Well I know hip-hop and country and the most popular genres to hate so let's talk about some country music. I'm not a fan of the more "traditional" country but most people don't know about the darker and alternative country. Oh and I don't like Johny Cash.
*Edit* Kinda meant for this to be in the entertainment section but whatevs.

I love how this thread was neglected, and i'm glad to hear someone else hates Johnny Cashe's music.
My 8th grade teacher was obsessed with him and all he did was play his music non-stop during class unless we were taking tests so i grew a hatred for both my teacher and Johnny's music pretty fast.
I don't really like country but my sister and dad do, I'm more of a Alternative rock, old rock, and a little bit of rap type of guy.
I tune into the sirius satelite Country radio station day to day for 5-10 minutes depending on what kind of mood i'm in. I probably have only 20 country songs in my Itunes Libary and only 5-7 of those are on my ipod.
The only country singers/bands that i like are Halfway to Hazard, and Brooks and Dunn.
If i had too chose a 3rd one, it would probably be Big and Rich.
Favorite Country Songs:
1. Country 'Til the day we die - Halfway to Hazard
2. The Long Haul - Brooks & Dunn

Looked for a video of The long haul but couldn't find one on youtube.
and
please don't say you like Billy Ray Cyrus just because you want too screw his daughter, you know who she is :p

I'm a fan of Johnny Cash! I have all of his CD's. And Billy Ray Cyrus is a horrible singer. He had one hit song and now he is only famous because of his daughter, who by the way sounds like a squeak toy when she sings and is not that good looking. Just my opinion, so don't flame me. :p
Oh and Parker, Brooks and Dunn haven't made a video for Long Haul, I don't think.
Personally, I like Josh Turner and Alan Jackson, that's the only country singer that I listen too:
YouTube - Josh Turner - Firecracker
YouTube - Josh Turner - Long Black Train
YouTube - Josh Turner - Would You Go With Me
YouTube - Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee
YouTube - Alan Jackson - Little Bitty
Sorry if they aren't considered darker or alternative country!

Do we consider My Morning Jacket as country? Also what about Wilco? I know Uncle Tupelo were surely alt country and i see some drops of that in Wilco. I'm not too up on what everything is considered.

i wouldn't really consider johnny cash country, maybe old school country. same thing with the outlaws. i love the old-style country music, but the country that comes out now a days, like rascal flatts, etc, just pains my ears.
