I believe RS NYC 0 was printed in the official guide, so this could be real. When he says 'next update' I think thats multiplayer patch, not DLC.

I genuinely hope that you're right, but something about this isn't sitting well with me. But yes, a full link would be very helpful.

There are 2 main reasons. The first is the split message. The first message is 231 characters, which is well under the character limit, even for xbl messages. So the developer could have fit about another half sentence in.

The MAIN reason is the information he's giving. Think about this, imagine working at Rockstar. It's probably one of the best video game developer jobs out there. It's a cutting edge company, which is incredibly profitable, and therefore pays it's employees very well. For giving out this in-depth of personal information, ie his location, sensitive company info prior to an official press release, etc, if Rockstar find out, this employee is fired. And I can't see any employee who would risk all that just to answer some kid on the internet's question because they're too impatient to wait like everyone else. I've contacted Rockstar before, I know what their answers are like. They are as canned and copy-pasted as possible.

I do hope you're right though, that means the achievement guide will be done soon :)

I was wondering about this too. I'm not buying this at all, sounds like someone just getting the hopes up at another forum.

I still think Rockstar will have an event for this. Maybe once they've gotten the early Social Club contest out the way.

Isn't Rockstar North scotland based, therefore it's an English Company, Dan Houser is English, moved to America. Dude just because RS NYC 0 is English, does not make his statement untrue,even though it may be. Which brings me to my real reason why I'm posting, I have sent loads of messages to RS NYC 5 asking him about this and he NEVER replies to any, he hasn't been online for 8 days now either. I think these Gamertags are the test teams or BradyGames as they have screenshots in their guide. They are not developers. But, Fingers Crossed eh?

True. It doesn't make his statement untrue, but it certainly makes it flounder. He said he works and lives in Leeds. If you were creating live IDs for the staff it's not logical to give personnel who are actually living and working in Leeds the tag NYC. Surely RS UK 0 or RS EUR 0 would be the more sensible choice?

One could argue that they might all be NYC, just because Rockstar Games (Not Rockstar North) make them. If this is the case, it is then even less likely that when creating this global NYC list of accounts that you would start with the guys down in Leeds...

With regard to the Rockstar North details, they were formerly DMA Design (Lemmings, Body Harvest) and WERE based in Dundee. Not sure what the status is now. As you say Hauser went to the US. So who knows? Dave Jones could have moved to Israel for all I know...

Well according to Xbox.com RS NYC 0 has silver membership, and seeing that every new account gets 1 month free gold the account was made at least a month ago (before release of GTA). I'm not saying he's legit or not, though he's the only RS NYC (Insert a number from 0-8 here) to mention Rockstar in his motto or bio. And as for him having a UK gamertag, RS NYC 4,5,6 & 7 are all United Kingdom the rest are United States. Maybe the "NYC" doesn't refer to the geographical location of the developer just merely that Liberty City is based on New York.

RS NYC 8 has an interesting friend on his friend list though...

Theres a clue in the title of the achivement. After having spent 3 years on this with the last few months being very long hours they will want bit of a break. I bet at the end of the month this achviement will be released!

Well, out of all the others ive read, this sounds pretty legit and chances are this will be viral, just like them achievements in GH3 and THP8. I (no lie) have a friend at school whos dad works for Rockstar, after finishing work on GTA IV he asked how much pay bonus he would recieve and they never told him. Kinda shows just how secretive Rockstar really is....

That is completely false...there is no way Rockstar would only play with gamertags that had 990 gamer score in the game. It would take too much effort to sort that out, and its just too ridiculous of an idea.

That is as specific as I care to get, as I think it is discourteous to share the exact message without express permission. Lies. Sure there is an all nighter, but absolutely no mention of developers. I mean it's possible, but as people are so desperate for this, they stop thinking logically. For example, when the first guy presented the intial RS NYC 0 messages, nobody on the initial thread suggested it might be fake for a whole PAGE of replies! It's mad, but we all want to believe. So this is the same situation. Head along to the event knowing that it's feasible there could be devs there but it is most certainly not implied by the advertisement.
