How do you start the test of valor / surivior missions

I've found the stone circle like places in missions just have no clue on how to start them. I've heard people saying you have to buy the scrolls but I never see them in the store....Does anyone else know?

in the courtyard at level 2 (the last one before you run up the hillpath with the archers) there are a lot of ninjas. you have to kill everyone until they are stop spawning and a small cutscene plays where a candle at the shrine will lighten go take that candle. Now that you have that candle every stone circle glow blue and you cant miss em anymore. if you missed that candle you cant access a test of valor. (i missed it at my first walkthrough as well)

edit: the candle is actually a rod "the rod of trial"

you really cant miss them the first one is on levvel three and its really impossible not to see it since it glows so bright blue you see it from a mile away (when you have the rod)

is there anyway to restart levels on NG2 or will i have to start the game again because i missed it

Im on my second Test of Valor, and its on chapter 4, also before you goto that test of valor in chapter 4, turn right when your standing on it and then goto that bux near the wall its a huge box looks like a cabinet BREAK IT OPEN and there will be a XBox 360 Logo there, hold RB and it makes a xbox 360 noise like how it does when you turn ur system on, dont know what it does in the effect to you tho but i found it today , but this test of valor i been having problems on cause i have no health things so i am screwed..:Bounce:

Toasty can i ask if you have the rod?

it seams to me that this thred is gettin a bit confused, people say that it glows and it doesnt on mine cause i left the rod so i get these done my second time round, with maxed out weapons.

So if you cannot start the tests then you dont have the rod.

If you have the rod then you wont miss them, maybe except the one on the airship.
