...and is one of the worst games I have ever played. How could any company release this piece of shit. The movie was unreal and the game is a complete pile of monkey jizz. The guy who said "save your money" is absolutely right. Luckily, I got this shit from gamefly and didn't really waste any money except for the 70 cents it cost me to keep this garbage for a day and send it back. I hope someone does a better job with the Hulk game because this game sucks so much ass I am going to crack the disc and send it back so no one else has to suffer like I did.

WOw, really? I played the demo and didn't think it was that bad. Is the full game really that horrible? Whats so bad about it?
How bout for achieves? Easy or hard?

Actually you will save yourself so much frustration and anger if you begin the game on easy first before tackling formidable difficulty.

I tried like I always do to begin the game on the hardest difficulty a game will allow me to, but nope this game doesn't work like that. I am sure you could beat the game on hard with a lot of practice and time but doing the game on easy will unlock your better suits and give you an easier time in doing so.

This would be a good post if you told us WHY it sucked. We get it you wrote a whole paragraph saying it sucked. BUT why does it suck? Hmm? I do not get it. Is it the fighting? The graphics? The sound?

Here's a few reasons....

1. The flight controls are terrible - you can only accurately shoot at what you want to hit when you are hovering around in circles (strafing around target) and in the meantime you are getting bombarded with missiles and AA turrets which will make you drop in no time.
2. The flight controls are terrible - you want to go one way but you want to look around at the same time but can't because you crash into a building or a mountain side when you go spiraling out of control.
3. There game only contains tanks, planes, helicopters, pitiful soldiers, and turrets and they shoot non-stop with unbelievable accuracy.
4. The graphics are not 360 quality graphics (looks like they ported from the ps2).
5. After playing it feels like you just wasted your time.
6. Where are all of Iron Man's cool gadgets? All he has is missiles and a repulsor beam...
7. When playing on formidable you must go one step at a time and hide or else you will die in about 15 sec. when flying around. Iron Man is supposed to be a badass and this tactic takes the fun out of the game.
8. Each level strays further and further from the movie's plot and each level gets more and more ridiculous in terms of enemy count and their accuracy. It DOES get hard on level 6.

This list could probably go on if I finished the game...

I meant unreal in a good way...I like Iron Man as a character and the movie was way beyond my expectations (as good if not better than the first Spidey movie). The game is still atrocious....I don't know why I thought it would be any different, its a movie game.

I'm playing the game right now, and the game doesn't suck. You probably think it sucks, cause you don't know how to use the controls or you think the controls are too hard to use, this game doesn't suck, it's not great, but I like it. Once I got a hold of the controls and everything, I started liking it.

And to Molneze the achievments are pretty easy, I just finished the first 3 missions and I've unlocked 4 achievments for a total of 70GS points, so I would say the achievments are rather easy.

1. The flight controls are terrible - you can only accurately shoot at what you want to hit when you are hovering around in circles (strafing around target) and in the meantime you are getting bombarded with missiles and AA turrets which will make you drop in no time.
2. The flight controls are terrible - you want to go one way but you want to look around at the same time but can't because you crash into a building or a mountain side when you go spiraling out of control.I've only played the demo so far and I've been trying to decide whether to buy the full game or not and the first two points pretty much describe why I'm so unsure of it. I've played the demo maybe 3 or 4 times, I really want to like it and I don't hate it but the controls are very tough to master.

However I think some of your points are somewhat nit-picky.
4. The graphics are not 360 quality graphics (looks like they ported from the ps2).I disagree here. I thought the graphics were really good to be honest. Not excellent, but certainly better than PS2 and good enough for me not to discount the game outright.

5. After playing it feels like you just wasted your time.Yes, it's a game. They aren't there to give our lives meaning.

7. When playing on formidable you must go one step at a time and hide or else you will die in about 15 sec. when flying around. Iron Man is supposed to be a badass and this tactic takes the fun out of the game. You aren't supposed to start the game on Formidable difficulty, it should be hard.

6. Where are all of Iron Man's cool gadgets? All he has is missiles and a repulsor beam...
8. Each level strays further and further from the movie's plot and each level gets more and more ridiculous in terms of enemy count and their accuracy. It DOES get hard on level 6.I don't necessarily think the game should follow the movie plot 100%, the movie isn't a fantastic adaptation of the comics. I see the game as a mix of both the comic and movie Iron Man, in the comics he rarely used anything other than beams and missiles.

That is the lamest excuse ever. Honestly, just because its based on a comic book, we're supposed to except that fact that never ending planes and helicopters are always bombarding you with missiles, and enemies on the ground have unrealistic accuracy? Just because its based on a comic book, we're supposed to except the fact that you'll always die within minutes due to said facts? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard...

I agree with the OP. I thought games were supposed to be fun. What the hell were the makers of this game thinking?

The people who like this game have no taste or appreciation for great games. This game was another poor marvel/movie licensed P.O.S. The game was a piece of cake on easy...anyone can get 850 GS out of this junk. However, the experience was terrible. I couldn't bring myself to play through again on Normal, let alone Formidable. I started playing the 4th level on Formidable after beating the game once (previously I had already made it to level 6 on Formidable) and it made me want to vomit. Even after mastering the shitty flying controls (yes, they were shitty...you had to hover to actually shoot somethign accurately) the game was unbearable. All the upgrades I had made during the first playthrough looked like they were on but it was just the same as if I hadn't upgraded anything (the health bar was back to normal even fully upgraded).

Anyways, if you like to sit there and be brutalized by an accurately/infinitely missile firing AI then be my guest...this game is for you. Otherwise, spend your time playing something enjoyable. Now if you want to sit there and boast that you got the 1000 then fine, but don't lie to yourself and everyone else that you actually like the game.

Also, this guy is an idiot. I like almost every genre of game and since you don't like FPS games anyways than why would you like the best ones? They all have the same game mechanics. And Iron Man does suck for everyone, if you don't realize that yet then you just keep playing shitty games. Its either that or you're too poor or stupid and can only get one game a year and you chose the wrong one. I'm being honest, if I didn't have Gamefly I wouldn't even pay 5 bucks or whatever it is to rent this garbage from Blockbuster.

Ok, now this is just getting silly.

Personal attacks aside, an opinion is always subjective. Some people like the game, some don't. You totally have a right to voice your opinion and say you hated it and what you didn't like about it, but it doesn't give you the right to slam someone who does like it.

Myself, I didn't really like it that much. I've got about half through the game before I lost interest. It just feels like the exact same mission over and over again with a different back drop and differntly placed enemies. The voice acting was pretty bad and the story didn't really have any substance to it at all. It was good for a try, but that's about it. I was really looking forward to this game, but I'm glad I didn't buy it.

Oh, and as far as the being worse than Superman comment...not sure about that, but it would be and interesting poll.

FX.

IMO, the game is an entertaining diversion, but not groundbreaking by any means. First, whoever said you have to start on easy and earn the better suits, then tackle harder difficulties, is entirely right.

Would I buy it? If I could find a copy for 5.99, sure. But it's a rental...a free one at that, and I've enjoyed it. Replay value = nil.

Not sure why I'm putting my opinion about this game here, but hopefully I can give my honest view on it.

Personally, I didn't do my research on this title like I usually do. I'm all for easy points, but there are a few games I may pick up in the future, though I want to stay away from Avatar.

When I got this game home, I looked up the ach list, and noticed that it wasn't going to be the usual cakewalk that some movie titles have. Of course, I didn't know what I was about to get into. So I start the game up, put it on easy (I'm not that good at these types of games) and started to see what I had to do.

Seeing as how it was on easy, it was a matter of learning the controls. To start off, the controls weren't too bad, but took me a bit of time to master, mainly cause I couldn't do everything at the start, and I didn't play the demo. I wanted to get all of the achs in the first run-through, but it was too difficult at the start. I figured out that I could come back later once I got more upgrades, so I was pleased about that. I managed to get through the stages pretty quickly I think, it was on easy of course. The only thing that made me mad was that my internet kept going down, so if you look at my achs list for Iron Man, you'll see about 5-6 that are collected but no date. I assure you I got these on my own, I see no point in cheating.

Finished on easy, and went back for the rest of the achs. Got them all but the 2 other difficulty ones, so I figured I'd pick it up on Formidable. First level, I must of died about 6-7 times, good thing it's the first training level. From there I got through lvls 2-4 without too much hassle. Then came lvl 5... Holy crap was that tough. 10 tries later and I'm thinking about hanging it up. Instead I start a new game and put it on normal.

Level 5 is easier than on hard, but then I hit lvl 6 and hit that difficulty wall again. Then I remembered to use my countermeasures. For a short while the chaff was working pretty well, but I was moving around a LOT, catching the occational missile helped some, but mostly that was a luck thing. I managed to get through the level, not sure how, and found the next level to be even harder. My skill went up as I went along, and managed to beat the game on normal. Could not believe that to be honest.

Then I had to go on hard... Lvl 5 came and went, things got rediculous, but I managed to complete the game after MANY retries. The boss fight was not that tough, but the fact that 1-2 shots could kill me, I had to be on my toes. Hard took a lot of hiding to get things done, and I wasn't using chaff anymore, I went for the energy shield. A lot of times the game would do a lot of cheap stuff, but I managed to get it all done. Even used the Mark III armor since it seemed to hold up the best (yeah, I don't understand how hulkbuster armor with a rating of 5 in armor can go down in a single shot to Tatyana when Mark III survives just enough to go down from an additional missile half a second later.)

Overall, this game could of been a lot more polished. Graphics were good to begin, the cutscenes were poor for the quality that we should of gotten (I noticed during the last mission scene that a small sedan was being tossed around, and it didn't get a SINGLE dent or scratch, plus looked boxy as hell.) I even noticed a heavy framerate drop that happened during the 4th level while fighting the boss. The controls were decent, but there was a few things that needed to be changed, like when I go jetting into a direction to evade, I should be able to quickly hop around rather than blaze off into one direction and then wait a little to be able to jet off into another direction if it wasn't the same one. I did manage to master this during the boss fight on hard.

The difficulty ramped up considerably at lvl 5, and stayed there the entire game. Something tells me that they never got to test that on normal and hard before they had to push it out the door. Don't get me wrong, I'm used to damn near impossible challenges (hell, I play Ridge Racer 6, that crap is a nightmare) but sometimes they really need to cut us some slack. The AI was poor at times, like Pants Party has said in his review, and really I share what he has stated.

Looking back on my experience playing this game, yes I completed it with 1000, would I of done it a second time? I don't think so. I still wish I had done the research first, and I was lucky I completed this. All it took was me pretty much bashing my head into a wall until I managed to get the right strategy together. The mission where I had to destroy the 4 targets before going after the big gun (the ones that respawn given enough time) I destroyed a total of 9 couplings before figuring out how to get it done.

All in all, I really didn't like the game. All I did was rent a crappy game and completed it, and now that I'm done with it, thank goodness it's over.

you know what they need to man..a Ironman game not based on a movie..& not let sega touch it...or whatever brand new no-name crap company that made it. I for one am not a basher of the game, i kinda like it...well i am fanboy, but still... i think that would work imo

People usually say a game is crap when they

A: Don't know how to play it the right way
B: Can't beat a specific part

getting frustrated .. take a lil break and try again in a bit you will be surprised at how much better you will do !

As far as Movie games go, this game is alright. Definitely not buy worthy, but everyone here bashing it is being a little too judgmental.

Has anyone forgotten that this game had very little time in the "production chamber?"

I mean come on, maybe if it wasn't rushed to release with the movie, it would be better.

This. Not liking the game is one thing. Flat out flaming people who do like the game and their families is completely unnecessary.

yeah dont buy it, but its the same reason why anyone makes "worst game ever" threads..they get stuck on a level & then say screw it and bash. Im a ironman fanboy, but still, its not the best ever, but its a pretty good time condensed movie game.

I actually enjoyed this game. Of course I've only completed it on easy so far so we'll see how hard goes. I just liked flying around destroyed everything and I'm sure hard will take a lot of fun out of that. I wouldn't say it's a terrible game, but I wouldn't say it's amazing either but definitely playable.

How is this thread still going??? Every level is the same thing...basically you shoot while hovering in circles around enemies, hide to regain health, get shot by a million missiles (and planes) that don't ever stop (I know because I shot down 70 planes in mission 5 or 6?), rinse and repeat. The only difference is the backdrop. Also, I know how to play the game and I beat it on easy because it is a cake walk. It is such a horrible game that on hard it is unbearable. Games like Ninja Gaiden are extremely hard on just the normal difficulty but they are FUN and take a hell-uva-lot of skill. Also, someone said something about the game not having much production time....duh, that's why it sucks and why I was so pissed off about this game in the first place. I had such high hopes because I loved the movie and I like Iron Man in general but I was let down, big time.

Anyway, you guys are way to sensitive, taking an insult from someone that doesn't know you on a xbox 360 forum so personally is ridiculous. Get over it. I thought someone locked this thread days ago? :locked

I like the game. As far as movie games go it's pretty fun. I'm not some loser who can't appreciate/afford a good game. I just enjoy casual titles like this between big titles, and as far as casual titles go it's dead on.

If you're frustrated with the game it's because you're refusing to turn the difficulty down and used to getting an easy 1000gs from movie tie-ins. There's nothing wrong with playing for gamerscore, but don't blast a game just because it decided to make it a challenge (but nowhere near impossible).

Also, a quick tip - it helps a lot if you turn the sensitivity on the camera controls down. It's a bit frustrating when trying to spin quickly to destroy a jet, but apart from that it's much easier to control.

You did come in here and say what amounted to 'anyone who doesn't hate this game is a pathetic loser'. It's only natural people who don't hate this game are going to take a little offense. I'm not going to loose any sleep over it but considering it takes two minutes to reply I'd have to be a complete doormat to defend my viewpoint.

Sorry I don't take forum trash talking as seriously as the rest of you. You also pulled that quote out of your ass because I didn't say it, but I should have.

*nice double post, btw

Really? Because two posts up you said that quote.

Anyways you are the one who started all the trash talking on here, so asking why your trash talking self made this thread and it is still going is a dumb question. Think about it. You want to know why it stills goes, yet you post a paragraph of how this game sucks.
