position, I had to laugh when he was asked about signing Keane, his answers was something ridiculous like about Keane being versatile and able to play up front and on both left and right wings. ROBBIE KEANE? LEFT WING? I can already hear the scousers on 606 calling for Rafa to walk after Liverpool DON'T win the champions league this season.

We are all down the middle with bog-standard players down the wings, Gerrard on a wing would temporarily solve a problem but his ego won't allow it. We have beaten Arsenal & Chelsea at home in the PL but they both had weakened defences. Under Rafa we haven't so much as scored v Man Utd, however if we get a fair referee (Looks at the disgrace that was the game at old trafford last season) I feel we could do better. We didn't win v a top 3 team last year which is our main downfall, those are points we cant afford to lose.
As for Rafa, my patience has run out with him, the blind support he gets is unbelievable!, I tolerate his PL performance because of his CL success, his stubborness is so annoying, not to mention some of his substitions(i.e at 0-0 v Sunderland, Keane off El Zhar on) but when he goes(and i feel its a deffinate when now) I can have no guesses as to his replacement, as all of the good managers are seemingly taken at the moment.
All in all this will be a dark season...one way or another, for Liverpool Football Club

I must agree with you that Liverpool do tend to play down the centre of midfield a lot and they do have some fantastic centre midfielders already and i don't see why they want to splash £18 million on another one. You do need a winger and i have heard that you are trying to get Stewart Downing of us for £9 million.
I'm looking forward to the Middlesbrough v Liverpool game this weekend because i we had a great start to the season against Tottenham and the two games Liverpool have had in the Champions League and Premiership i haven't been impressed with them, so i'm hoping that we could pinch a result at Anfield.

Judging by their recent bid history Liverpool will probably try and get Downing for some Panini football stickers and half a bag of walkers crisps, and when M'Bro ask for more Rafa will sulk and say that the owners don't understand football because they won't him give more money to waste (Quickly forgetting the 18m they gave him for Keane and the 15m they were prepared to shell out Barry).

I didn't know you could qualify for the UEFA cup in 10th place.....

Very true... I'm quite suprised that he's lasted this long at Liverpool.
Considering they havent been anywhere near winning the league.
They did well to win the CL, but where VERY lucky on that night.

Unless you win the League or Fa Cup! :p
10th Place would be really good this season and as a boro fan realistically we arn't gna qualify for Uefa Cup because of one good opening day result. But at least it's a good start.

That Downing deal sounds like a good piece of business if it comes off, will bring an actual winger which is a rarity at the moment, along with good quality of delivery... however clubs this summer seem to have almost tripled players values on us so i expect it to be more around £15 million.
You probably will draw with us as we are out of sync, but with Babel back maybe Kuyt might be dropped! it will probably be 1-1 with Torres scoring at the Kop end.

I hope that he doesn't last this season, although saying that i fear what will happen to the spanish players, Reina has already stated he'll follow Rafa wherever, hopefully Torres and Xabi will stay. If he does last the full course i think unless he gets the gap down to 5ish points, he'll be shown the door. The owners of this club are actually good, they're telling Rafa not to bid huge sums for over-valued players, now Rafa tells Guillem Balague(his friend who is handily a journalist) to splash in the papers/websites that he is unhappy. This makes all the fans who follow him blindly protest against the owners, who are not bad guys here...they're just speaking the truth.
Would be interesting to see what happens if Rafa wins nothing again this year, 3 years straight without a trophy won't do.

I heard from somewere that Liverpool are also interested in signing Ricardo Quaresma, dunno if its true or not, but it would be a good signing for them as he's quality.
Also, its interesting to see that Sunderland have signed Djibril Ciise on a year long loan, Diouf and Ciise up front, that wouldn't have been bad a few years ago.
And another thing, i doubt Berbatov will be staying at spurs, the fans hate him now after he was caught signing a United shirt :P

I would say Quaresma is more of a central player than winger to, i'm not sure so sorry if i'm wrong but no matter what he is a classy player.
And as a Boro fan, i dread saying it but Sunderland have actually made some really good signings and that is good for North East Football but not in particular for Middlesbrough but fair play to Roy Keane.

TBH that sirt things seems pretty ominous to me, it's hardly like the guy waded through 50 fans to find the one kid in a UTD top then made a point of signing it at the same time he wiped arse on a Spurs top. Someone put something under his nose and like a decent bloke he signed it, if he'd refused and made a big deal out of it then the Sun would have probably gone with the headline "BASTARD BERBATOV TELLS SICK CHILD TO F**K HIMSELF". I'm a Wolves fan, and if a wolves player signed a West Brom shirt, it wouldn't bother me one bit, I'd much rather know that the guy was basically down to earth and approachable rather than some up-his-own-arse-primaddona who's too good to acknowledge the people who put them in the palace they are. If Spurs fans are REALLY up in arms, it should be about the fact that Berba BEGGED Utd to sign him, rather than the fact he signed a random red shirt whilst on International duty.
As for Quaresma or Dowing, they'd both be good signings for Liverpool and pretty much what they need (exactly why they WON'T sign either of them), but I think either of those would cost Liverpool a pretty penny (Can't see many M'Bro fans being happy about losing Downing) and I can't see them spending big on another player this summer as the only condition for signing Barry was Rafa had to sell Alonso for the cash. The ironic thing about Rafa is that if he'd have bought for the future from the start, rather than on an endless string of 6m-ish rated crap (Bellamy, Pennant, Morientes, Crouch, Gonzalez, Lucas, Benayoun etc) then Liverpool would probably have one of the best squads in the world. To make my point, Rafa has spent some where in the region 150m (and sold about 50m, so it's still at least 100m loss) in his time at Liverpool, now if you can't get at least a second place finish in the EPL with that kind of spend, then at an any other club, you'd be LONG GONE.
As for Cisse, IMO he's utter SH!T, seriously the guys got pace and nothing else, when he was at Liverpool, he was AWFUL, everytime he went 1on1 with any keeper, he'd just do the same thing eveytime blast it right and the keeper, demonstrating absolutely ZERO skill and the complete inability to finish anything. The guy seemed more concerned endless dodgy haircuts and self-promoting his shitty DJ sets and clothes lines, give it 3 weeks and the guy will break at least one leg and I can't see Keane diggin' his attitude one bit.
Oh and BTW my prediction is Liverpool 2 - M'Bro 0, Liverpool look shakey but they still have quality, M'bro looked good against Spurs, but in all fairness they should have won that game 4-0 easy as Spurs were a complete DISASTER in midfield.
