God, i'm already sick of this cheap sh!te. But, i will beat it on hardest. No matter how many fluffy animals i have to sacrifice.
So..what do i need to do to this thing? I get the air defenses down, i destroy the two heli pads..then what? I see the yellow objective marker thingies..but where/what are they?

WTF are you talking about the nose???? there is no nose, its all engines. Its telling me to take out the hangers, but the games so fucking cheap because of the no talent developers i cant even get close.

Try using QuasidodoJr's strategy in the achievement guide. And do not blame the creators just because you can not beat it.

I dont. I blame the developers for being no talent hacks who have no business working in the game industry.
Formidable is just freaking impossible from the start. maybe with the unlocked armor..maybe.

There are four hangars located at the rear of the fortress' wings. You can only destroy them standing on the wings themselves, and they only take one shot, even with your repulsors. They do have to be open, however, and the longer you take to destroy them, the more jet fighters you'll have to contend with.
Also, if you're having trouble completing missions and there are still upgrades you can apply, but can't afford, you can replay earlier missions to earn the money to purchase the upgrades. Otherwise, unlocked armors can only be used in Story mode AFTER you've finished Story mode.

So I'm stuck here as well. This game is absurd... should I quit out and play through on Easy to unlock other armors and then go back on Hard with a different one or just try to tough it out and hope I get lucky? It's been a fight to pass pretty much every level thusfar.

Have you tried using my strategy from the guide? If you follow it, you shouldn't even have any enemies to fight while going after the hangars, besides the jets that come out of them.

I would just keep playing If I were you. Go ahead and get hard out of the way. And I don't think when you start a new difficulty you lose everything. I think.

It's funny that you suggest that, when I first put the game into my XBOX, I started a game on Easy, got all the achievements I could, and unlocked all armors. Then I restarted a game on Normal, finished the the Normal campaign, now I'm just getting loose end achievements, then I'll eventually start a game on Hard and get that last and most difficult achievement.
So yeah I would suggest going back on easy, unlocking everything you can than tackling hard mode well prepared.

Which armor is the best to use for Hard? I haven't unlocked them all yet, but just wanted some opinions. I should have them tomorrow. I did end up going on Easy and beating the game and I'll do the One Man Army modes and finish any other achievements I can before starting Hard.

I have to agree I need to restart this game on easy and get the armors or something the game is bonkers on formidable difficulty. I got a question does anyone know if the one man army missions are going by the same difficulty as the story mode it set to if not then I am never gonna beat them ?
Oh why didn't I start on easy first .. IRON MAN my ass more like dying man ! :p

This level made me restart on easy. Now I need to beat it on formidable for the last two ach's. I tried it with the Classic armour, got farther than I ever have. But on the second last objective, I got annihilated. Too many thing shooting at me. I'll try with the Silver Centurion, hopefully I can 1000 this game. I'm really not looking forward to the Save Pepper mission. XD

I dunno why people had so much trouble with Save Pepper. I got it first try. Just sit by the main reactor and ignore all the secondary towers but the one by itself near the water. Try to take out the groups of missiles and then fly through the little ring whenever it recharges to overload the reactor. Make sure you have the ring available during the final part where missiles come from all sides. Hit that and then keep spinning and firing at missiles. The reactor can take quite a bit of damage.

I have never gotten the "stealth" to work on that armor. And it doesn't really help that much in Flying Fortress anyway. The "air pockets" thing as you head for the fortress can easily kill you twice before you reach it. It's happened to me a couple of times trying to use that armor. And then, as soon as you reach the fortress, you're automatically attacked when you get there. I was, anyway, and I couldn't move, and would die a third time.

Actually just fly at the fortress from the side and you'll barely get scratched. If you head at it straight on like you said you'll die a few times just trying to get on board.

the strategy guide posted on here really helps for those that are having problems with this mission. i find that the red and silver armor and the classic armors work the best. reread the strategy guide till you;'ve memorize all the spots, its really not that hard to do.

this mission wassent to bad for me i used the silver centurion suit and i replayed alot of missions so i had this suit fully upgraded after that was a doddle, also this suit has stealth ability which was very handy.

I've been using the classic armor which gets me at the very last part, and some times with three lives. My problem is I get killed instantly for trying to get to the reactor. The guide seems to be written on easy and I can tell there must be some trick to this. I tried coming at the side. Going underneath to the side. Going underneath and up and over. Nothing works. I just die instantly every time.
I tried the silver cent armor and it seems useless on hard with so little armor. Nothing seems to work and it's pissing me off that I can get to the end ever time with so many lives just to die over and over. Does anyone know the direction you're suppose to take towards the reactor?

hey dude! I tried how the guide said, it was ok. On the last part where you have to go in the reactor place, it says in the guide to get in the reactor, well don't it will get you killed. Instead just jump down and shot the lazer things then you should have it easy. I finished the mission with 15 seconds left. It is tough no lie. It took me about 5 tries, with the Mark 3
striker system
Meson Repulsor
Converter
Micro grenades
agility thrusters
That is the set up I had. I finished with 2 live left. I would say I lucked out!!

Could you just let the thing fly over land and be shot down or do you absolutely have to take it down manually

Here is the pattern I used:
First use the Silver Centrino Suit.
I took an outside left approach of the fortress, this minimizes the gunfire. I added plenty of barrel rolls (tapping A), make sure you don't die on your approach. I came to rest under the left of the wing, let your health recharge. Using hovering and boost take out all the cannons on the bottom of the wing moving left to right. Then go to the front right of the ship in between wings moving right to left taking out those 6 canons.
You should get the go ahead to take out the hangers at this point. Fly to the back left and start with the far left one. If you listen it will tell you when the bay doors are opening some times you have time to get two on the same sequence. If not just take your time and find cover in the structure below the landing strips (looks like bridge supports). This will provide protection from missiles.
There are four hangers. (It is very possible to clear to this point without losing a life). Then you are headed back to the middle of the ship. There are four cooling stations to take out. Two on each side of the ship. At this point the door on the front of the ship between the engines will open.
Fly to the front and rest on the ledge here and face looking forward away from the ship about 5 or 6 helicopters will drop one at a time. You have time to take out each one. Then turn around and work your self up into this hold. There are four orange containers to destroy. Take your time and clean out this room. I think I had about 2 minutes at this point without dying.
The trick here is to fly out the door and go just to the right and land on top of the ship. (If you are looking at the tail of the plane here, you will be just to the left of the midline at this point). Just walk down this section. There will be some cover from missiles using this path, there are a couple of turrets to take out between you and where the section you enter to get to the reactor. (I died once at this point). Drop into the reactor room. (I died once at this point) Just blast the crap using RT and Y , it explodes pretty quickly. Just keep straffing right/left. As soon as it explodes it goes to the cutscene. Congrats you finished it.

Also remember that although the timer is running to still be patient and take your time so you are not rushing into an area that will get you killed.
