View Full Version : What would you rather have...

Let's say you had a choice between two gamercards, both with the same gamertag, settings, etc. One has 50,000 gamerscore, with a full 1000 in every game, and the other has 100,000 gamerscore but the games list is a mess with 0 point arcade titles and such with a little over 300 gamerscore in every game on it.

What would you pick? I'm curious as how completion affects peoples achievement collecting nowadays.

EDIT: Lotsa completionists it seems :|

id rather have 100,000 with a mix amount of maxed scores.
hardcore completionists are a joke imo.

id like to have 50k i dunno i like the idea of having a good number in most of my games to me it makes it more of an achievement..

Neither, cos I already have over 100k with most of the games at 1k, MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

Though if I had to start again it would be the 50k account for sure, as long as it had some tough games on there - as anyone can get to 50k with 100% completion in easy stuff.

Once I hit 100,000 I'm re renting ALL my games and trying to 1000 in all of them.

Completion is important to me for it shows I'm dedicated to every game and not just a gamerscore. Virtually nobody notices this so really I do it for myself.

07-11-2008, 03:16 PM
I'll take the 50k card with mostly everything complete even though 100k is very impressive in its own right. In my opinion, completion precentage does count for something because it shows that you took the time to complete the game fully (or close to it). I know you can get to 50k on alot of easy games, but a completion precentage in the 90% plus range without cheating is really good. But thats just what I think.

Iank1987
07-19-2008, 08:30 PM
I would hav 2 take th 50k card as anyone can get 100k if their total possible score is over 200k

I've only got just over 80% completion right now but Im going for 90% before i reach 50k

spankyNspronkle

id take the 100K ... there are just some games i will never 1000 and i do enjoy them (Rock Band... i cant do drums on expert that well) and i dont see a point in not playing them just to have a perfect gamerscore

SooperSmurph

The 50K account.
Once I hit 100,000 I'm re renting ALL my games and trying to 1000 in all of them.
thats what i intend on doing. my completion is not great but i know on many of the games i have i could finish the majority of them up with a little more dedication to completion.

Gotta go with the 50k. This way, you get a good 50+ games out of the way, and then leave space for games you'd like to play and complete.

I too hate having games on my list that I'll never complete. MLB2k6 for one, as I had to return it, and never plan on getting it again. Plus, I don't have the money to spend on renting games.

100K. I don't care about getting 1000/1000, as I haven't got the time or the patience to achieve the time consuming ones. I like to get at least 500 on each game, but it's no big deal to me having games with a low gamerscore on my profile. I do however think there should be an option to hide the 0/1000G ones, or delete them from your account altogether. I just want a high gamerscore, doesn't matter to me how many games I have to play to get it. :p

The 100k as long as the ones that aren't closed atleast have the multiplayer achievements done. That way I can finish them when I want to.

Also not every 100k account plays nothing but easy games.;)

I rather have the 100,000 and this is the reason behind it. Think about it, Ok fine congrats on 1000 quake 4 (almost impossible) but anyways if this was really your account think of all the time it took you to achieve that goal. You could be playing some of the best games out on this system and then wouldn't take half the time it took you to get the full 1000 im quake. Completion of a game is pretty important but, achievements that take around 30 hours to complete is a little ridiculous.

Sure with the 100k i only got around 300 in ever game but at least i got to experience everything xbox 360 has to offer. Not just stuck in the same game forever.

A little too detailed but ya see what i mean :woop:

Sorry Lid, I had a moment of weakness and did the Seriously glitch cause I got sick of boosting that game. Also got Elite on Vegas 1 with the same trick. I kinda wish I hadn't but at the same time, boosting MP achievements doesn't prove anything. I've got 1K in Lost Planet and both FEAR games which takes a great deal of skill. Someone who sits around boosting for Seriously doesn't get any respect for it. I just wanted to sell the two games so there ya go.

I never go around bragging about it or anything, but I did it and it's done. MP achievements are a joke anyways. lol Achievement matches and rubberband boosting would've been pointless and no more "legit". Anyways, that was a long time ago. Gears and Vegas are already two of my top played games at more than 50 days apiece according to 360voice.

Well if I was offfered then niether because the gamerscore wouldn't be my own. If it's a choice between what I would prefer to achieve I would say 100k. I don't really care about 100% completion and having a 100k gamerscore would look pretty good.

The honest truth is that niether will ever happen because I give up on getting achievements too easily and I just prefer to play the game for fun.

The 50k card is tempting but I would probably go for the 100k card. I would rather have enjoyed playing 100+ games and quit them before they started to piss me off too much, than have only played 50 games and possibly have spent ages trying to get the last few acheivements of the game well after i had had an absolute guts full of it.

My gamercard is a mess right now with arcade demos and 0gs retail games all over it but thats how i like it, a true and acurate record of how i like to play games.

I'd take the 100k. As much as I consider myself a perfectionist, and the sense of pride getting that complete 1000 can feel, I would rather have more games played. I disagree with people renting or buying games JUST for the easy 1k (King Kong, CSI and avatar ftl?) so if I were to get 50k and mostly perfects, they would have to be games that I play because I wanted to play.

If you'd asked me a few months ago, I would have gone with the 100k account, but recently I've become more of a completionist, so the 50k account is more appealing to me now. I like the idea of a gamercard with a lot of 1000/1000's, but like some have said earlier, it's more of a personal thing, as most people just care about your overall GS and not how you arrived at it.

I'm actually not full of myself at all, in fact I'm really surprised I was brought up in a thread and mentioned with some of these other people. I don't give a shit what other people see my gamerscore/completion as, and even asked to be removed from MGC... but yeah, full of myself. I'm actually very self-conscious about how underweight I am, this concave chest disorder thing I have, a pretty big nose... and I can't sing very well. Oh yeah, I also have a hard time keeping a girlfriend because I always "talk about unimportant things" (philosophy, life, you know). And yeah, Evil cheated a few games, but it's cool he's a good guy.

Oh I would no question rather have the 50k with the 100% completion rate. As other people have said, with things like Gamefly and such it is all too easy to build up a really high gamerscore simply by playing easy games a few hours each, for me the true test of a gamer is someone who completely owns the game and gets that 100%.
Saying that, my own gamercard needs a LOT of work doing to even get near to 100% complete - and with the lovely EA gift of NFS Carbon, I will never be able to properly achieve it *Sad face*

I still have a few games like that on my current account, but thats either because I rented them and had to bring them back without a chance to finish them or because my disc sucks. Completionist for sure. 50k.

What are the games? :) The obvious answer is that I'd go niether as I want to get all the achievements myself.

Based on the way I play games I usually play them to 1000 if I really like them so I'd probably go the 50,000 account.

That said I don't just play games for achievements as can be witnessed by me still playing games such as assassin's creed where I already have 100% completion :) I also don't buy DLC just because I want to get 100% achievements :)

I don't really care for completion but I do when I miss out on story achievements. Like, if I rented/bought a game; I'd like to have finished the story before I gave it back not just go for the easy achievements and get a large gs in it.

If you know what I mean?

I dont really care about completion, so I'd take the 100,000 gamerscore.

I'd take the 50k because like JVViz, I too have OCD :p

50,000, 100% completion is pretty impressive especially if there are hard or time consuming games on there. It would also be difficult to keep a 100% completion percentage unless you played it safe with easy or boostable games. So with that said 50k for the win.

I take 50k. That game list could look much nicer, not a mess.

thats a good question..I'd personally go with the 50K with all 1000G's on all games :) that'd be goood..:woop:

I'd go for the 100K as it would be pretty hard to keep the 100% record and it would just mess the 50K profile up. My completion % doesn't really bother me, as long as I get a decent amount of Gs in my games I'm happy. :)

I presonally would like the 50K, full 1000G's. I don't consider myself a completionist, but it would be nice to look and see that you've left no stone unturned for every game you've played.
