I seem to be horrible at this game lol!

I am on the 4th level and already having trouble. Can anyone give me some tips?

Any help would be appreciated.

It seems to me that any problem in this game when it comes to difficulty can easily be delt with by simply leveling up your character.

Alright, and to level up I just have to replay the old missions correct? Sorry for sounding like a n00b, lol.

Thats correct, and if you haven't got an "A" on a previous mission start there.

Also to see how close you are to your next level all you have to do is go to the "Status" screen and in the bottom left corner there is a red bar that says "Orb", when thats filled you go up a level.
