GTA was unique, it created the genre. I am getting tired of people calling it a rip-off! It is like saying every platformer is a copy of Super Mario Brothers.
I personally looking forward to this game after watching the Gamespot marathon, it really does alot of things to seperate itself from GTA.

The demo was kickass and I was fortunate enough to get the one from Gamestop with all of the bonus features (Making of, behind the scenes, etc...) and it made me want it even more. They've got an amazing voice cast (Keith David, Michael Clarke Duncan, David Carradine, Tia Carrere, Clancy Brown [the Kurgan for you heathens out there] and Joaquim de Almeida [Bucho from Desperado], et al) and they're really doing a lot of things that GTA hasn't even attempted yet. So, calling them a rip-off is selling the game short. If you want to be like that about it, you may as well call every RPG ever created (including Final Fantasy) a rip-off of Dungeons and Dragons.

You sir, are a moron and those others who constantly call games rip-offs of other games. If you are going to say you didn't like it, hey that is your opinion and I'm cool with that but if you are to make a post about it and such, at least explain yourself a little? I have yet to have any slow-downs unless you would to explain what the problem is that you are having.

This game is great, I hope this game will make Rockstar make GTA4 even better for us, I am not saying GTA games have sucked at all, they are still great to play but they have lacked in other areas that games like Saints Row are picked up and it is not just graphics.

Games are always going to resemble one game or another. You should not be complaining about this or you'd probably not have any good games to play if others didn't make even better ones, as many or whatever else.

Yeh the games are similar but thats not a bad thing.
Id rather someone try and improve a genre than just see the exact same game over and over,

You might consider it a "rip-off", but I would consider it one of my favorite games. You have your opinion and I have mine. However, if you are going to say this game sucks because it is a "rip-off" of GTA, then you obviously have no intelligence at all. And what about these slow-downs? I have yet to encounter a single slow-down.

The demo of this game was the most fun of lal the demos released so far. hopefully my copy will be arriving today :D

And if there are no 'rip-offs' of a game, then it doesnt encourage the makers of the game to be any more original, or make a better game. Its a good thing.

Saints row IS a rip off. Almost every aspect is copied to the last detail, unless improved upon. WHO CARES! its fun, and GTA is taking a long time anyways to come out with another one. Who wants GTA to keep making the same games and having us buy them? Now maybe GTA will learn from another company and make some multiplayer! Violition makes good games, red faction 1 and 2 were the best FPS on playstation2. Saints row is really fun and i have not seen any slow downs. Just dont care about rip offs or copies, its still fun and makes better games in the long run. I am pretty sure almost all of the rockstar developers who made GTA are playing multiplayer in saints row and loving it, taking notes to improve on their version of multiplayer (if they have one)
