PS2 SOCOM titles........

Do the SOCOM titles work on the PS3 ? If they do, does the online work via the PS3 as well ?

I might have to dig out SOCOM 2 and have a go on that online if so.....

What model have you got? The 40GB isn't backwards compatible with PS2 games, but the 60GB is. Not sure about the online, I'd assume it would work.

I got Unreal Tournament 3 on the 360 for my birthday instead. But if I get some money from my other relatives, then I'll go and grab it at the weekend. I'm holding out for that really at the moment, otherwise I'll get it next month.

Played it earlier and the controls for it are a bit twitchy in my hands. It'll take some getting used to, but I think I'll be ok at it. Played through part of Chapter 2 and I think it's ok. Faster than CoD4 even and I thought that was a bloody fast game !
Good graphics and sounds. Will have to test out the multiplayer later in the week. I'll be back on Battlefield tomorrow night.

Only one multiplayer mode is pathetic, it gets boring fast, and the graphics are average at best. UT3 FTW!

I thought the graphics were quite good on BF: BC.... What I like about it, is the open structure of the maps and that you can blow the crap out of a lot of things and also make new routes through buildings etc. I'm also not bad at being a Sniper :D

They're due to release a new game mode (Conquest) any time now. When that comes out, that should breathe new life into the game. I'm also looking forward to getting to Rank 25 without resorting to getting the Gold version of the game and getting the Rank 25 unlocks early. I can't believe they did that. I think they made it too easy for people by doing that.

Anyway, once I had loaded up the game, the graphics looked terrible, so I'm going to stick both games on eBay now and see if I can get shot of them ! Lol, funny how things turn out.

I was easily impressed at the time. I think I was about 17/18 when it came out originally. The original playstation was the first console I had that was bought by me with my own money ! I remember it well. There was only me and 1 other bloke that I worked with that had one. We would sit there talking about how 'good' we were at Tekken and Die Hard Trilogy and then Crash came out and we would talk about how 'good' we were at that ! Lol, those were the days..... *sigh*
