I can't figure this out, is it something to do with the boulder that comes bouncing down the hill?

Haha nevermind, didn't realise it took damage when you hit it in the head.

LOL.. At 1st i didnt get it... but i figured it out after about 2 mins

Just keep jumping up and smacking him on the chin.. There is a plaster/band aid to show your where.

That was probably the only boss that I beat on my first try. Lol. The boulder was the only tricky part for me.
