Why does every host use auto-aim?

Because I absolutely hate it. Yes its OK for Co-Op but not in an adverserial mode. Whenever I host I always turn it off but people always complain and try and boot me. Does anybody else agree that auto-aim is for n00bs.

ye i think auto aim is for noobs i love auto aim in single player but in multiplayer i think its very bad. If auto aim is on i wouldent get in cars as its so easy to be killed and i also hate when people try to kick you out of your own game if you dont like it leave lol.

i turn it off and the gamertag and the blips so u dont know who nobody is lol kinda fun but ppl get annoyed cos there not so good without auto aim and knowing where everyone is so they end up leaving..

I like auto aim. It's not like this game is a FPS like COD4. Free aim just feels weird. Maybe if it felt like other FPS I would like to keep it off.

Thats exactly what I do. No blips, no health reticule, no auto-aim and friendly fire on. I just tell people that if they don't like it to jog-on.

The health reticule is the colored circle which appears on the cross hair while aiming at a person indicating that person's health.

If you turn it off, you can't see how much health other people have left.

i prefer not to have auto aim in most games in multiplayer and i will eventually in this but im still getting used to it, only played a few online games. i dont think its fair to say everyone wanting auto aim is a noob though as like someone said above its not a fps and the aiming system without auto aim isnt exaclty awesome.

Onething I've noticed, every time I turn the auto aim off, The RPG becomes the weapon of choice for most players. So pick your poison. They start launching rockets like crazy.

Auto Aim is part of the game I have had games with it turned on and all you hear is people complain about auto aim on. If auto aim is turned off they complain about rocket launchers, etc. There is really no win situation and it is impossible to please everyone.

people are babies , I get so sick of the first thing people do when they enter a room is start making demands on the host for what settings they want. its really lame...just play the game or leave the room. auto aim or not doesnt matter. I play with it both ways.. and to use it properly does take some skill. I die much less in a game with auto aim on then i do in one with it off.

Did it occur to anyone that most people use auto-aim to make getting the kill 20 people with a pistol achievement easier?? That and the kill 5 not on your team achiev. Everyone ive seen using this in their room has stated that to be the reason and I dont blame them one bit....this is an achievement website.....right?

It doesn't matter if there's auto-aim or not. Having it on has its advantages, and having it off has its advantages. Particularly I like that when you have it on the pistol is much more effective, so you're not encouraged to whore out powerful weapons as much.

Now, to anybody who's talking about having more skill because they turn it off, don't assume that you're better than somebody because they're using auto-aim. The other day I was hosting a ranked cops-n-crooks, waiting with my friend for some people to join. Two guys came in, one of them sent me a message calling me a cunt and telling me he wouldn't play until auto-aim was off. So after a minute I turned it off and we did a 2 on 2. He probably felt like an idiot after we beat him both rounds.

To be fair they both suck, that's why you don't play deathmatch, i just play the ones that involve cars the auto aim doesn't work in those.

Finally somebody gets it. I tried to explain this to people online but folks don't get that. This isn't Call of Duty 4. The character models are so much smaller than a Halo or COD4 so it doesn't make sense to me to put auto-aim off.

PLUS...we all are trying to level up aren't we. If you are a beast with auto-aim off then you should mop the floor with everyone when it's on geniuses. You can't level up unless you get the money.

Auto-aim = More $$$

i only like auto aim on for co-op missions and single player, anything competitive like deathmatch and cops n crooks i like it turned off because it easily gives out your location

the answer is quite easy, the host sucks and can't shoot for crap. Have pity on them dude, not everybody has skill like others. Specially in this game, free-aim is kinda hard in this game

The host uses auto-aim because auto-aim is a feature to be used in the game, why does it matter, if you can shoot free-aim then auto-aiming players shouldn't bother you as you can shoot them from outside their range. As an above poster said, the models are much smaller than on COD4 or other FPS games, which BTW, this game is NOT, so auto-aim is a godsend. I use auto-aim and I don't care what people think of me for it.

There's nothing wrong with Auto Aim. The developers said so themselves in their multiplayer guide.

i dont see what people problem is with auto aim. Makes it easy to get money and stuff and it not like this game is ment to be played like cod 4 or anything. And it makes games more even.
