I didnt like the guy, I was rather happy when he died. But to find he's back!? Come one. How? Why? What use is he?

Well his head was technically still attached but yea it did seem pretty fatal. :P I was kinda glad to hear he's back, he was easily a recognizable figure from the first game and I think it's good to have him back.

lol i like how if he is back there will be some explaining to do.

1. He'll be pissed his buddies just up & left him..no-one checked to see if he was ok, they just assumed he was tko & fought the locust off. Then after that, left him..dead & chilling. So, say goodbye to that friendship.

2. Hope he gets shot again. I have nothing against Carmine..but please tell me thats why they bring him back...lol

Reckon that the outfit Carmine wore in the first gear will turn out to be standard gears outfit (basically a COG Drone) so will see plenty of similar looking people throughout the campaign that look like this.

And he'll just be named Carmine in the multiplayer for nostalgia's sake, possibly Leutanent Kim will be in mulitplayer as well.

I knew carmine would be back. That's all I posted on the gears forums about haha. Epic listened :D doubt it but still. You sure it's him? 'cause that's the standard uniform for the COG. Did you guys not play the Gears campaign at all? lol. The Carmine character is the main uniform for the COG army. The Carmine character died in the gears campaign 5 or 6 times...... Shot in head by Locust Sniper, Destroyed by the beserker, dead Carmine bodies my first set of dead COG soldiers by the van in Act 1, Rojas was in the "Carmine" uniform...etc. etc.

Well in the Cliff Blezinski interview he says that Carmine is back but he does not reveal how.

yeh, i think the guys name is dizzy and he will bring carmine back to life somehow, but Carmines brother is in gow 2 definately though. Opening post was funny about not liking carmine and happy he was dead lol lmao. Dom ftw:woop:

carmine is only NPC in gears 1 that you dont pick up his cog tag after he dies (besides Kim; since he was too far and impossible to pick up his tag). so therefore he may not be dead

He is not back in story mode just multi and you have to unlock him by having the chapter 1 achievement in gears 1 so that way you know who he is etc. same with Kim and Raam (Raam with complete act 5)

Carmine from Gears 1 will only be available in the multiplayer of gears 2 (through the linked achievement), and not brought back to life by spiritualism or scientology

Carmine in Gears 2 will be the original carmine's brother.

This is what I read any way, but will have to wait and see for confirmation

Its confirmed, The Carmine in the GOW2 campaign is Anthony Carmines brother, Benjamin Carmine, Apparently the Carmines are a large military family, so we may see another Carmine in The third gears instalment!
And to the people who said he might have survived; a headshot is fatal guys, and being as gears is set in "reality" as it were, spirituality aint gonna save you from a bullet in the skull................ sorry to burst your bubble, but at least you can play as Anthony in multiplayer!

Carmine's brother, Benjamin, is in GoW 2. The old Carmine from GoW 1 is in fact dead.

Never played as him online, I've always hated him. Sure he has a helmet, but he sounds like a tosser when he sprints online, and its a huge give away if your trying to flank. The enemy can hear him pant. Same with the locust, and their heavy breathing.
