This morning, I turned on my Xbox, put my headset, and whack, I play, sounds perfect, microphone working.
During this afternoon, my microphone suddenly stopped working, but yet I still recieve the sound of other players on the game.
Why is this? Anyone have any ideas?

Wired one right??
i had this exact probebly i dont think you can fix it. i had it for a while where just unpluging it and pluging it back in made it work again but then it completly broke.

moisture possibly damaged the mic, give it a couple of days and see if it works. if not, you need a new one.

Are you sure the pin is complete? I've had the same problem and it was 1/2 of the pin you jack in the controller that was gone. Just call xbox and tell them it broke down and you need a new one...I got mine in a week or so.
Otherwise something related to problems above, but to my case : needs new headset.

I snapped the jack off my mic when I was playing Rock Band. Check your the jack and just let it sit for a while. If it won't work then you'll need a new one. You can call MS or buy one for dirt cheap, I got one off eBay for 8 dollars including shipping. ;]
