The only achievement I'm worried about

The only achievement I'm worried about is this:

Let Sleeping Rockstars Lie:

- Kill a Rockstar Dev in a ranked multiplayer match.

I'm a real achievement whore when it comes to games such as GTA, and I really hate it when games have achievements that you can only get by chance or luck.

What are the chances you'll actually run into a Rockstar dev, let alone kill him in a multiplayer match?

With the hundreds of thousands of players that will log onto GTA mutliplayer every day for the next few months, this achievement will probably one of the toughest to achieve.

What do you guys think?

My gut tells me it's going to end up being an annoying cockblock to getting 1000/1000, unless you just get extremely lucky and run across a dev playing a flagged account or spam any special events.

I should think it's one of the "contageous" type ones where you can also get it by beating someone who has it.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be a viral achievement, its the exact same as the "Beat a Guitar Hero 3 developer" achievement which i got on my first day.

These achievements normally spread very quickly, as developers will probably play every day for a few weeks to get some others the achievement. Then anyone who beats them will spread it themselves.

We can only hope anyway...

I'm not after huge gamerscores, but I really enjoy trying to 1000/1000 quality games. It's my updated version of getting all the unlockables in a game. Anyways, it'll drive me nuts if I get stuck at 990/1000 because I haven't won the multiplayer lottery. :)

I don't think it'll be too hard. If it's viral,you'll get it without even knowing. If there's an event,you could get it by getting into the event.

On release day to GH3 I beat someone and got the developer acheivement from them. Then later on in the day someone beat me and got it off of me then he messaged me thinking i was a developer lmao.

Like most people have said, one can only hope its viral... Otherwise its a pretty stupid idea for an achievement. Especially when you consider the developers aren't going to be playing the game online as much as us gamers in our thousands will be.

When I log onto Xbox Live, I am going to check my friends gamertag's see if anyone has it. If a lot do then I bet its Viral, if nobody has it, Im going to login, try a few multiplayer games see if I can find a developer.

There are 200 pigeons you have to kill, You can locate the map by going to an in game internet cafe. So not THAT hard

Yeah, there have been many achievements that were worded the same way and they were all viral. They would not make something so unobtainable as that so that if a developer never played again no one would get it ever again.

the need for speed carbon one was viral so if you beat someone that had the achievement you got it too. Just like Shadowrun which was my very first achievement in that game. To be honest I was worried about this achievement when I first heard about it, but after thinking about it, there's no doubt in my mind that this one will be viral as well. There's no way on earth that you would actually have to kill a rockstar developer. First of all there's not that many of them compared to the millions that will play online. Also I think they have better things to do than play multiplayer all day every day for months to let people kill them for the achievement, things such as working on the dlc and inevitable gta V as well as other rockstar projects. So I imagine this will be one of the first multiplayer achievements people will get after a couple of days if they can pry themselves away from the story.

Well off to go pick up my copy now and will probably try the multiplayer first to see if I can kill a few people to get this right away. Cheers!

Incorrect. In NFS Carbon you actually have to beat an EA Moderator for the achievement. There is currently only ONE ea mod willing to give it out. Once every few months. His xbox is currently RRoD. And when we finally coaxed him online prior, the stupid EA servers didn't give the achievement for a few hours of playing with him. EA sucks.

my mistake then about the need for speed carbon. I never played the game but I remember hearing about it and thought I remember there being like 3 parts to the viral achievement or something. If EA made you have to beat one of the developers, then that's just stupid of them. I wonder who gets that shit job. "Hey Jim, go online and race around for hours and just let people beat you so they can unlock the achievement."

There is no flipping way that even if its not viral that the achievement "whores" won't get it.....Microsoft just had a play with the dev's for GH III weekend for anyone who didn't get it the viral way....so trust me...They will have Rockstar Dev. weekends....there's no flippin way a company other than EA would fuck with this big of a community who's livelihood depends on us and our happiness....no way...

EDIT: ok...that last part of depending may be stretched...most gamers don't play for GS....but still....enough that achievement selection has gotta be important for them....they assembled a strong list of challenging but not impossible ones....it'll be fun...
