I'm often hesitant to start watching new TV series, as, after enjoying the first season of something, I often find that the second one gets cancelled.
This is usually down to ABC pulling the plug, despite the shows having high viewing figures here in the UK. Invasion and Threshold both suffered this fate, an a few others I forget at the moment.
I'm just thankful that The 4400 has achieved a 3rd season. (Although the first was just 4 episodes.)
I personally was a fan of Threshold and was sorry to see it go, especially after they signed up the hot Catherine Bell towards the end of that season
And 4400 was only meant to be a 4 show mini series, but people requested more of it and they delivered ;)

Yeah, it really sucks. I was starting to get into Invasion and then after the season ended, I was positive they would have a second season, especially with the ending of the first season. But after a while and hearing nothing advertised on a new season, I found out that it was cancelled.

Yep, sucks that they cancelled those two. Surprised Smallville is still going too, to be honest. Glad it is though.
Missed that Sleeper Cell on Wed. Is that any good? Will it get cancelled do you think?

I thought Invasion sucked. Never tried Threshold. Wasn't it about aliens too?

Yes Threshold was about aliens too..
I think the ONLY reason Threshold was canceled faster than Invasion was because Threshold aired on FRIDAY nights.. And Invasion was right after LOST on Wednesdays...
I personally liked both shows. But Threshold was WAY better if you ask me..
I think WAY to many shows get taken off air before They are given a REAL chance.. (examples: Tru Calling, Nightstalker, Point Pleasant)
I personally enjoyed ALL of those shows.. I'm just a big fan of supernatural type shows. Another show I sort of liked was WonderFalls (it was VERY strange but I enjoyed it)
Ps~ I own every show I listed on Dvd.. Due to the fact that half of the episodes they put of DVD dont acctually air..

That's why I love HBO (well that and they're shows kick the shit out of everything on network. Only shows that can even touch HBO are 24 and Lost and maybe House). Even when the completely fuck up and make a dud like Carnivale (it has it's fans but IMO it was trash) they give it at least 2-3 seasons. Even a show like The Wire, my favorite TV show ever, never gets great ratings and even then HBO has kept the show on and in Sept. they'll start season 4. The one show I think HBO might be giving up on too early is Deadwood and that's mostly because of the cost I think. After seeing the season finale of Deadwood last night I really hope HBO brings it back for one last season to wrap the story up with all the principals. I would love to see Hearst's throat fucking slit. I can't wait for Rome to come back on. Initially I thought Rome would be a dog but goddamn it now I'm hooked. I should probably just go read a history book but this is much more fun.

i agree but i could see Invasion being made into a movie like Serenity, Aeon Flux and most of the FOX lineup. still i cant figure out how Arrested Development won emmys, had cult following, got cancelled and it still hasn't been picked up for a fourth season by ABC or Showtime/HBO.

what killed threshold was taking it off of friday nights and showing like two advertisements for the change.
I'm pretty sure all the shows I watch are coming back except for medium but i don't know.
I can't wait untill Tuesday, House and I think Standoff or something to that affect comes on with new episodes, w00t!
