I dont know what is wrong with it!?

Something with the harddrive is messed up

I try puttin songs on there, but it only lets me put 16 songs!
Then at 17, i end up having to restore it back to stock

And its a 30G!

It doesnt freeze or anything! Just only lets me use a certain amount of space?

Help on how i can fix this?

You think re seating the wires will work?

But mine is not really like that, like it turns on and everything
It just will stop uploading at 16 songs

I get error code -69

And its not a corrupted music file on my computer, cuz i have tried other computers

Its something wrong with the harddrive!

You wouldn't happen to have stuff stored as data on your ipod would you? When you plug your ipod in, it can also act as an external HD and you or someone else may have filled it with something...

I know what your talking about
"disk mode"
When your computer looks at it like a hd

but no, even if i did, it would go back to stock when i restore it
Yeah?

it may have a corrupt file lodged on the hard drive, have you manually restored the pod each time or does it just do it automatically? if the later then id say try restoring it manually, if no luck then check out the apple website or give them a call, they are pretty helpful.

p.s that video posted does actually work lol, my girlfriend had a pod that did that and she had to punch it to get it to work.

my ipod classic hard drive killed itself, let me put on a few songs then stoped and i looked on the pod and none where there etc etc it just wouldnt work at all.

Sent it back to apple, had in total about 7-8 hours on the phone with them on an 0870 number (costs alot) this is over the 3 week period it took for me to get an ipod back that had my engraving on.

They send me one with no engraving phone saying i wanted my engarving,

they sent me ANOTHER one with no engraving.

Morale try to fix it and dont send to apple, all i got was an extra few months warrenty :(

Take it to an Apple Store.

When mine died, it had a little sadface and it means that the harddrive crashed. When that shows up then it's fried and it can't be fixed UNLESS you want to pay more than you paid for the iPod to get it fixed. That's what they told me. I bought a new one with more memory and cheaper than I paid for my first one.

Now I need one with more memory. :(

Return it. You should get a new one. If you don't get a new one. Do as Fox says, take it to the apple store.

I ask only because I didn't see it suggested here: Did you reboot the iPod by pressing (and holding) the center button and the menu button (top of the click wheel), then try uploading more songs?

Apple store IMO = fail. They just suck money out of you. They tell you you need a whole new Ipod when I fixed mine by following that video I posted above.

Im definanatly not getting help from apple. * Bad customer support, they just try to take my money

And what do u mean "manually restore it". I have restored it by the restore button in itunes
