Well, there have been a lot of threads lately that are quite contraversial. A lot of people (including me) have said that this is a family site and children shouldn't be subjected to threads about racism etc.
I think it might be a good idea if there is a adult forum that you have to be over 18 to enter were you can talk about whatever the hell you like.
You may think this is a bad idea but please don't slate me.

Only problem with that is that you can fake your age...

(No offense) It would be useless and wouldn't achieve anything simply because you can change your age in the User CP.
Now, if you couldn't change your age that'd be another thing.

Yea I spose but then at least kids who don't want to see adult topics won't have to. I suposse it's the kids responsibility.

It's a good idea in theory but most those things they see on the news or hear about it at school... alot of the time the people posting the subject are under 18 themselves.
But I understand where your coming from with this.
Only other thing that I thought about this was when I was a kid I was subjected to all sorts of bad things and the subjection to them has only me made me mature as I have grown older about them.
I agree compeletly though for anyone younger then 12.. but anyone older then 12 I think by then should be mature enough to be sensible about these sort of things (e.g Racism etc) It all depends on the individual though.

Last time this was brought up (4 months ago?), it came to the consensus that if something is overly adult-related, it will be deleted/locked, and there is no need for a forum for it for the reason Chilidog stated. Way too easy to abuse, and way too easy to get out of hand.
I said something along the lines of: "The best way to keep adult content out of the hands of minors is to not allow it in the first place."

Sorry didn't really know what to search so I didn't know there was already a discussion. Fair enough though, just have to think of a new idea :p

No worries, I couldn't find it when I tried to search, since it's quite a ways back there.

I am all for this. That way we can have mature talks about things going on.
If not an adult forum at least a forum for only mature speaking.
Like say a thread on the Presidental Campaign. Someone comes in and says:
Goes Clintons, like whoots!111!!!111!!!
That would be immature, but stating why you want CLinton and stuff would be more mature.
I think this is a good idea but needs to be not for disscussing 'porn' 'nude pictures' or stuff like that but more along the lines of adult chat.

If you want a private forum for your "intellectual" conversations, subscribe. Simple as that, that's the only way you're going to get a private forum where you can speak your mind.
If you don't want children posting in your intellectual conversations, talk via MSN or another forum.
X360A is, and always will be, a child-friendly website.

We will NOT be implementing an "adult" forum for all of our "over 18", "mature' members.
It was just a suggestion, I'm not over 18 anyway lol. I probably will subscribe in the near future.

I really think it wouldn't do much. Most kids would just change their age and if they are not able they would create another account, or something. BTW I'm 16 besides keep this friendly doesn't do much really they will still see/hear on Xbox Live. So nothing can really be done about the racism, and the vulgarity.. (In my opinion.)

I was just about to post that when I saw it, also no kids parents are going to let their children spend $10 a month on a site, that they don't really know anything about.

^^^Slow down Cowboy.:p
The Adult forum would never work. In a sense, that's allowing people the privilege to post things that may or may not be allowed, but thinking it's OK because it's in the "Adult" forum.
I honestly don't think the Off Topic forum is bad. Occasionally, we shut things down due to Offensive Material, but overall people have behaved in there.
Regardless, most of the "crap" should remain in the O.T. forum. Having an Adult forum would bite us back in the arses.:p

You could probably just go to the off topic forum and make a thread called "adult thread" and talk about whatever the you 'adults' talk about. If I find it offensive in any way I am responsible enough to keep away... In all honesty, nothing on this site would really provoke people to step out of line and post a picture of a girl spreading her legs, so it really doesn't seem that necessary. Language is to be expected. I'm not sure about other kids but no language at all really affects me.
Or maybe I'm just corrupted youth :blurp

Well, this needs to get shut down. It's not going to happen and there is always the O.T. forum for random crap.;)
