1 more freakin' Pigeon!

Yep...only about 2 hours before the Key to the City event ended but I had to go to bed. I was devastated and haven't even attempted to find that last *****. I swear though, once I find him I will give him the worst death ever. :rant:

Well, I had 100% 4 hours before the event ended, and I haven't gotten an e-mail since.

We have no way of knowing which pigeon you missed. Don't know what else to tell you.

Ya I figured that location website would actually PIN POINT the missing pigeons you needed but no it gives you a miniature map of the pigeon locations that are ALL OVER THE FREAKING INTERNET. I was furious when I found that out with about an hour to go...

I have been retracing my steps for the 7th and I hope the last time. Now I have resorted to cheats (to get the police to back away, to get unlimited rockets, and to restore health....no achievements to lose so it's all good.). I am blasting rockets at all the locations. I have done 1-25 so far, sadly no pigeon yet. 175 to go. Wish me luck.

how about all the ones on happiness island? Some of the ones on the statue are hard to see at some angles....esp the one on the coffee cup IIRC

Lotsa ppl have this problem and complain that its glitched. I don't think it is.... jus go thru the list again, use a check list or use 007 crafts guides online to get a good look at where they're at jus in case u missed one

:drunkThanks guys. I am going to do the last 175 later today. I use to blame it was a glitch. But it's my fault for killing some during missions. Which is why I think it threw me off a bit. I will try Happiness Island first. Even though I am pretty sure I got all six there. Wish me luck.

I used a check-list, very complicated, but it got the job done. I suggest you try firing a good 100-200 random rockets (if you don't mind cheating) at the Statue of Happiness to be sure you nailed them all. Half of the pigeons on there can onoy be sniped off from an extremely strange angle, meaning you may not have seen one or two. I asked a friend and he said there were more than I originally thought. A good 50 rockets later I found them all.

Try a picture guide and look through them all and see if you remember not going to that certain one, bit of a long shot but hey could work. ;)

The pigeons have been hard work (and I did it twice - on the xbox AND on the PS3), but it's surely not glitched. It's a pain in the ass and you need endurance to do it but it is pretty easy at all ...

I used the Brady Games Guide and I think with a guide like this or with one of the thousands guides from the internet this is pretty easy. There are so many people complaining about those pigeons and I dont understand that ... How could somebody miss a pigeon on the statue of happiness ?
There should be six pigeons in total so I dont leave Hapiness Island until I killed all those six bastards ... Then I mark them off my list and I gon on to the next one ...

I usually mark my killed pigeons on my map with an "X". When i kill a pigeon during a mission I also mark it on my map but with a Circle. I use a pen in a different color and when I have done the mission and it autosaves then I mark it off with an "X". Doing it like this I had already killed about 50 pigeons when I started to erase them all and I had absolutely no problem with a single pigeon - not on the Xbox and not on the PS3.

I have used this system for all GTA Games and I never ever had a problem with it ...

Whatever ... Good luck to all of you guys searching for your last flying rats but I strongly recommend to use a system like I described it in this post.

Maybe the game froze after you shot a pigeon meaning you turned it off without saving? It happened to me :( and my mum threw my pigeon checklist out :((((

this isnt so hard ... download one of the maps and open it up while your playing or print it off ... and as you get each one cross it off! easy!

^ The hard part is doing that, somehow skipping one and having to re-do it all over again. I'm usually a cautious person and what I think happened was I was trying to get one and I hit a distraction like cops or something causing me to run but somehow without thinking, I figured I got the pigeon even though I ran from it. I finished the top half of the first island. The pigeon has to be in Bohan or the bottom half because I remember finding myself short one pigeon heading into Algonquin.

YEa... thats wat i did. To be absolutely sure i never missed one i never touched one, and if i did a stunt jump i made sure i failed.

LoL - I did the same when I was playing the game on my PS3 ... I never touched a pigeon when I saw one during a mission and one time I accidently did a stunt jump and when I realized it I jumped out of the car in mid-air ... After finishing the main story I started to do all the flying rats and the jumps ...;)

But when I played the game the second time on the Xbox I wanted to do it quickly (because of the Liberty City Minute achievement and also because of all the socialclub stuff) and so I decided to kill pigeons/do stunt jumps whenever I was near them and I have to say that everything went fine and I spared a lot of time doing it like this. I killed about 50 or 60 pigeons in missions and I completed about 25 stunts and then it was not that horrible to do the remaining pigeons/stunts.

The problem is that even if I were to happen to make the mistake of skipping a pigeon. There actually is a proven glitch: If you kill a pigeon during a mission and fail the mission later, the pigeon counter will be removed but the pigeon will still be gone looking like you shot it but never actually counting it. I can't prove that this happened to me except for the fact that I killed 2 pigeons in different missions.

One of them is the one in the graveyard on the first island that is on one of the little houses by the coastline. I remember this mission being hard so there's a chance I failed that but I can't recall clearly. Another one was a delivery and it's under one of the bridges where you look up and can see it under some rails or something in an alley. I'm pretty confident that I got this one.

I'm pretty sure that I didn't glitch either one of these but there is always that chance. I'm still trying to get that last guy though, I checked all of Dukes so Broker is my next spot and then Bohan.

Dukes is semi because I skipped a few that I'm almost positive I got/rechecked when I was in panick mode a while back.

I too have fallen prey to the dreaded pigeon glitch.

I watched it happen in slow motion as i was blowing myself up right next to the winged rat.

I pulled up right next to the pigeon at the foot of the statue which is next to the Monoglobe in Dukes. Well, like a moron, i wanted to pull a drive by on it and accidently dropped a grenade as opposed to shooting my pistol.

As I was watching the grainy slow-mo explosion i saw the pigeon explode at the same time. When I went back to the statue after being revived at the hospital, the pigeon was no longer there.

I mistakedly thought that it would be fine but thought it was weird that the message "you have xx number of pigeons left" message never came up. So, i kept going.

In retrospect, i should have just re-loaded the game, but i would have had to do the 30 other pigeons again that I had done right before that.

oh well, now my pigeon count is one off (199) and I am stuck at 97.50% Definately a glitch.

however, I learned to make sure I'm not holding grenades when I do a drive by any more... ;)

I'm worried something like that happened to me but I can't ever recall looking for a pigeon and never finding it. I'm wondering if there is a 3rd pigeon you can only access by helicopter or something because I waited until the end for the 2 helicopter pigeons. I did get the one where you throw the grenade up into the little room and I got the one where you go from the train station to the roof *although I hated that one*.

Are there any other pigeons that I can only get by the helicopter or where you need a rocket or just take extremeley long to get? I'm thinking I skipped one and forgot to come back for it. I also got the helicopter one on the bridge.

don't forget about the one in Algonquin where you have to take a heli to the top of the meTv building, climb down a ladder and walk on the catwalk to get the little bugger.

what about the one on top of the church steeple? That one is hard to see even with a sniper rifle. Did you get that one?
