View Full Version : 9/2 - Main Site "Down"

Just to let everyone know, some members were getting error messages when trying to view the main site. This is what Routine had to say about it.
The "problem" was just that we upgraded the main pages since it was a known security risk with the old version, and everything should be back in order.
You might need to refresh some of the pages because of the cache and we changed the NHL 2K7 name back and forward a couple of times...
So if you are having problems seeing the site because you are getting an error such as :
Illegal variable _files or _env or _get or _post or _cookie or _server or _session or globals passed to script.
Try what he said and it should fix the problem. Please dont make any more threads about it, thanks a lot and I hope this helps.

Hmm, does this only happen to the IE users, or everyone?
I've tried to log on to the site with a lot of different computers with different browsers, and still haven't seen that error message...

Did you clear your cookies/cache.

Might be worth remembering that some ISPs in order to maximise profits use local caches as well, so even if your computer doesn't or is up to date you may be getting a late version of the site due to your ISP.
In this case there isn't much you can do but wait until they update.

I've just tried 5 of the links directed to this site and all of them worked (admittedly a couple are slow), given this I would really think its a ISP cache issue or everyone would be getting it...

You are probably using a proxy server at work which even if you had the ability to clear your browser cache, the issue would still remain.
Your best bet is if your webmasters are cool would be to have the flush the cache on your proxy.
If you don't know your webmasters its probably going to take 2-3 days until it clears out on its own...at least thats a pretty standard configuration.

I have been getting the same error when I go to www.xbox360achievements.org (http://www.xbox360achievements.org), but if I go to www.x360a.org (http://www.x360a.org) it works fine. I have cleared the cache and have tried it on 4 different computers. Only one loaded both consistently with no problems. The one that worked fine had XP and used IE7. The ones that didn't had Win2000, WinNT4, and used either SlimBrowser or IE6.

I am still experiencing these same problems, at home and at work. I clear cookies and it works for 5 minutes or one will work while the other won't.
My concern is how many new visitors are being turned away by problems connecting?

I'm not going tothe trouble of clearing all my cookies just to get this one site to work right, are you nuts? Its the responsibility of the site to make itself accessible to me, not the other way around.
Bye Bye Xbox360achievements.org, and I bet I'm not the only one!

Sorry to hear that. But if you were gonna leave because of this, you were probably going to leave for something else. And as far as I know, you are the only one. Bye bye.

Now now, I said bye bye to the main site that is down, I can still see the forums just fine so no problems there. And you guys can posture all you want, but you know that for every one person who announces it, there are dozens and dozens who say nothing and simply never come back. This kind of glitch is a major problem if you are trying to make money from the site. It will simply fade away and eventually die as people move to the sites that give them no trouble.
Unless you're running the site purely for fun (which is cool), in which case don't worry about it.
