New Site Design

If anyone could help out with our new site design it would be awesome.
I started looking at some of the older examples from Chimaera

and started making a new one...

After a while i realised why I got stuck the last time. I totally suck at photoshop :p

The two designs are awesome, but the thing we want to achieve by making the new one is merging the forum and main pages layout to make it look like the same site and not two different like it does now.

The site coding is under progress and we need the design asap.

Anyone up for the challenge?

Not sure im quite up to such a huge task at the moment, having troubles with my own Portfolio website (coding-wise) as it is. :(

EDIT - I wouldn't be able to do any coding really, but i can do Photoshop. :)

I really like the Chimaera Designs... I have no idea how we can merge the 2 though if we go with it (forums and homepage)

Im thinking that by finding the forum design first (or deciding what you want from it) then working on the front site to fit with the forum style - would be the best idea.

Once im done making my own Portfolio website (end of week at the moment) then i may be able to help with this. ;)

Here's my new design. Fits the forum much better
Only need to rename all the layers, otherwise the coder won't know what he's doin.

I personally like it, just think it needs tweaking ;)

Looking at successful XBox and internet sites in general, the way forward is two columns, left and right and to centralise the central column. This way it is symmetrical and easier on the eye.

Yah, looks spot on, just needs a 2nd column for affiliated links etc etc, otherwise it looks awesome

We've got a menu system worked out.

But the right column was for "Affiliates" and "Sponsored Links"
