Ah, one of my favorite days of the year... Marvel almost always does a good X-Men comic and this year looks to be no different.

Most stores will allow 2 comics from the Gold level and possibly another one from the Silver level if it is a bigger store. Some stores will only receive Gold level comics though. If it's a super small store and they didn't get a lot, they might even only allow one Gold comic and that's it. Get there early and buy something and your chances of getting extra free ones always goes up. Hell, buy something regardless and support the comic book industry! :D

Those comics don't look that great, but it's free, so you can't complain. It actually sounds like a cool idea, and though I don't really buy comics or collect them, I may try and get in on this. I've got to check if any of the three comic book stores by me are involved in this.

Tussell, almost every shop should have at least Marvel and DC. I'd call up and see if they have that E.C. Comics Sampler from the Silver level, you'd probably dig that.
Sanction, you'd fit right in, eh? ;)

Touche, but comic book stores aren't my thang [anymore :P]. Besides, I don't think the guy at my local one likes me, I think he thought I was stealing his Punisher #1 once... =/

Wally Wood’s cover from Tales From the Crypt #26 wraps four classic stories from the EC Archives: Al Feldstein’s “Spawn of Venus” from Weird Science #6; Alex Toth and Harvey Kurtzman’s “Dying City” from Two-Fisted Tales #22; Johnny Craig’s “Curse of the Full Moon” from Tales From the Crypt #17; and Wally Wood’s “Under Cover” from Shock SuspenStories #6!
You're right! I skipped right over that... I like all of these man! I figured they wouldn't have E.C. I'll definitely need to check this out... Sadly, the weather and my 'sickness' are going to play a role in whether I make it there or not.

Sweet, free comic book day tomorrow. Might have to head down to our comic store, The Core. When I was at the midnight last night (technically this morning) showing of Iron Man, before it started, we had the owner of The Core yelling out Iron Man trivia. Whoever got the question right would get a $20 gift card for the store. Someone even yelled out, "The Core rules!" and he got a $20 gift card just for saying that. Wish I would've screamed that out....

Thanks for the heads up. I took my kids to a local shop this morning and we had a lot of fun. They had donuts and gave both my kids an Ironman Heroclix figure thingy and we got a few comics too, and I bought a few things from the shop to show our appreciation.

Dang, the only store near me is Books-a-Million. I put in my zip and nothing came up. Does anyone know if they are doing it at Books-a-Million?

When I was in infant school my primary school use to promote something similar to this and we could all pick a comic for free from a big collection that got sent from Marvel etc.. this was a long time ago.. might be the same thing.

I missed this because I woke up wayyyyyy too late. Oh well, doesn't look like there was much good this year, I might've just picked up the X-Men one anyway.

I don't suppose anyone picked up an Iron man heroclix figure that they'd be willing to part with? We didn't get them in the UK and I collect them.
PM me.
