View Full Version : Hiding Completed Games

I was sorting through some of my games that I havn't finished yet and it occurred to me that it would be pretty cool if we could have an option to hide games that we've completed 100% on our My Achievements list. It would be similar to how you can hide achievements that you've already obtained on a single game's list. I've finished around twenty games and I think it would be helpful. I imagine that for people who have many more games played than I do (34) would find it even more useful.

Obviously I have no idea how much work and coding this would involve, but it would be another nice touch to what is already a sweet feature. Let me know if I've missed someone else suggesting this or if its even feasible or desirable. Cheers!

Why would you want to hide completed achievements? To make it easier to look at the ones that you havn't obtained yet. Its the same idea. Hide the games that you've finished so you can see the ones that you havn't, but it wouldn't mess up your completion percentage.

Not a bad idea. Would probaby help when going through your list.

Do you mean hide achievements that you have done so you can view the ones left to do or do you mean hide them from the public ?

I mean that when you're looking at your list of games on your My Achievements list, you can toggle an option to hide the ones that you've finished, so all that you see is the games that you havn't finished yet.

For example, I have 37 games on my checklist. Of those 37, 21 are completely finished. When I'm looking at my list, I'm suggesting that it would be cool to have an option that hides those 21 games and just displays the 16 that I still have to finish. That's all.

I was also going to bring up an idea of being able to sort them by completion so games with the least acheivements obtained % go to the top and ones with most go to the bottom so you can view them in order of completion. If its possible that would be cool ^^

I actually think that I like this idea a little bit more. Again, I know absolutely nothing about coding, but might this be easier?

I actually came to the forum to post a similar thought. This site is all about xbox360 games and achievements, emphasis on achievements, so why not make it that much easier to see what we have left? A show/hide completed games would be great; it would also help point out when some of those games get extra achievements added on, because of how they wouldnt be hidden.

I have an idea that i would like, and its that it would be good if you could move the games in your checklists position either up or down to rearrange them without having to take them off and add them again. This would make it easier to put completed games to the bottom of the pile so you can focus on others which you would move to the top.

I definitely like the idea of choosing to hide games that you completed.

So, Bodangles suggested the exact same thing that I did on the Subscriber's Board about four days before I posted here. He talked to some people on the site and they said that Routine is working on some other stuff right now, so its something that might get looked at in the future. That pretty much settles that. If it does get implemented, the powers that be should send that sexy little Bright Idea award Bodangles way.

Hell I don't care about the award, I just want it implemented it :p. That's why I didn't say anything when you posted this. It's not about the awards, it's about the idea. <-- lame.

Lame, perhaps, but true. It is a sweet idea, especially if you're a bit, ok maybe a lot, OCD with your achievements and completion percentage. I just like to make sure that credit goes where its due.

I like the idea, but it probably wont happen .:(

Bump because this is an awesome idea and what I came to say anyway. I have 56 games and 31 are completed. I would love to have an easy link at the top to hide my 100%s as well.

FWIW to you people worried that it'd be difficult - it wouldn't be. The info is already retrieved, it's just a matter of hiding the bits of the page that are already displayed based on some parameter (that, admittedly, may not exist yet) like "completion %" (achs or gs or both) - just like the specific game checklists already hide the portions of the page that correspond to previously-marked achs.

This would be extremely handy to just about everyone, I think. And, being completely optional, it's not like anyone that wouldn't want to use it would be impacted at all. Though why you'd want to wade through everything you've already done for any reason other than self-back-patting is beyond me :)

Throwing this back up to the top. Any sort of yes/no/maybe-so?

As an alternative/extension, what about giving us the option to default sort our checklist list by completion % (high-low, low-high, high-low w/ 100% at the bottom, whatever)?

I love this site but each time I complete a game, it just muddies up the list for me to get around to the ones I have updates to.

While I admit it isn't a big deal, with the admission in other threads that automatic achievement pulling isn't going to happen with the current server architecture and funding, anything that helps the users maintain their own lists that is readily doable is just solid practice.

This may or may not help you but what I do is just delete my completed games from "My Achievements" or whatever. Every once in a while I go in and update it and such and just flat out remove anything I've finished. I've only got a couple games on my list of stuff I intend to finish one day. Stuff like GRAW and NBA Live 07 come off as well since I haven't got a shot in hell at finishing those ones. lol

That would work, but I like to use the MyAchievements feature to keep track of my completion percentage as well, so I'd rather not delete my finished games.

Check out my sig man, that site takes care of the completion percentage for me, and this site just manages what I have left. ;)

This idea is good, but I like the original idea of hiding your completed games; I've been wanting it for a while, too.

I think this is a really good idea, if it were up for a vote I'd say yes!
