GTA IV = The 3 red lights

Ok so ive just started playing, im at the start in the house and BOOM, worst case scenario happens, console shuts down and there they are, just flashing at me, the three red lights:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:. I turn it off and back on its working fine, so i ask some of my friends about it to find that it has happened to two of them also at more or less exactly the same time!?

Has this happened to anyone else?

If it happens again there is gonna be pain for microsoft and rockstar, more for microsoft as i hate them more and 99.9% of the time its there fault;)

That sucks so bad man. I recommend in store warranties so you can just take it back and get a brand new one today. I've read around that this unfortunately happened to some others. I think it's just bad luck.

Ok, stop. You're making it sound as if GTA IV is the reason you got RRoD. That's completely wrong, and you should be more careful with your subject titles - otherwise people have the right to come in and flame you.

Getting a RRoD while playing GTA IV would be purely coincidence.

This topic is misleading and incorrect. GTA IV has nothing to do with getting the RROD. It's the system just like any other game. This was eventually gonna happen to you anyway. Just like it happens to everybody else on the face of this planet with a 360. Invest in a warranty, I defiantly learned my lesson with that one.

Let me say what I know from my own experience and from another friends. We got a RRoD too (months ago) We all got the red lights when we started up the console.

So you and your friends start GTAIV and get an RRoD....I think it could have happened with any other game, you just got back luck...I mean there´s really no warning before you get the red lights...besides that your xbox crashes a few times before you get those lights (at least that´s what happened to us)

maybe its all the matenence in the game as far as unlocking the onle gameplay causing a malfunction to some people playing the game...or it could be the xbox 360 itself.

i still think people are missing the point that it only happened the one time and it has caused no further problems, maybe it only happens once at the start of the game, something in the gamecode that affects the console?, i couldnt be sure

Look after your $$ Elite bud me had mine for 5 months then got the ring. As for GTAIV I think you just had bad luck with the time, or maybe if its a old console it could be the data on the disk ? (not really sure on that last one though)
