Ok here is the map http://grimreapers.org/GTA4MapStuntJumps.png
and its number 18. The angle you have to hit it on is ridiculous, if you go to fast you cant curve your bike fast enough to hit the ramp straight, your bike swerves when I try to turn tht bend to hit it. wtf? any tips?

Don't remember this specific one, but if possible, try a car rather than a bike. A few times that helped me, as long as the ramp was large enough. Also, the solution is often to have less speed, as the landing point is closer than you'd think.

ok well this is what IGN said

You need to hit this jump while going east. However, building up speed from the west down Grummer is tough because you'll need to turn right to hit the ramp, slowing you down. Instead, look for a dirt path just off the north side of Grummer. Build up speed from down the dirt road and continue straight ahead to hit the jump square and land under the Northwood Heights Bridge.

Where is tht dirt road though is it off to the left is tht it?

and btw a car works even worse lol

Look for a video, I know they're out there as I used a couple of them... can't remember from which guide though.

ye i have seen videos, all the videos show the guy coming down the road and curving right although I dont know how he makes tht curve without spinning out, does anyone know where the dirt path IGN refers to is?

For that jump, I used the NRG. I went back till there's a intersection. Then I gunned it and turned the corner (I think I braked a little bit to help me turn sharper). I jumped it and landed inside the tunnel.

its the dirt path that you parked on for bernie's mission..... I think you have to be completely blind to not see it

If you're havin' trouble seein' the dirt road, go to the ramp, turn around, follow the road back, should see it in the middle of the curve...it'll be on the right hand side of the road if the jump ramp is behind you.

haha....That one took me about 15 minutes to complete last week.....I must of done it 20 times before it worked. What I did was start from the street and slowed down slightly when making the turn, then I accelerated and hit the ramp. My only advice would be to keep trying and try hitting the ramp at different speeds and different angles. Eventually you will get it. Believe me I know how frustrating that one can be. ;)

i got this jump first time, i was using a turismo. just drive onto the ramp and reverse back. if i remember corectly the dirt path is in a straight line to the jump.

EDIT: just saw Kez's post. my bad for posting same idea.

i did this one with a car as well, and unlike the video on gamesradar i didn't get very much speed at all. (pretty sure i crashed into the tunnel wall and it counted)

you guys used cars and got it?? i have a banshee i cud try, I was using my NRG 900 though today and I tried everything dirt path and road for like 20 mins and still nothing!! for those who used the car did u go from the dirt path or road?

so i watched this video(YouTube - Grand Theft Auto IV - Stunt Jumps - 18-32) (its at the 5:50 mark)and two things, one he wasnt even going that fast when he went off of it, and the distance he got, i got like just as far today but it still said "not good enough" wtt? this jump is so dang hard, I was using the NRG 900 today and it wudn't work. is it possible tht it is glitched like no matter how perfect i get it, it just wont say completed? like omg this is driving me nuts, if you have done it please lemme kno

1)what vehicle u used
2)which path u took
3)how u did it
4)how far u got off the jump

this is gonna be the one thing keeping me from gettin 100% i can see it

when I did it i used the NRG 900 RR ( i used this for almost all the jumps, and there is no difference from the other model, just looks cooler)

I used the same path as in the video...I came from down the street rather than from the dirt path across the road.

I start from about where the smokestack is on the left side, go full throttle til just before the road bends then i let off ( not brake) so i can line up with the ramp. Back on the throttle and hit it bascially right down the middle...maybe a touch to the left.

I usually get about a bike-length or 2 inside the tunnel to get completion.

good luck

thanks, but still it shudnt take this long, in total for this ive spent like 45 mins WTF is it possible tht it is glitched? or maybe i have already done it cuz when I started I already had 2 done and im not sure which ones they were so im jus doing them all.

i mean the dirt path seems like it wud work, 90% of the time I hit it and get far but only once i actually got a bit under the tunnel the other times i got right at the start of it, but tht one time i thot id forsure get it, i was in the tunnel i probly only needed another inch. some ppl online tho were saying use the road jus dont go tht far back cuz then its hard to turn. cuz if u start far back ur goin to fast and when you have to curve right you swerve, which is wat usually happens to me, maybe ill try to not go as far back?? i dunno wow this is killin me

rabbidG60

if you have already done it, it will tell you. It will either say "stunt jump completed again" or "not good enough, but this stunt jump has been completed before"

One thing to remember when using a bike is that your front wheel must hit first when landing. You could be hitting the sweet spot for the "completed" message but if you land cockeyed you won't get credit. Push down the left stick to do this and watch the bike in slow-mo so it's easier to control the landing.

I almost always land rear wheel first and never had a problem. i've also completed jumps by completely wiping out.

Matt Jo
05-21-2008, 01:22 AM
ye i think i have completed jumps by wiping out also?? r u sure about tht man? well i will still try it, so push down the left thumbstick u say? ok ill give it a try, any other suggestions, tips, or methods, I swear if this is the one thing tht keeps me from 100% im gonna flip

I just debunked my above statement... Just tried wiping out on a couple landings and sure enough got credit. My bad...:(

Now on jump 18, you have to land in the middle of the tunnel. Steal one of the the Turismos from the dealership one block sout west of your penthouse in Middle Park East (Near the Perseus in Algonquin).

Go to ramp 18 and turn around and back up till you are sitting on it, go straight across the steet and inbetween the bushes just right of the lamp post (if no one knocked it down).

This is the dirt path you need to follow. Follow this path until you find a bush on your left and a tree on your right. Turn around and start here (inbetween the bush and the tree).

Don't burn-out, gradually press on the gas and increase the pressure as you make it to the street (tap the gas quickly and then hold all the way down). Gun the gas and start aiming toward the center of the ramp.

If you hit the center of the ramp you will land just pass the entrance to the right tunnel getting you credit for a successful landing. I just did this 4 times in a row and got it everytime as long as I hit the center of the ramp. Any bit to the right and I didn't go far enough to make a good landing. Hope this helps.:)

wow thanks for tht, so i guess i gotta make sure to hit the center of the ramp then. wow thts gonna be hard, and right now I have a Banshee, is that fine? or do I need the Turismo, I also have a motorcycle.

with the NRG....hitting the ramp dead center @ speed is pretty easy. The angle of attack is a bit tough in a car IMO

Matt Jo
05-22-2008, 06:07 PM
well I have tried the NRG multiple times so ill try the Banshee for a bit now and if no luck then ill go back to the NRG

EnSabac

I got this one first try with the NRG 900. The ones that I had to try multiple times were generally the ones where you have to jump over the river (Numbers 1, 3, 34 and 48).

Not sure if you are still having problems..but I ended up using the gamesradar guide for all the stunt jumps..and had very few problems..I don't remember doing this particular one more than once (and there were a few that took me half a dozen attempts or more)...so just follow the video....jump #17 in their guide is the one you want

http://www.gamesradar.com/xbox360/f/nail-all-50-stunt-jumps-in-gta-iv/a-200805021829984050/p-4

..oh..one more thing..I am pretty sure I used a car to do that...one swiped from the apartment parking lot nearby.

Yea..that was the only jump that gave me huge problems. I eventually used a sport bike...after trying bikes..then cars..then bikes..then cars..etc.
I probably tried about 20 times before hitting it. I can't even tell you why I got it..I swear I hit the ramp and highway in about the same spot everytime. Just keep trying is my advice.....I know it isn't much.
