Rumoured Spring Update

One of the points found at Kotaku here (http://kotaku.com/5008939/rumored-xbox-360-spring-update-touts-motion-sensor-features-game-installs) got me thinking:

10. Mandatory option to delete duplicate titles from gamercard (excludes Games for Windows - LIVE). User disconnected from Xbox LIVE when booting any title until action complete.

Does this mean that any games played twice to get double gamerpoints will then be deleted, e.g. different countries versions of the same game, one of which will have to go...?

Yep, the plan is to streamline all of the games lists and stop people getting double points. Though you could just keep your points but have to stay offline, ha ha! Not much of an option really and will certainly annoy people that have invested time and money in diffeent consoles and copies of games for this exact purpose.

Yeah, and if it happens, you can't really argue against the overall idea of it. Points are supposed to be a reflection of your overall skills at a variety of games, playing the same game twice to boost points doesn't seem to be in the spirit of it.

Still gotta feel for the people who have invested time (and money) in the same games a few times, but overall, I agree with it.

Ha ha, don't be too hasty. After all you can still use those consoles to play region exclusives or boost the same game on. Frankly I don't think THAT many people bother to play duplicates for points so this seems like a fairly unneccessary upgrade.

yea, a complete waste of time i reckon. if they decide 2 follow through with the plan would xbox live b offline 4 the time period?

there is no Spring update Microsoft confirmed it. But theres probably a big one in the works for the fall

I think this is a good idea.
It's kinda' silly to say you got Gamerscore if it's the same game like 3 times.

since when are updates selling points or something to look forward to? this is something i'm still coming to grips with. it's like getting excited over a windows service pack. don't get me wrong, hobbyists who love updates have legit reasons to do so, but i love the console and gaming as a whole, the updates are gravy. if they come and bring something nice, awesome. if not, it's ok, too.

So all those people who got PAL consoles to get double points are practically screwed, right? Of course they can get points for EURO only games but i guess getting that 4K in bioshock because you have different consoles won't happen.

Sorry JDM and all the other Cross regioned console owners.
