I was watching BBC Three (Not ITV, BBC Three is channel 8 on freeview) tonight and it was advertised that there is a new series of Family Guy coming on May 4th and that they are starting the new series off by showing the Family Guy Movie the same day.
This was the first I had heard about it and thought I would post it incase anyone else didn't know.
This was on UK TV I have no idea about the rest of the world.

There is no Family Guy movie.
It'll air their hour-length Stars Wars spoof episode first, deliberating on May the 4th.
It's being advertised quite a lot on BBC3, but as i'm a pirate (YAARRR!) i've got all of season 6 on my PC, already aired the first 10 episodes (out of 12) of the series in the US, with #11 airing this evening.

A new season, or an entirely new show?
EDIT: Question answered. :p

It's not a movie no. But it was released on dvd in the UK as a movie, because until recently, no TV station were properly airing the show, and the shows were rushed onto dvd as soon as possible.
That's why what in the US in season 4, in the UK is series 4, series 5, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, and three non-released episodes.

Ah now I know, i'm generally happy we are finally getting a new series in the UK (It's new for us anyway)
Um..? Yes there is an actual Family Guy movie, made somewhere in between seasons 2 and 4.

I believe that the Family Guy movie was originally made on DVD titled Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story. Then aired on T.V. as three seperate episodes cutting some of the movie out.

A bit off topic but it saves starting a new thread. Has anybody seen the TV advert for the new South Park series? Starts Sunday I think; looks hilarious!

Family Guy DOES have a movie, even though it is on TV as 3 different episodes, well worth watching the full movie, it is far funnier than the 3 seperate episodes.

Officially, it's not a movie. Was just released that way in the UK.
Seriously, i'm like a huge pop culture nerd, especially film and tv, i knows my stuff.

No, it is officially a movie, and originally was released that way, even here in the states. Like people have said, it was cut into three parts and aired as episodes, but they cut stuff out of the movie. The movie had cussing, thus making it hilarious.
"You know what really grinds my gears? You, America. FUCK YOU."
Great, great stuff.
I know it's wikipedia, but here's a quote:
"Originally released as a direct-to-DVD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-to-video) movie, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story comprises three episode length segments with a wraparound story. Different edits, both adding and deleting material, were eventually televised as the three-part season four finale ("Stewie B. Goode (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewie_Griffin:_The_Untold_Story#Stewie_B._Goode)", "Bango Was His Name Oh! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewie_Griffin:_The_Untold_Story#Bango_Was_His_Nam e_Oh.21)" and "Stu and Stewie's Excellent Adventure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stewie_Griffin:_The_Untold_Story#Stu_and_Stewie.27 s_Excellent_Adventure)")"
So, again, originally was a straight to DVD movie.

Again, as a UK/Eire resident, what we know as series 6 is season 5 in America. What is starting on BBC3 has never been shown on British tv before, and is still in the process of being shown in the US
