Initial Impressions?

Has anyone played this game yet? I was wondering how the achievements are and whether or not it is worth suffering through this game to get them. After reading the reviews over at ign and gamespot it seems like the developers really butchered this game and ruined a classic series.

I purchased this w/o knowing about the 'no local multiplayer' so I regret my decision, but it is a good game and still fun as the original but because of no local multiplayer it's only a rent title in my book.

The achievements are just ok, a 7 on a scale of 1-10 diffuculty, 10 being the hardest.

Because of no saves getting to the end of the single player mode will be pretty hard. But you do get an ach about every 10 levels. And the 1000, 10,000 bomb ones will come pretty quick.

So... Overall fun game(rent it don't but it), and really WTF were they thinking not to have local multiplayer?!

After logging about 35 hours on this game I would have to say it is a very good game minus a few little things here and there.....Online mode is awesome and very fun (a 8 man Free for All on a 20 by 13 square grid is intense). As far as I can see the no save single player mode is one of the minus points i was talking about, but then again, at least for me, it makes me strive to try and get farther and deeper into the 99 single player levels. So far ive only been able to make it to 38. The other bad point is the load times, i think they could have cut the drop scene out and saved about 15 seconds of load time. But other then those 2 areas the game is great, classic bomberman with updated graphics. When you really sit down and think about it there isnt too much you can do with a bomberman game. I'm sure you will see alot more people get this game when it drops to $30.00 or even $20.00 by years end. Right now there are only 3,300 people that have played this game online and that includes all the Japan people that have had it for over a month...I highly recommend at least renting this game and hopefully buying it...I really dont think its fair to jump the gun on this game because youve only played it for a few minutes and havent even unlocked an achievement...I hope this helps answer your question....

i for one have been waiting for the relase of this game for atleast 2 months. Ive been trying to get it on gamefly for almost 2 weeks but i already have to games out and when i sent one in just to get that it was on a short wait and they sent me another. PPL tell me the game is bad but those are the ppl arent bomberman fans since the start. I was just wondering how easy it was to find games playing it with not alot of ppl having it.

I am a huge bomberman fan but the graphics are just pushing me away from this game. It just doesn't seem to have that feel. Also the point of bomberman to me was to invite some friends over and play bomberman. Doesn't look like it is going to happen though.

Well i havent really had any trouble finding a game yet. It is really easy to find a game if your not creating the room, but if you do create it your looking at maybe 1 minute to have at least a party of four....but i always join and in 30 secs we have 8 man free for all in bomberman....what more could you ask for

I too am waiting for this one from Gamefly. I just wanted to try it, for the online play, and sounds like its pretty fun. Cool, can't wait to get it now!!

The ruined the online play too, and it doenst support multiplayer on the same console. Simply put there are arcade titles that have more funtionality and better graphics than this game... and the acheivements are hard. you only get 1 chance and if you lose at any point its game over no saves. and you have to get to lvl 100 which from xplay said was wayyy to agravating.

The game is soo bad(from what i seen and heard) its opts for a rental just to see how bad it is for yourself. kinda weird.

i hate how everyone trashes on this game bc its not the cute little bomberman. Who cares there are no games saves. If its to hard for you to do without saving them thats ur fault. The game is great and a blast when u play with 8 people who kno what there doing. You heard from people who havent played the or Gamefaqs. They reviewed the game bad bc its not cute. Yes there is no console multiplayer and there is only 1 or 2 things wrong with the game but atleast try it before u say its bad and horrible. If you have been a bomberman fan since it came out u will like it. What can u expect from a game called bomberman? You lay bombs and kill people thats all and thats all you should expect. So if you expect more then that u arent a true bomberman fan.
