How to "destroy the background"?

It seems that the moves the AI uses to do so, dont work when i do them! What do you have to do?

It depends on what special move you use and how it hits.

For example, if your opponent takes Goku's Spirit Bomb or Vegeta's Final Flash full on, you'll end up destroying the background.

Use the Training/Practice to see how it works and which special moves will help you.

Same problem and im using vegetas final flash and i have done it several times and no achievement either :mad:

It popped up for me randomly

Try do your rush attack, so that you hit the opponent up high, finish them with a final flash and they should fall back down

That, I think, is how I got it..

i got it fist time just do 1 of the ultilmate attacks if it carrys on an the person you did it cuts to them saying Darn it or just going arrgghhh!!! the background will just change to the destroyed version. simple

As hard as it may seem were not thick and have mentioned several times we have done this and still not go the achievement ^^;

i didnt say anyone was thick i just find it odd why it works for me 1st time an others have to do it over an over....ah well im sure ull get it soon enough

I think you have to try it in either the Story Mode or on Xbox Live. The achievements says "Versus/Z Chronicles" but that'd be too simple if you'd try it against a second controller.

But the way to get the achievement is for you to do an ultimate attack, make sure the blast sends the opponent flying. Now, I'm not quite sure but maybe it should be combined with an Ultimate Finish KO ?

Have you guys actually WON the match while changing the background. I don't mean to come off like an asshole but by the way things seems by the way you guys are commenting.

My friend got his buy putting the AI in versues all down to 1 then using gokus spirit bomb. i checked his achievement list, its there, when i tried it, nothing.

I managed to get it in a rematch when i destroyed the ground already

You first destroy the area, then do a rematch where you start at the destroyed area, then do a destroying move again so you end up in "space" with the hyperbolic timechamber as the background, then it unlocked for me, so a double destroy.

I've got the achievement and i also was feeling the same way before i got it.

I remember that it was a first to 2 match though!!! Destroy the background on the first round then win that round, then win the second round while the background is still destroyed from the first. If that works please let me know so i can tell friends etc. :)

Yeah, but it's not enough to change it and win according to the description. According to the description you have to win it WHILE changing the background, not change the background and win.

Sorry if that's what you meant, it was just hard to tell.

Its still not working for me, everytime i do a spirit bombright when there life is low, i do about 1200 damage, and the background doesnt change.

How to get :

I got it online. Just destroy the backround by using an Ultimate attack and then win the match. Its probably glitched and only attainable online.

I managed this last night, it was against the CPU in a Vs. match. I used Vegeta's Ultimate Final Flash and hit them with every blast (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I hit them enough that it caused the cut scene where whoever you're fighting falls away from the screen surrounded by, well, white-ness... The background changed from the normal planet Namek to the lava-filled one from the fight with Frieza. After that I just won the match as normal and the achievement unlocked.

I'm sure I've done that before though, so I think it's just a little buggy.

this is how i got it:

versus mode, P1 (vegeta) vs CPU (android 16), set 2 rounds, all your dmg/def/hp to max, set CPU's hp to max, dmg to min, def default (4 i think). this way it'll give you time to charge up and do multiple ultimate attacks.

choose the map w/ freiza's ship. when you start on the ground do a few attacks to have full energy, i personally transformed twice but i dunno if it'll make a difference.

the trick i believe is that you have to stretch the screen as wide as possible. by that i mean you on 1 end and the CPU all the way at the other side, i tried that and everytime i get that cut scene.

do this once you'll end up in space. i did it one more time (i think you don't have to do them in 1 round just in 1 game). you'll still be in space after the 2nd cut scene and after the match you should get it.

hmm everytime on the second or fourth hit with an ultimate attack i seem to get a scenery change

This dosn't need any special tinkering really.....I just followed the example given on the Achievement guide, I did a Final Flash with Vegeta at a totally random point and then I made sure I finished off my opponent using a Button Mashing pursuit thingy...

I got it just now during Z Chronicles. The first battle against Freeza, with Goku. Used Spirit Bomb and destroyed the terrain, did not win with just that. After few more hits I won, and got the achievement.

i was having the same problem as everyone. i finally turned all my stats all the way up in a versus match. and the cpu's health and defense all the way up. i also set it to 1 round. i used vegeta on planet namek. i stretched the screen as far as i could go, and the cpu came dashing at me so i used final flash. finally destroyed the environment. got the achievement after i finished the match by just beating the cpu normally.

You have to hit full on with Final Flash so the background changes. Then Aura Spark, and then LT button mash thing. After that you should get it.

im confused...i did everything u guys said....i tried at least 10 times in a half an hour i set my stats up then the cpu to the hph up and everything else down but i turned cutseens crap off and the drama stuff off...would that have anything to do with it if so please tell me what drama things to put on and stuff before i go on a RIOT :uzi:

i have tried the special moves with goku, vegeta, teen gohan, broly, and normal and in there ssj forms, and yet nothing no achievements, i have no idea what i am doing wrong, but when i do them the background changes

Now, judging from the description, the natural assumption would be that you need to kill your opponent with the last blow of an environment-destroying Ultimate Move... heck, that might even work. Have anybody actually managed that? I mean, timing it so that the enemy doesn't 'die' untill during the 'Whitout' sequence? If they run out BEFORE then, you don't get the whiteout OR the environmental destruction. Would probably be pretty damn hard to time correctly.

However, keep in mind that the description says to "destroy OR ALTER" the environment. Judging from both replies here, and my own experience, finishing your opponent in a way that leaves him in a crater, counts too. So, just get up high into the air - by doing an Ultimate Move Attack, for example - and then, when the CPU's HP gets low, hit it with another Ultimate Move Attack. That attack will continue on regardless of whether the enemy is out of HP, and will finish with you knocking the enemy down to the ground, leaving a mark. It worked for me, anyway...

All I did was go Online with my Friend, we both got this achievement by using Vegeta and using his Final Flash to Kill the Opponet and also destroying the Backround.

its not that hard.while in the sky i performed a persute attack on my opponent and sent them flying back to the ground, and when they impacted with the ground they lost their last bit of health, thus killing them while changing the background.

I got mine by destoring the back ground with Vegeta's Final Flash, then I pursuite attacked them into the sky, and then killed them with a pursuite attack back to the ground. lol I did both back ground destoried and changing scenes. lol

It should be called win by destroying and changing the back ground cause i did it 20 time by changing the back ground then i did it once by changing and destroying and got it. just like kioku did

i tried for the most part of an hour trying to do this by destroying the background and then by accident i unlocked it
it's quite simple and will probably make people feel as dumb as i did when i got it
simply destroy the environment at any point at the match and then when your opponent has next to no health use aura spark and use the pursuit technique(press left trigger while they are unguarded)
the pursuit attack will send them flying in the air and then back down to the ground in the process of killing them and this will unlock the achievement
i did this in versus with vegeta vs. broly my stats stacked and the opponent at full health, zero attack, zero defence and level 1
