Picked up the game a week ago and have been playing through it since I finished GTA IV.
I am somewhat confused about these achievements, I played through the Enterprise Era, and got the T'Pol achievement no problem.
But during the TOS Era, I lost 2 ships. But still got the achievement... At first I thought maybe it was glitched, but then I realised both the ships I lost were from the Enterprise Era.
So either it IS glitched, or ships from a previous era do not count towards these achievements.
Thought some of you guys might want to know. And if anyone cares/wants to know, the two ships I lost were Yorktown's.
Edit:
Again if it makes any difference, i'm playing on Admiral difficulty. My plan was to ignore the achievements and get the Admiral achievement, then go back on easy for the rest, but i've gotten a fair few of them already simply by accident.

How far have you gotten on Admiral. I only have 2 achievements left and admiral is the one that is killing me.:uzi:

Very last mission 'Logical Conclusion'
I have only played Admiral difficulty so far, so I dont have any experience with lower difficulties and what changes.
But heres the lowdown from where im sitting.
Everything but the Phidian system mission, and Logical Conclusion, is a cakewalk unless your going for achievements which im told can be doe o easy.
But those two missions are more than enough to have you pulling your hair out. On Phidian, the ally AI is what makes the mission frustrating, beyond that it's not all hard, just takes a LONG time.
But Logical Conclusion has me severely annoyed. Not only do you have to fight 2 tactical cubes as well as 10+ spheres/diamonds/rectangles. But the ally ships die out very quickly, and after about 20 minutes of gametime you are left with 2 possibilities.
The remaining cube chases you around the map destroying the pulse things you need to position, making it impossible to complete the mission as the cube constantly respawns if you take it out.
Or, it just circles endlessly around the middle, leaving you to place the emitters. But then, Tu'Real's ship will destroy you in under 10 seconds.
I've tried that mission 4 times so far, and decided to go back to it sometime later on in the week. But the difficulty spike is insane, it's really easy up until that point, then it's near impossible.

Hmm, these acheivements seem to be more glitched than i first thought.
That or it's just really generous with them for Admiral difficulty.
I finally found out the only way to beat Tu'Real, I only managed to do it by getting one of my non-enterprise ships and edging very slowly into phaser distance from up above her, making sure I was far enough away from the planets to warp out of danger.
From about 2600mm you can fire on her and she will not react, your only danger then is making sure the borg cube doesnt decimate you, and if an ally ship warps on underneath you, peg it because she will move towards them, and once they are dead you are the next target.
It takes a while, but she doesnt regenerate, and it's near impossible to get her shields down, so you just have to persevere while making sure she hasnt noticed you. And if you get caught unable to warp because of the planets, your dead.
So I finally managed to finish that, and I got 3 achievements. Admiral, Riker and Autonomous Operator, which is weird because i lost 2 ships that battle (both TNG era, so that discredits my previous theory) AND i used the repair functionality of the ally ship.
Weird.
Also, the 3 achievements triggered at once and crashed the game, all i got after the mission was a black screen with trek music playing :\ Unless thats supposed to happen in which case wtf kinda ending is that?
Also, you do NOT get ensign/etc along with Admiral, so you'll have to play that mission again on the other difficulties.
Now thats out of the way i'll finish it on the other difficulties when I can be bothered, and playing on easy the other achievements should be easy enough except the Phidian system, protecting those stations is gonna be hell because you cant tell from the map if they are above/below.
Does anyone know if i can simply tractor beam them behind the planets? Or if noones tried it, i'll post it in the achievement guide thread when I get back there on an easy campaign.
But yeah, with the find I made above, provided you have the patience to withstand the AI tomfoolery, Admiral = Cakewalk.

There are extra turrets by the station just use them and place them in fron of the sensors and you wont have to worry about them and if you use the star gazer and 3 apollo class ships that mission will be the easiest in the game

I just wanted to add that i have been playing on Captain and it has given me both the T'Pol Award and the Spock Award achievements and i have lost a few ships in both era's for sure, In the Enterprise era i even lost all but one medical ship on the mission with archer and the poisoned planets.
