Ok so I am at about 18 hours with 40 missions done. Just did the first Packie mission, first Dwayne mission, and last Elizabeeta mission. Will I make the 30 hours or not?

You can make it. But only by skipping all the cutscenes and taking taxis for the missions. You will make it. I was in a case like that. I did everything in a slow pace, until I got to 20 hours play-time. Then I remembered the achievement, and rushed myself through the storyline. I made it with 29.5 hours and got the achievement.

No you will not, cause you have the same amount of missions to go and they get tougher.

Just reload your last save every time you die so no time is wasted failing. Press start, then right option, the load and it will pick your last save or autosave automatically.

Doing this I finished in 19 hours.

this guy has the right idea. dont think you'll make it considering you got 40+ missions to go. i had it beat at 19:55 doing what he said above as well as taxis everywhere i could. that was with watching cutscenes.

yeah, I watched the cutscenes too, and obviously took cabs and skipped to all locations (figured that was obvious) and I got it in 19 hours and 47 mins, so around 20 hours is normal.

I did 37 missions in a little over 4 hours. (Skipped all cut scenes and fast forwarded through all calls and took taxis everywhere I could) 19 hours for that amount is way too long.

Well I don't have a problem with him but I do always see him posting just about everywhere I look and not all of them are like you describe but most seem to be :s


Anyway, I was pretty much the same place as you with thesame amount of time gone and I finished it with just under 28 hours played, so yeah if you dont give up you will be able to do it.

Use a taxi to get everywhere all the time unless you **need** to drive, sometimes you will be able to call a taxi and the guys will get in it with you othertimes you wont be able to.

if you still dont think you can do it, just keep reloading your saves.

so long as you don't die too much you should be fine :D

Edit - I watched all the cutsceens and did the phonecalls, can always skip them if you really want to but some games I love to watch the cutsceens :P

Well I was thinking of having the save I have now then saving on another file. So on the second file I could continue playing normally and once im done go back to tht first save which would be where I am now( 19 hours, 41 missions) and rush it to the end, skip cutscenes, phone calls, take taxis everywhere. You dont think I'd get it still?

you'll make it m8... trust me, average time for completing it is 20-25 hours, i'm trying a speed run just now, and done 25 missions in just over 1:40... as long as u reload it if you fail a mission... u might not even need to skip cutscenes/calls and taxi it, but i would just to be safe, run 2 saves... get 3/4 missions ahead in 1, watching cutscenes etc, then load ur speed run, skip/taxi till u get to the same point then rinse repeat.... also turn on autosave if u haven't already, once u finish a mission u can reload and get back to safehouse if thats closer to the next mission

25 missions in just over 1:40 WOW!!! tht is crazy, how am I supposed to finish in under 30 hours if im only at 19 hours/41 missions, and you did 25 in 1:40, wow! you think 11 hours is enough time to finish the game?

aye, took me 16 hours first time round to complete it, and that was watching cutscenes and stuff, but i did spend a lot of cash on taxi's getting to and from missions, 11 hours should be plenty of time, i'll let u know for sure in a bit once i get further on in the game (for the 3rd time lol)

I didn't want to make a new thread but was just asking myself this question. I'm approaching the 20 hour mark and have 70 missions done. I'm only worried because I wasn't trying to get this achievement and at about 12 hours I was only 38 missions in and didn't think I had a chance but started really sticking to the story and want to try and knock this achievement out. So am I safe to make the final 26 missions in 10 hours which is only about 2.5 per hour which doesn't seem bad but I don't know what the pace is like down the stretch seeing as I haven't beaten the story yet.

There are 96 missions total I believe so just check how many you have done.

If you focus on just the missions you should definitely be able to keep up with that pace and probably more per hour. I'm at 70 missions and need to finish 2.5 missions per hour so after that I don't know how long they take.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing now. I still watch some cutscenes but I use a lot of cheats and taxis. I always seem to fail the missions that require chases though. I hate those.

Ah, you gotta watch the cutscenes. They are some of the best parts about the story. Even with watching all cutscenes, 3 missions per hour is very easy to maintain but I don't know about towards the very end.

well i had only done 20 missions at the 11 hour mark and i made it with 5 minutes to spare, so with you doing twice as many as me with 18 hours if you rush and take taxis everywhere it is possible

wow 5 mins to spare, see the thing is if i dont get it this run through im not gonna go back and do it, way to many missions to redo and i HATE all the missions where you must chase a guy, I HATE THOSE MISSIONS!! So right now im 19 hours and about 18 mins in and 44 missions done so i have been taking taxi's everywhere and stuff but I still watch cutscenes, but I do reload my saves instead of retrying missions and i havent been doing nething but missions, so I could get it maybe I think?? The only decision I have to make is, is it worth it to date Kiki so she can clear my wanted stars which would make some missions easier, and also to date that other girl to give me health. another thing that slows me down is buying weapons and armour from Jacob, I wish I could buy especially armour in bulk so I didnt have to call him everytime i needed. I really hope I make it though cuz if I dont I wont replay it.

well tonight I started at 19 hours and now im at 19 hours and 42 minutes, so in 42 minutes I did 6 missions, I was at 41 missions when I started now im at 47. if I keep that up I think I could do it. I hear the missions get longer tho, like the bank mission alone takes 30 mins i heard.

The difficulty of the bank mission is overrated IMO. People who think its hard and die a lot use the run n' gun tactic, when cover is really the best method. Take your time, aim for head shots, and try to preserve your health and armor as much as possible. Won't take 30 minutes if you're not forced to constantly start over after dying.

it really doesn't take more than about 10-15 min. if you fail don't waste your time retrying it though, just reload your last save. when your doing the mission by the way, use the cover system lots!!

im at the 22 hour mark, ~45-50 missions :woop: (at work atm, cant remember exactly) couldnt give a damn about the 30 hour achieve cause im having to much fun & enjoying myself =D

i enjoy being able to drive around, randomly doing stuff, and not having to worry about getting 90 odd missions done in 30 hours, if i really want it (and i want to get 1000 on this game...) ill do it when i have spare time... but first play through should be enjoyed not rushed IMO

I have 50 missions done and im just over 20 hours, like 20 hours and 10 minutes in. Im on the bank mission currently, I tried it and on my first try got right to the end and got hit by a train in the subway!!! WTF!! I was so pissed, anyways I will try it again tonight and watch out for the train

I am at 21 hours played and 54 missions in. I have 9 hours to complete 40 missions. I did the math though.
I would need at least 5 missions every hour to make it. 9 times 5 is 45, and 45 plus 54 is 99 so that would put me over. But let's just say 5 missions every hour. To complete 5 missions every hour I would need to spend about 11 mins per mission, maybe 11 mins and 15 seconds. Now assuming I take cabs and skip cutscenes I should be able to finish 5 missions an hour, because even though I only have 11 mins a few seconds per mission, hardly any missions will even take that long. I know there are a few that might take longer maybe but the majority will be shorter. so according to my math if I do 5 missions per hour and am allowed to spend 11 mins and a couple seconds on each mission and skip cutscenes and take cabs I will make the Liberty City Minute correct? Is this right, or are the last like 20 missions huge epic 30 minute missions LOL
