can any achievements be unlocked in FREE MODE?

No 100% sure, but the ones I have tried to unlock in free mode didn't unlock. I'm not sure if it's all of the achievements or only certain ones.

Nope, sorry. Only single player.

Only single player and multiplayer ( all multiplayer achievements meaning you have to be on xbox live)

Yeah, I think that's what it's called, but I think the original poster was talking about the multiplayer free mode. I could be wrong though.

You can still unlock achievements after completing the story.

Yes after the game, no in co-op
