I like many of you have just become another victim of the xbox gremlins, like some of you, who am I kidding, MOST of you, my xbox is dead. I come on for the first time in weeks, play for a few hours and I get 1 red ring of death. Being in the know about xbox, I thought we were covered by warranty as it was extended by 3 years due to MASSIVE failure rates. This is actually the second Xbox that has failed on me, the other one had its disk drive fail, so wouldn't have been covered by the 3 year extension either.

Apparently as my Xbox suffered a minor hardware failure, it cost me £60, or $120 to the americans. Where if I has suffered a major hardware failure I would have been covered by the warranty. So a major internal fault is covered, but a minor one is gonna cost you? What the hell is up with that?!

Also, I find it funny how I can't change my motto to 'xbox is broken', or 'xbox broken' as the motto is viewed as inappropriate. How petty are they to avoid bad publicity of there console? Screw that I'm gonna post this over at every community web site I know.

The 3 year warrenty only covers the 3 light RROD nothing else as indicated by MS about 500 times, when they changed the policy. Anything else and you have to pay. How you did not know this is unknown, unless you only bought your 360 recently.

Thats warrenties for you and every single electricity company does that and only give you more cover for major stuff that is expected to fail.

wow man, that is some horse shit.
if you have a costco near you buy a 360 there. costco's policy for electronics, or at least, xbox 360's, is that you can return it any time if it breaks on you, and they will replace your system. i know this because my girlfriend works membership at costco and she tells me that people bring in TV's like 3-6 years old that break and they still give them money back (because the TV obviously isn't being manufactured anymore)

anyways, this goes for anyone who is sick of 360's breaking on them. costco is the way to go if you're going to buy a 360. nothing like a free 10 year warranty. the only downside is that costco sells most of their shit in bulk, so you may end up paying more than you would have wanted for stuff you don't really want like an extra controller/game.

I would have thought the conditions of the extended warranty would be well known by everyone now but it seems not.

Also, I find it funny how I can't change my motto to 'xbox is broken', or 'xbox broken' as the motto is viewed as inappropriate. How petty are they to avoid bad publicity of there console? Screw that I'm gonna post this over at every community web site I know.

However, this part i agree with you is crap. Ive tried putting in equally harmless things that have been denied.
