"You Got The Message" Achievement Glitch

So I have some bad news. I was playing GTA tonight and I ran into a little problem. I've been working on getting 100% percent in the game and I only needed to do 4 more things. Get all hidden packages, all stunt jumps, all random peds and deliver all cars through text message. Well I decided I would do the 30 cars through text because it's alot quicker than any of the other ones. I delivered the first vehicle to Steve's from Slingshot's and no problems. A few minutes after delivering the first vehicle he sent me a text with another vehicle. This time it was the yellow Patriot in front of the towers. So I went and got the vehicle and drove it to the garage and again no problems. The game autosaved, and then I changed my mind and decided I was going to work on the random ped missions instead and just do the text missions afterwards. So I spent about an hour working on the ped missions driving around and taking cabs finishing the last of em off. I did the last mission and then it autosaved as usual. Right after that is when my problems began. I figured It was time to finish the text missions so I started to wait for my text message. And waited, and waited, and waited... Finally I got pissed off and decided I would try some stuff to see if I could get the idiot to message me. I went back to the location of the Patriot 20 times and it's not there. I let Niko sit there for a good hour and a half in real time and no message. I ran in and out of all different safe houses sleeping over and over again. I chilled with Bruce some more even though he's already at 100%. I even power cycled my Xbox. In total I went from 77 in-game hours of play to 98 and still didn't receive a damn message. I've tried absoloutly everything and I think i'm SOL. My advice would be to keep a backup save just incase someone else hits this glitch because If you want Key To The City and don't have a backup your goin from 0% to 100% all over. lol I guess it's more of an "Achievement Prevention Glitch" than an actual achievement glitch but it's hella frustrating none the less. Please be sure to post if anyone else runs into this! I want to find out if i'm the only one to get this so far...

What I did was everytime I took a vehicle to Stevie, I ran to the safehouse and saved. That way when you wake up you get the message about the next one. So yeah if you haven't got a message it's very likely you'll get one the next time you load the game or save.

Man I wish that woulda worked. I tried turning off my Xbox and re loading the game quite a few times. I even reloaded my 2 day old save where I hadn't picked up the first car yet and delivered both cars, then reloaded my current save and still no luck. Not to mention I saved about 100 times when I was sleeping over and over. I really think it's a glitch dude I don't know. I've honestly tried everything I can think of...

You checked your messages again? if you was going after random ped missions surely he would have left you message? Maybe you read it already and forgot to go back to it? if you deleted it then I've no idea what happens then.

I went back to the location of the Patriot 20 times and it's not there.

The Patriot isn't going to be there because you already took it to him and it saved. After all that time has passed you should definitely have another message from him by now. Maybe you deleted it, if that's possible.

I hope this doesn't happen to me. I'm almost done with this achievement.

Ya I know you really would think he woulda left me one by now. But the fact that I deleted the message is impossible because you can't delete those specific texts until after you deliver the vehicle. And I know for a fact I didn't already deliver it and then delete the message because I still have the old message regarding the Patriot with no option to delete it. It's fu**ed.

i`ve not got much left 2 do but races is one of them and he keeps saying there is no more races yet wheneva i phone him. i`ve read all email`s and dunno wot 2 do next i`ve done about 14 of them and won each 1 1st time so wheres my goddamm other 6 races

try going to a diffierent island and phoning him....

Ok here is what i did , every time i delivered a car it autosaved so i would then reload and BOOM im at the safehouse , sleep 2x and BOOM Msg .. Repeat.

That's one way of doing it. I would just run to the safe house down the road, save once and instantly get another message.

6 hours in game time needs to go by between messages. Like the guy above said, I just ran to the safehouse around the corner and got into bed, when I woke up, new message waiting for me.

I also encountered a little glitch. Thank god I always have a savegame cycle while using all 12 available slots. It was late in the game's story, so I put it in spoilers. Don't read if you haven't finished the story yet:


On the day of Roman's wedding he told me (around 01.00 am) that he's gonna marry today at 10.00 am. So i made a few more things until around 04.11am and decided to save. I woke up at 10.31am and everything was quite. No phone call for the location of the wedding, no one answered the phone, still after 2 days of ingame time ran away, still no sign of living.... maybe they were angry that I missed the wedding ceremony *g* ... I just loaded my savegame from the ingame day before the wedding...

Same thing happened to me.. the patriot wont appear and I'm hoping I dont have to restart the entire game. Anyone know how to fix this??

EDIT: I took a cab a block north of the spot and it spawned.. good to know I dont have to restart the game
