I want to know what counts as a visit. Can I just eat a burger and would that count as a visit? This is in concern of the marathon thats going on.

Yeah the website finally decided that I beat the story. but my completion percentage still has not changed.

guys guys guys, the site knows when you completed 100% even if it is not showing up. I was just as scared as you guys because I had completed it on the 17th and had no access until the 20th. but when you DO get access to the club just change the sorting at the top to "date joined" and you will see it says you joined the 100% club on the actual day you did it. stop worrying

this lil line in the rules always bugged me. they never stated how long it would take for the stats to be updated, so it makes the may 19th deadline useless. for example, if it takes them a week to update, then the deadline to 100% really should've been the 12th. Kind of misleading and I hope they don't stand behind it since i got 100% @ 11:58.

Me and an online friend both got the 100% on the 17th. I did it like 6 hours before him yet today he gained access to the 100% club and I still get access denied at 85%. Come on , why??????? That friend of mine said that there is a small list of all the "winners" and that it only a couple of thousand people or less. That's just messed up, I feel robbed and disrespected by Rockstar. I did it before this guy yet I don't get it and he does. I'm in shock and I will never spend another dime on Rockstar products again in my life IF I don't get a key.

I forgot to mention that I also have a friend that finished on the 13th and still does not have access to the 100% club yet the guy that finished after me on the 17th does. WOOOOOOOW!

yep yep they have the myspace theme a wallpaper and all the certificates and stuff you can print out. and as of now there are about 1500 people on the list.. but with the site updating as slow as it is.. i am sure there are a lot more than that.

I've been on 86% for a couple of days now, but I will leave it to update instead of re linking. Anyway I have been trying to do this marathon thing. I'm just unsure what a "stunt" is I know the activity is taking a friend out to play pool or darts etc, just want to know what counts as a stunt.

one saying that they'll check who's eligible and what not
and another saying that they can already see who's got 100% and they will contact them shortly.

Ok, I just got the game on the 19th and registered on the site the same day. Played the game til today and I'm getting some message that says I need to play the game and be connected to the net.....well I have been (I'm only 20% into the game). Am I doing something wrong here? And yes, I linked my gamertag to the site.

EDIT: Nevermind, after reading around for a bit I see that the Social Club takes a few days to update. That sux. =( I guess Bungie spoiled me there by having my stats up almost instantly.

Nope. Can't access anything. I click on the icons like the marathon or police blotter and nothing happens, just get a short description of what they are when I mouse over it.

The message says:

In order to access the Grand Theft Auto IV area of the Rockstar Social Games Club, you need to have played a copy of the game while connected with an online platform account linked to the Social Club and meet the membership criteria. Please see our help section for more information and/or if you think you have received this message in error."

The Social Club is useless, yesterday I was at 78% on the site (I got 100% on the 16th), now I'm at 0% and all my Marathon stats have been reset. On top of that the Social Club isn't very well put together IMO. It just doen't look very nice either, a bit bare too.

lol... keep waiting, but you aren't missing much. If you want to get started on the marathon, you need to do 10 things

run/walk 400 miles
drive 4000 miles
swim 40 miles
do 400 activities
fire 120000 bullets
jack 2400 cars
do 8000 stunts
use public transportation for 400 miles
get arrested 120 times
get wasted 600 times.

It keeps a running tab of what you have done. But thats all the information on the website. The blog is just a universal counter of arrests, police call outs and carjacks with a talking cop that goes, "What? Oh, a donut? Make it Large!"

Still the funniest thing I've heard in a while.

Now my problem, and I'd love comments from other 100% club members, it shows me as finishing a day later than I did, (it says the 11th not the 10th) and ranks me as number 590. The problem is I shouldn't be 590, I should be a lower number. There's a bunch of people that got 100% between 1-3 days after me that are before me in ranking. This actually upsets me more than the chance I wouldn't get a key due to slow updating did. If R* really has all the stats even if they don't show on the site, why is it out of order? Why are people ranked higher when they shouldn't be? I emailed them about this and got no response.
I want my proper place.

I really don't think that there will be any prizes because none were advertised. But you can brag about your bigger e-peen when you are the first to finish.

if you read the stats, its not ranked on when you finished it. its rank on how FAST you got 100%.
Actually... you can check it by both. Time Joined and Time Taken. Look at the pull down window.
And if you look at the certificate and your ID at the top, it lists you by join, not time.

We will determine what users are eligible at the end of the contest period and will take into account our server problems. We can see a users stats even if they are not visible on the Social Club. We make no guarantees that a user will or will not be eligible until we have reviewed all entries. Please see our contest rules if you have any specific questions.

I got 100% and then replayed the game for Liberty City Minute/Speed/Going through the entire game without stealing a car.

I got Liberty City Minute after 8 1/2 hrs, and I only stole a few cars on missions that required it (ones where you have to get a car and can't take a taxi).

here is what the rules say. i think they mean game saves like loading someone elses game save off memory card or something to that effect not your own saves.

not use any external enhancement or cheating method, such as installing duplicate save games or using third-party software such as the AR MAX or Gameshark

If so it shows on xbox.com what day you got it. Mine shows I got it on 5/17/2008 so I think it will be hard for rockstar to not give it to people who have proof like this of when they got the achievement. You would have think they learned from the xbox live holiday crash to have servers that don't suck.

I got 100% on the 17th and at about midnight on the 19/20th I had 67%
When I checked later on the 20th it let me in.
Maybe cause I emailed them also? Who knows.

I just checked my stuff again and Im still allowed in the 100% club, but all my marathon stats have been reset.

I finished on the 17th and my percent went from; 24 to 47 to 64 then 80 then 85 and on friday the 24th it was at 96% and I thought, maybe I'll finally get in. Guess what everyone, I checked early this morning and it's at 0%. What a kick in the balls.

Don't bother telling me how we're all in the same boat. Don't bother calling me a cry baby and all that bullshit cause I don't care. I just can't understand why a successful company like R* can screw up like this. Is it a server issue??? If so, is a month not enough time to fix the problem??? Or do they even give a shit. I really wish I knew the facts and not the theories. The prize is a specially manufactured key that's worth $25.00. I wouldn't care if it was worth 25 cents, it's the point that counts. I finally got access to the 100% Club, so I thought it would be fun to print the certificate you get, to find out to my horror that it has the following completion date: 2008-05-20 23:47:00. This means that according to Rockstar I was on day late at completing it and will not receive a key. Pretty crappy, since I worked my ass of the last weekend of the contest and unlocked the achievement on the 19th at about 23.00.

No matter what, your answer is going to involve waiting. Keep playing the game online, and between 7-10 days, you'll get some kind of access.

Yeah, it does say that I'm granted a key to the city, but hey, that's the name of the achievement too, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had nothing to do with the contest.

I just have to chime in on all of you people crying foul about not getting in on time. And yes, this may sound harsh, but it has been said several times by people other than myself.

This contest was originally opened the first day the game was released. It was originally only a one week deal. Most people missed out on that.

Rockstar was kind enough to extend the deadline by 2 weeks to give everyone a fair shot at getting in on it.

That's 3 weeks to complete 100%.

Anyone that didn't complete the game 100% with time to spare has no right to complain. Because with all of the resources available both in the game and on this site, you honestly have no excuses. If you couldn't make time to get it done, you shouldn't have even bothered trying. Because 100% in this game can be easily achieved in 2 weeks of 3 or so hours per night. Even less with another week factored in.

Moral of the Story: Stop you whining. Quit blaming R*. You all had a fair chance.

learn to read. it's been stated several times that even if your stats don't show 100%, it doesn't mean that your not 100%. Rockstar has stated this.

In my opinion, They should stick with the number on the key. 100. Then only the elite few of the elite few that were with the contest since day one would get what they deserved.

I have no idea about the stunts. It says I've completed 12% of them, roughly 800+. I did all the stunt jumps, some more than once, but I haven't figured out exactly what qualifies as a stunt. Good luck, though!

So true. And now I compare every online shooter to Halo 3 and the Bungie site.
I think one of the most important thing Bungie got right that no one else has even attempted yet is ranked matches being ranked. There is no matching based on rank or true skill on CoD4, GoW, GTAIV... I played CoD4 and GoW very little online due to this, GTAIV I've played a few deathmatches and mostly the co-op stuff because of this. I'm not the best by far at these games, still good enough to get 1000 on CoD4 though, and getting matched up with people that are way better than me all the time makes losing a give-in and makes the game no fun.
All these other companies need to call Bungie and beg for their help.

It makes sense, with the overloaded servers data could've been lost or corrupt. Hopefully it works for all you guys that haven't gained access yet.

I notice how they didn't address your question about seeing stats that aren't showing on the site though. It leads me (only a little) to believe my earlier suspicions and Don Skillz's, that server problems aren't the only thing at play here. Hopefully all of Europe's tech guys have been on vacation since the 29th to help explain why it takes so long to upgrade servers. Can any europeans confirm or deny this?

I can't blame you for giving up man. R* has shown, when they need to, that they care about their customers, but that seems to only be to pacify us. Their handling of the server situation and contest situation was and still his horrible. I still don't get how years of making the game, projecting right on the money how many copies they'd sell, and everything else, how do they have such a problem with servers?
Honestly, I wont pre-order another R* game. I may buy one, if they prove they can be proper and not retards in the future, but until they prove themselves as an upstanding company, I wont give them my hard earned money.

I now know I will never see 100% on their site. I know this because I was playing on my second game file (going for Liberty City Minute because my first game took to long) and when I finished the game I was curious about the site, like what my % would be.

So I checked and it said 60%, mind you before it said 86 and then zero. I check my ingame % for that second file and indeed it was at an even 60%. So I decided to reload my 100% file just for kicks and see if the website would change what it said, (or takes forver like it always does)

Lo and behold it did change...but not to 100% as my file says but to 86...back to what it used to say. It updated that fast, not slow, as fast as it took to change files it change my %.

So I now know my 100 percent file is only registering as an 86 percent done file, don't know why it not counting that last 14 but now I'm pretty sure it never will.

So much for my key and so much for them "knowing what your % is despite what the site says". Its bs, all bs. Rockstar needs to hire someone else to do their websites because cleary they don't know what they are doing when it comes to web design.

I just find it funny that I had 100% in the game since the 18th, and it slowly got up to a peak of 94% on the site since, until I started a new game to get the 6 star achievement. Within hours of that, it's back down to 0%.

What i did to fix it was (well firstly obviously sign on properly) go out into the game and did a side mission super quick and then saved. I took a little while but it finally clicked back and i got into story gang etc

I have linked my Xbox Live account and also my PS3 account to the socialclub. If you do so you have two black boxes with the "IV-logo" directly under your avatar - one with a green square around it and one with a red square around it. You can click on them for changing between xbox and PS3 ...

I'm really addicted to any GTA game but the main reason for playing it twice to 100% is that I first played it on my PS3 and then I realized that there are some things missing ... You dont have any achievements and you will not have any DLC ... Because of that I decided to do it again on my Xbox and it was pretty much fun, except for the godforsaken pigeons ...

For all those who've completed the game 100% and the social club says something different, try out this method...it worked for me.

Load your game
Call up a friend and take them to an activity (I took Brucie to the strip club)
Let it do the auto-save
Go back to a crib and save again.

I was in the 100% club within 15 minutes of doing the above after being stuck at 81% for over a month.


On another note.....major major epic fail with the social club....why give a deadline if you can't hit it.
