Pigeon Glitch!

Just wondering if anyone else had had any pigeons missing.

I've taken the time to go through all the pigeons marking them off as I go along. It says I have one left. I should have one left according to my print out so its correct. BUT bird "188" is missing. (Farthest East island just under the free way right under "187")

Before you bombard me with descriptions - I know exactly where is should be, its just not there. - Opposite 'Mr Fuk's', on the corner of the rooftop of the building that's for sale. - From standing on the 'Mr Fuk's" building 2 floors down in the corner near the plant.

Sooo shit.. what a piss off. Took me a long time to get the other 199! I'll keep checking back. Hopefully it corrects itself.

I had some trouble with the description of this one as well, but I was standing in front of Mr. Fuk's shop, and across from his building there's like an apartment building with balconies. It's on one of the balconies and you can actually see it from the street.

Also be carful, I noticed the one at the airport control tower would not "show up" until I was close enough.

I tried to snipe it from far away but is was never there, so I got closer and closer until it was there.

If I remove my memory card and start a new game.. go straight to that spot. It's there. I know I've never shot it in my other game. I went through 1 - 200 marking them off. 187 & 188 were my last 2. I made sure I never blasted any random s whilst playing so I could go through and do it properly. Ahh its my lot in life... shit like this happens to me all the time.. thanks for the advice anyway.

This happened to me with the 21st Bird on the games radar list. Looks like I'll just have to start the game again:mad:

I hope to hell that this does ot happen to me I am at number 8 on the gamesradar list so I haope that I will not have this much toruble with it when I go to try and finnish off all of my other pidgeons tommorrow.

I've just been through them all. Marking them off one by one and apparently I now have 2 left! I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THEY COULD BE!!!! ARGHH!!!!!!!

Besides the fact that I know I ticked them all off one at a time, 187 & 188 are so close to each other that there is no way I would have shot on and not the other at the same time...

I just had a Pigeon Glitch!!!

Ok, I have killed 4 already. I have the guide book they are marked off, and sorted out. Now I went to Alderney(sp?)-far left Island(West). There are 53 birds there. I started going threw them, no problem everything pops up and is counting right. Then somewhere between 20 and 30 something happened. I didnt notice til I shot number 30(I was gonna quit there for the night) and it said 167 birds left. That means I only got 33. Which is wrong, I had 4 and got 30 more so it should be 34 or 166 left. I went back threw them, none were there. So it lost count somewhere.

The ONLY thing I can come up with is that I shot 2 close together and the message was still on the screen for the 1st one and never registered the second one. Thants all I can guess. I will check it out again tomorrow, and make sure to wait and left the messages disappear before I shot another 1.

EDIT - Looks like you have been looking at the same pic! I've had a trouble with a couple of them, like 153 etc... they are there somewhere.

one is on the awning of mr fuks (walk to the edge of the building he's standing on in tha pic and look down)

the other is across the street to the left of mr fuks on the first cloor roof.

the one I was missing was on the free way, and got it accidentally while runnng from the cops.. the car I was in exploded on it.:uzi:

if none of that works try going to tw@ and entering the web address whattheydidntwantyoutoknow.com )i think thats it and it will show on your map the last pidgeon you need just so you can double check it is that one you need with the game ;)

Thanks for trying to help guys, appreciate it. The internet thing doesn't work though (Thought of that already) It doesn't make them disappear as you kill them. The whole 200 are always there.

Also I do know where "188" is supposed to be.. I started a new game and if I go there.. its there. Its just not there in my 97% game and I know I didn't shoot it. Thanx anyhoo... I'll figure something out. :woop:

Ahhhhh maybe its not a glitch after all. Maybe I'm just an idiot. I just found a final bird after going back over them. I'm sure I didn't shoot 188 and did shoot the other that it ended up being.. marked them as I went along.. but a guess I cant be 100% now that I've found it. Sorry Rockstar its probably more likely that I am the fool. Cheers for your input though guys.

I think this thread could be a good lesson to anybody else stuck with pigeons ;)

I got through the pigeons ok, but came unstuck after a stunt jump when I forgot to save.

These are time consuming achievments, but I think it's worth it. Especially as you should get your key to the city now!

Well I hope my stoopidity can help people. I realise now that its easy to blame your stuff up on a glitch... I reading a lot of people stating that they are having trouble with the birds... I honestly believe now that it was my fault, too quick to blame a glitch. With 200 its easy to get confused I guess.. especially with the amount of alcohol i consume. ;)

if i shot a pigeon and knew i shot it... i crossed it off my list, but if i got to a pigeon that didn't seem to be there, (because i did accidentally kill a few while playing through the story) i would circle it on my checklist instead of just crossing it off... that way after i had finished them all and was still coming up short one or two, i knew the questionable ones to go check out again... this technique saved my ass in assassins creed too because i sure had to go back to some areas to check for those damn flags that i couldnt find my first time through

Well i got the 200 pigeons.. Got the achievement but couldnt save my game because it said i was in a misson. Which i clearly was not. So i had to redo it all over for the 100%.

i'm doing the same thing as bobo, i'm crossing off the ones i kill while going through the guide, and circling the ones i don't find and have a doubt that i already did them while playing the story mode. that way if i'm short i can come back to those, and i also did that in assassins creed

You think you have it bad? I should only have 88 pigeons left, that I am going to knock out tonight. The game has only registered 110 pigeons shot. I know that I shot 112 of those things last night, as I kept a tally sheet. So now I have to go back and hope the two it didn't register will be there.

I finally found that damn thing.
It was in BEACHGATE portion of the first island; the one on the porch of the house near the southern most part of the map.
I had checked that area a few times before and was beginning to suspect that there was a glitch going on, when I realized I was checking the front porch...
THE PIGEON WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE BACK PORCH!!!
Sure enough, the little bugger was perched on the railing all along. Argh.

Up until that moment, I was so confident that there was a glitch too...
So for everyone else out there, if you want to find those last pigeons you need to put in the ridiculous amount of extra time required.
(I was probably searching for 6+ hours for that last one)

Make damn sure you're not looking at the the front porch, when you know you need to search the back.
Or in general, make it absolutely sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the pigeon is not there before moving on.

I'm glad i haven't seen more threads like this earlier, indicating that there's not likely to be a glitch as more people would have found it by now (like BTB2), i perposly left all 200 untouched untill the end and reloaded if i killed one by accident. Hopefully this won't be a problem for me, just need to find a good locations map (with pics), i still need to check the locations thread so i'm sure its there by now.

Pigeon glitch = if you blow yourself up along with a pigeon it will NOT register. And if you save you will have to startt a new game.

Also avoid shooting random pigeons, because this will only cause the downfall of your sanity.

tip* save at a safe house every 20-25 pigeons. in case of power outage, screwing up, or 360 issues.
