Okay. I have gone about looking through guides of the past and noticed how terrible they were. (King Kong, PDZ). THey are very basic so I redid the PDZ guide. I submitted it.
Now the problem is that there is no notification wheter it was declined or accepted. I think there should be. I say that when you submit a guide, the guide team should PM you telling you wheter it is being considered or dumped out the window. If it is crap we need to know so we improve it.
Or
Can we PM the guide team asking them wheter our guide is ready or not? I did this for Iron Man but I do not want to keep bugging a guide team member if this is not okay.
If we need more members we should hold tryouts, leading me to my next point.
I have seen complaints before by people saying there are not enough mods doing their jobs. Blah blah. Okay I know the mods try their best. But we have thousands of members and not many mods/staff. So...
I say we should hold tryouts to have some more mods around the site. It would make it easier to keep the multiple threads down. Easier to keep things organized and stuff.
Now not just for mods, but for guide team too. I say tryouts would get new staff members and keep the site 100% organized.
Peace,

I completely agree with both points to be honest. I regularly see threads needing locking etc, which I could easily do instead of having to wait for a Mod; resulting in firstly them having a higher workload, and secondly, pointless threads and spam being open for longer periods of time. I'd gladly help out with either Guide Team or Modding, would be a pleasure.

Great points Seng. I think this site is growing faster than the mods can keep up with, which is a good thing. I would be willing to take on some responsibilities, to help keep X360A at the top of the food chain. Love this site, but I think it's time for more mods.

I agree completely with your first suggestion, not so much with the last one.
I say we should hold tryouts to have some more mods around the site. While this would speed things up, you have to realize how much training (not the best word for it) each new mod would need, and how many questions would be asked. Adding a couple new mods wouldn't be much of a problem, but once it gets to the point where there are so many that all their views on locking threads and deleting posts conflict, then there's a big problem.
Honestly, if we added a couple more mods we'd have a perfect amount, if it's not perfect already of course. The best thing to do if you notice a thread needs to be dealt with is to report it with the full reason, and if necessary, post in it telling others not to respond (in some cases posting would only make it worse).

Tryout? Anyone remember The x360a Apprentice? That was tryouts in a sense. Also, I think one could always argue that any site as big as this needs more moderators. There will always be something over looked that could have used a lock or an infraction not handed out. Personally I think the current mods are doing a fine job. Also, I don't see at all how posting in this thread asking to become teh staph will help you become one at all. If the admins feel they need extra help they will find how they think is fit for the job and personally ask them.
In regards to the guide team bit, you should PM a guide team member your suggestions with updating guides. It is there job to work on guides and I know they are more than happy to help you out with any of your guide related questions.

I'll reply to the mod issue, as I personally had this discussion with one of the admins recently. We agreed that we need more mods, as our number of members is growing and our number of staff is staying the same.
BUT, the cold hard truth is that neither of us could think of anyone who is responsible and mature enough to fill the role of staff. We've been on the look-out now for quiet a while and personally I haven't seem many people I deem worthy.
But in response to the amount of spam on the boards, you guys are more than welcome to help out with that. We have the Report Post button for that very reason, and seriously, you guys would be surprised how little it's used.

Like Otis mentioned, the report thread button is there for a reason. I see people complaining that threads need to be locked all the time, yet I only get 5-10 notifications of reported threads each day. We can't possibly see every thread on the forums, so we do rely on our members to use the report function. It sends an e-mail to every mod and someone undoubtedly takes care of it.
As for the notification of accepting/declining things, as stated in the stickied thread in the submit forum, this is not something we do or will do. This is the second time you've complained about not receiving credit/notification for a submission, and it is stated in that thread why both times you shouldn't have. If something was accepted, it will appear on the site. If it wasn't, it won't. Simple.
Which brings me to a better point: members are increasingly lazy. They don't read the stickies and they make our jobs harder than they need to be. You're 100% right, a lot of threads shouldn't exist because the answer is plainly elsewhere. Unfortunately, most people try to take what they feel is the quick way out by just making a new thread. Not sure how waiting for someone to respond to a new thread instead of checking an existing thread/searching turns out faster, but that's what happens.
Anyway, I don't really know if more staff or more helpful members is the best solution. That's the admins' call.
EDIT; razzle beat me to the punch, that son of a bitch! :p

This is not the second time I have 'complained'. I was making a suggestion here.
Offtopic below for The Pants Party regarding the 'first time'
Now if you are reffering to the Bully guide. Yeah I had no idea that my guide was edited, my stickied guide was taken off, and Khaos' guide was put up. I had no idea what was going on so I thought that someone else took credit. This was already taken care of though, so I really dont think this even needed bringing up since it has nothing to do with letting me know if my guide was accepted, since I was told already it was. Long story.
Anyways if you are already out looking for mods/staff then that part can be ignored. And since the notifying wont work, still do not see why, then okay.
Peace.

That wasn't the first time. The first time was when you complained you didn't get credit for submitting Nascar 09 achievements when you just linked some Nascar site that posted them. The stickied thread in the Submit board clearly states we use xbox.com links and only xbox.com links to add new games to the site.
Anyway, if you want an answer about your Iron Man guide, check your inbox.

You've got 5 minutes of more awesome than Razzle had though. ;)
I'd have to agree with there being more helpful members though. If we can manage to get another 20 (throwing out numbers ftw) or so members to be dedicated to helping sort out questions and advise newer members and the like, we won't need to get any new mods, as they'll only be needed to clean up whatever the regular members can't do such as locking and deleting.
Just because a member doesn't have a mod status, doesn't mean they don't have the right to be a contributing member to the site and help out when a mod isn't present. All that has to be done is write an explanation to the wrongdoer, and report the thread if need be. Mods shouldn't be made the go-to guys 24/7, especially not when anyone else can provide the same assistance sans the refractions.
That said, I do notice some times where no mods or admins are online (even Webb is offline at times :p), though that period only lasts a couple hours at most.

I just submitted those as a rumor, like the GTA ones.

Yeah but I am not going to get into it here. I just think they should have gone up as a rumor. Unless only big name games go up as rumor achievements, I do not know that. So if only big name games go up, I was wrong. If not, then whatever.
I think the mods we have currently are doing a fine job. It wouldn't harm anyone to have a few more though.
I agree about the guide thing. Even though I've only ever done one guide, and it didn't conflict with any other guide, it would be nice to be notified whether it made the cut or not. Via a quick PM or a message left on your profile or whatever.
In the mod case, maybe we should do something like the x360a apprentice again? That was some pretty good shit. :p

I wasnt around during that time but it needs to come back. Seriously. The site is flooded with new members, but not with enough mods.

Seng, get over yourself. You appointed yourself King of the Bully Forum when it came out and said some really rude things in the Complaint forum about the mods "not doing their jobs" and now the whole situation is coming back up for some reason.
We'll decide if and when we need extra help.
