How about we start making some video guides for certain or all achievements when games hit shelves so it would be easier to use that and a written guide for all the achievement lovers out there.

Go for it then. :P
A lot of people want to see these happen, but no one ever takes initiative.
DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! :O

Feel free to make video guides for achievements, a lot of the on site guides use tutorials from youtube to help with getting achievements.
Basically, it's up to the members buying the required stuff needed to make these video guides so definitely, if you have the things to make them, make them because they are incredibly helpful for people to use.

for many many many games there are already tons of video clips that help with each achievement. it would be cool if members want to do that but writing a quality guide is hard work in itself. if the guide writer feels it necessary then perhaps he can just link an existing youtube video. Some guides just dont need videos and realistically it would be quite difficult to have videos for each and every achievement because the file size would be huge. Overall good idea but probably not practical

a lot of the youtube guides have become no longer available, due to violaiting youtube policies or whatever misc reasons, i think for that video guides are bad.
There is also a rather unknown Youtube channel owned by the Guide Team here. :) Maybe contribute to that.

Yeah, just like jc said contribute to the existing one, or create your own and start pumping those videos out.

Unless the guide is worded badly, I wouldn't really use video guides. Granted, for a few achievements vguides would be nice but I think following words or pictures is just as easy.

Videos help way more than even a very articulate guide. :)
A video paints 1000 words!

A video paints 1000 words! I agree. I find following a video %500 easier than trying to follow text. A video allows you to replicate the movement and see what to do much more clearly.

It certainly depends on the game. Some games, Crackdown for example, are perfect for video guides. If there's a need and someone can fill it, then I'm all for video guides. If its worthless, then the guide team won't include it. If I had the video capture technology, I'd absolutely add videos to both of the guides that I've written.

There is actually an official x360aGuides youtube, but it's rarely used. I was getting into the process of making a full set for The Orange Box, but apparently my laptop can't hold captures for more than 30 seconds without getting all stupid.

Of course, anyone's welcome to make and submit a video guide for any achievement. If anyone wants, they can even send me a video file that I'll upload onto the official account. (Fully credited, of course)

The more videoguides are relied on, the more users without video capabilities are going to get put out, plus you can't print out a video guide.

Then work with the text guides. Just because it isn't helpful to you personally at this very moment doesn't mean that people shouldn't do it.

I agree Video only Guides just would not work, but I don't see a problem with a mixture.

Kind of hard to work with text guides when whole sections of guides are simply being replaced by videos, people are gettin lazy, no reason why they can't have text and a video.
