Cars disappear from outside safehouses

Sorry if this has already been posted, I did a search but couldn't find anything relevant.

I don't know what's going on but I keep losing my cars that I park in the yellow boxes outside the safehouses. They seem to stay there if there is an autosave, but if I go into my safehouse and save and go back out they're there once, but disappear if I reload from that game save.

I'm definitely parking within the yellow resident's only parking box. It happened at my first and second safehouses. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution, other than only relying on autosaves?

Maybe it's all just part of the realism and my cars are being stolen? :p

I think that's what it is.. I've had my Turismo stolen a couple of times. You can't expect to keep such a nice car parked outside for that long and not have it stolen....;)

I've gotten jacked out of my car before in the game.

Couldn't beleive it was happening...what is the world coming to?!

Was funny though...just thought "Huh...irony!"

SO maybe that's what is happening. to your cars as I've had a forklift truck parked out side for a good few realtime hours now.

It only happenned to me once. I think it is your car getting stolen. Mine was a Nice Patriot too. If I find them riding around Liberty City I am going to steal it back!!

This has happened to me as well. I was holding on to the Comet that Brucie gives you and it disappeared. Got jacked I'm assuming.

i watched mine get jacked during a cut scene, by the time the scene was over the car was long gone.... :(

Same thing has happened to me, well similar.

I think what had happened was I was in a Police chase and drove by my safe house with a few Police cars tailing me, then I carried on did some missions and went back to that safe house and one car was gone and the other was half in the yellow box and half outside of it, I immediately thought wtf!

Now I've come to the assumption that maybe the Police cars crashed in to them as they were chasing me and knocked one of the cars out of the yellow box ?

Maybe something similar has happened to you guys ?

None of my cars have gone missing from my parking spots, except for the time I parked 3 cars and a bike in the parking area to see if you could stuff it like in past GTA games. Ohh and the helicopter I landed in the parking box didn't stay either :P

Frizzed has a good assumption, maybe they are getting bumped out of the boxes. It seems unlikely they'd be getting jacked since some people have had it happen a bunch and others not at all. Car saves have always had issues in GTA games regardless.

yea this happend to me a lot in the algonquin middle park safehouse and the one in bohan. no where else though.

really does suck. i miss garages.

Yeah i have had a couple cars disappear but really surprisingly i have had a helicopter parked in one of my spots for like 30 saves maybe 8-12 real time hours of game play i only use it now and then and park it very carefully each time and it hasn't disappeared yet...

honsestly, im not sure if this is what happend, but i was driving near one of my safe houses, and a freakin car hit my i think infernus out of that little square, and i though nothing of it, came back and it was gone, so i dont know if thats what happend

Well it seems to be a common problem, so hopefully it's a glitch that can be patched. At the moment I don't see the point in attempting to save any special cars as they just vanish when I reload anyway. It doesn't really spoil anything, it would just be good to keep hold of a couple of the rarer sports cars.

Edit: I forgot to say, the cars being shunted out of the box does sound like a very good explanation...some of the time, for some people. However, it's every time I reload from a safehouse save, so I think maybe in my case, this isn't what's happening.
