"Chain Reaction" Is it glitched?

I've been trying all day. I go to a bridge with a firetruck, I block traffic, I stand ontop of the firetruck, then I blast everyone with the RPG in under 10 seconds. I even count all the car wrecks to make sure. I even made a new game thinking maybe my other save is glitched, but I still couldn't get it. What am I doing wrong? I am blowing up 10 vehicles in under 10 seconds, and no achievement.

Where did you get an RPG? That would have made it easier for me. It took a lot of trial and error but I finally found a parking lot with 7 cars. I drove 1 in and grabbed two more. Then, although not as cool as the RPG, I shot one car until it exploded. The rest followed and I got the achievement.

Maybe it is very specific. It's called Chain Reaction so take it literally. With the RPG its two or three at a time.

I parked 10 cars in a petrol station and then blew it up.. Worked first time maybe you should try that? I used the cheat to get rid of cops because they got in the way when trying to steal 10 cars then park them! Just dont save the game after you get it :)
Takes longer than the other way but atleast it will work first time

Chain reaction is not glitched. Try to do it at times square, using the buses to block traffic and cause a pile up.

you can actually get the cars and park them in the petrol station and still save if your carefull, just incase theres queries about 100%... ive not done it yet, but it just seems common sense!;)

k im having the same problem i even tried it with 15 vehicles and i use a stop watch all the cars blew up in 8 seconds n after blow ups either cuz i waited a minute for those.... if any1 has suggestions help ive been on it for like 3 days =[

Seriously guys, I was having the same problem for more than 2 hours last night. I piled up 10+ cars at the gas station near the hospital, blew it up 3 different times with no luck. I finally came on here and read something another user said, and tried my luck. I used the weapons cheat, and no warning cheat, and successfully got the achievement. Basically I piled up another 15 cars, parked one of the buses from the bus depot around the corner in front of the exit, then hijacked the rest of the cars, and piled them in nice and neat without ANY of the cars touching each other. Make sure none of them touch. I threw 2 grenades in the middle, and instantly got the achievement. Give that a try if your still having problems.

Thats not a chain reaction at all. Try what I did near the airport. Get 10 cars park next to eacth other like you did in that video, Then try shooting one car until it catches fire and blows up. It will then cause the car next to it to blow and the another and another thus a "chain reaction" to blow all 10 up and you get the achievement. One car creates the chain reaction that destorys the other 9.

how did you place the cars exactly? did you bunch them up at random, or are they in two rows or something? are the cars side to side, or in a straight line bumper to bumper?

Well I actually had two rows of 5, right next to eatch other bumper to bumper then I had a 11th car next to that stack of 10. It was actually like a bunch of airport cars and some cars from the nearby road near the parking lot. the 11th car was a limo but that doesn't matter. What I oringally wanted to do was shoot eatch car til it was smoking (close to blowing up) and then do the same for the 11th until it blew and then I thought the rest of the cars would go up easy. Problem was after like the 4th car I guess I shot it to much and it blew up and I was like crap at first (getting 11 cars next to eatch other takes time and I had to use the remove stars cheat just to have the cops leave me alone). Anywas what I noticed is that car blew up, then a few secs later the rest blew up. I was like thats what I wanted to do but I thought it took to long but no, lo and behold the achievement popped up and I was mighty happy.

ok i will try that. I tried that before but when the one car exploded, the car next to it just caught fire. ill try it again though.

Thats why I wanted to weaken them all. To make sure that single explosion was enough to cause them all to blow up and not catch fire or anything like that. I wanted one explosion to destory them all and I think thats what the achievement really is. Trust me I had 10 cars before and I rpg them and got nowhere so I really sat there and thought about it for a few and was glad I figured it out.

This is exactly what worked for me. I tried a few times shooting RPG all over the place blowing up at least ten with no luck.
Then when I tried to actually make it a chain reaction like the title of the achievement (but not the description) it worked just fine. Only use *1* rocket or grenade to get all 10 to blow up.

Yeah the description is useless. It makes you think if you are a fast destroyer you will get the achievement and that isn't it at all. The title of the achievement is what makes the difference. The idea to do what I did came from when I saw other cars blowing up from a previous explosion and I thought...hey what if.... and well the rest was history lol.

It really isn't that hard. You can use anything as long as 10 blow up in under 10 seconds. I used this method a while ago and it worked on the very first try.

I tried doing what you did. I put 5 in two rows beside eachother. I weakened all of them with 5 shotgun shots and 3 pistol shots each. The next pistol shot would set it on fire. Then I fired once at one of the vehicles to set it on fire, when it exploded, all it did was set the others around it on fire. I've seen videos, and whenever a car explodes it causes all the other cars around it to explode, even without weakening it before. Am I playing a different game or something?

I tried it with RPG's for a long time and i think because the reloading takes so long it doesn't work that good. I did the same thing your doing pretty much but I used a tour bus. All I did was block traffic on one of the main bridges and let like 15 or 20 cars build up (made sure they're somewhat close together) and then just dropped a couple nades in that biatch and launched a rocket. Hope it helps dude

Yeah I don't know why yours does the fire thing, my setup caused many explosions not just fire. sorry it didn't work for you.

Dude i had the same problem but in the end i got it anh heres how:
i went to my safehouse outside Bohan and started collecting cars by the door. If the police noticed i went inside and saved the game. I got 12 cars and parked them in 2 rows of 6 against my safehouse wall. I called up 2 fire trucks and parked them on both sides of the cars then i called an ambulance got on top of it and started throwing them iinto the middle of all the cars and i got it. I tried like 3 times with RPGs before that but it did not work.

Ok, Idk if this has been mentioned before in here (I'm not gonna read all the posts) but I read somewhere that you can't blow all the cars up by shooting at them. To my understanding (again based off of the information I read), you have to let them blow up in a "chain reaction". You CAN blow up one of them but the other 9 have to occur from the first explosion. Now I don't know how true that is, cuz I don't have the achievement. But can anyone please confirm this?

i finally got it, i did the bus thing on the bridge...all the car made two lines...there were about 14...i dropped a nade at the start of the line and one toward the end of the line...to start the reaction from either end....and worked so im happy.

Just got the Chain Reaction achievement!! :D

Used the bus method as in the video above ^^ Used two cheats - advanced weapons (for grenades) and Lose wanted level.
Had about 17 motors piled in and then threw two grenades in, one at the back and one at the front then ran!!

I actaully got the acheivement in the 2nd island inside of the car dealership grotti. I used the cars inside and like 6 cars from outside. Just so happend a limo drove by and i snatched that up and pulled it infront of the other cars. Threw a granade and started blasting rockets. Got iit easily.
