How does this work? It says you need to be rank 1 on all gametypes... Is this weekly ranks or all time or what? Also does it mean you have to do capture the flag until you're rank 1 and deathmatch until your rank 1 or something else? Yeah, basically if you could explain it a little more to me that would be great. :P Thanks.

it means you have to be number 1 in the all gametypes worldwide leaderbard all time, you get win points for every game you win and win points determine youre leaderboard rank.
but if you just started playing quake4 i wouldnt reccomend going for this achievement as it takes a ridiculas amount of time to boost to the top.

Ah, so basically I'd have to catch up with atleast 2 years of people who have played online?

yes, its still possible but think of how many people have boosted to the top over the years this game has been out for and he will have to pass all of them, honestly, putting in all that time for a 10 and 20 point achievement its really not worth it.

Just do the giltch in the guide and it will work, just do that for a while like a couple of days or so.

Yeah, but what happens when somebody keeps on glitching after they hit #1? Too much time to waste unless you have massive amounts of free time...sure wish the leaderboards would reset....

Getting to #1 on the leader boards is ALMOST impossible the only way your going to get there is to do the glitch mentioned in the guide...lots of times. Your going to need a few dedicated people to do this with you for a few weeks because the dudes in the top 100 or so I have done this glit5ch lots of times to ensure they stay there.

Good luck...you will need it

My friends and I, including many other people in the "top 100" have only done the glitch enough to get the achv. None of them have done it after that. In fact my friends and I made sure to switch the game type to quickie so as not to raise the board much at all. I'm talking hundreds of points not thousands.

The only reason we still get points is because many of us are still attempting to get the 5000 games played and do win time to time. But if it's a one on one game I just stand there to get the game over faster.

But of course I can't speak for everyone as i'm sure there are people that would do something greedy like that.

We all got it after 40 times each. 5000 games... now that's impossible!

How long ago was that?

I am trying to figure out how many (around) games it will take to get to the number one spot. I am away on a business trip so I cannot look at the leaderboards. Does anyone know what that amount is right now? I am assuming it is doable still (as long as the top 1-3 people are not trying to keep that position).

The guide states you will get 6k per glitched game. So that means at 40 times your looking at 240,000 points. If I knew what the leaderboard looked like today I could figure how many it would take for me.

Thanks!

Well I finally got a chance to look at the leaderboard spot... it seems the #1 guy is planning on keeping that spot? His score is so high the leaderboard is not even displaying his whole score (so he is in the millions or 10's of millions I would guess).

And upon looking at the weekly leaderboards... he gain over 60k.. so he is not only obtained a MEGA ton of points he is still active....

To me this #1 achievement doe snot look doable to someone like me looking to get the #1 position so late in the game.... bummer!

It's a in game point glitch not an achievement glitch so it should be fine.

To Become number 1 right now it would take you 125 games of boosting 6 K points.

I am definately down for it, if someone is thinking the same send me a FR. I am a very dedicated booster. I am from NL, so my timezone is GMT+1. Let me know if interested!! 125 games is doable!

Dont underastimate it thats 125 times 4 = 500 games times 30 min of boosting ;) cause you need 4 players to begin with anyway then everyone wants the achievement so 500 games.

/ps lol im dutch to never seen you on Q4 before you just started?

Its more like 60games of 6k. Number 1 is at 360,000.

This achievement win dumbest achievement ever in my book.

The old game either had very easy achievement like doing the game only or they had these almost impossible achievement. At least they are very rare today. Looks like they try to balance it, of course there is still games with ridiculous too hard to do multiplayer achievement, but its not as ridiculous as the one in quake 4.

The worst part is Quake 4 didn't work for long online, as in 2006 it was already on dying state(still some die hard fans, but almost always empty)

I don't mind if the game is good that there is a long achievement, like the original Gears of War. Took me 5 months to go 10 000 kills, but i played like crazy in ranks(over 40 000 kills now) , some people it took them between 1 and 2 year, but in the end they got it.

But in GOW2, it seems like they push it to a ridiculous ammount of 100 000 kills. Yes you can boost in campaign, but its suck that your almost force to do it to get that, as playing multiplayer would take you years.

And now they pushed it even more, with the level 100 achievement. Im level 32, have around 160 000 exp, and we need near 7 million to level 100... c'mon. Its annoying even more because the game is way less fun than the original GOW.
